I'm no VP expert, but I think Multi-Strike Video Poker requires a more conservative strategy for levels 1, 2, 3.

Perhaps a VP expert can chime in and confirm.

The strategy is the same when playing multiple lines.

    Yes, that is correct.

Because the multiplier at the higher tiers is of so much value you should play the hands you are most likely to complete at the lower levels to get to the higher levels.

The Op asked about multi hand, not multi strike...

Numerous games offer variations which can alter the odds and require slight alterations in play. Many games which offer multiple hands have paytables which are poorer than the ones at single play machines in the next bank. For example, try to find full pay Deuces for 3/5 hands.

That said, correct strategy for one hand is identical to that for 100 hands if all else is equal.

As a corollary, "Winning Streak Poker" also requires strategy adjustments. Also Ultimate X requires strategy adjustments by multiplier level to play optimally, but can be play near-optimal with a single strategy that differs from standard video poker. But neither of these game are traditional multihand video poker either.

Generally, multi-line poker by itself does not change strategies. Other "gimmicks" added to the game may alter the strategy. One popular "gimmick" game that does not alter the strategy is my personal favorite, Super Times Pay and/or Double Super Times Pay.

The Gold Coast has 3/5 play 9/6 JoB STP starting at quarters. You can even play a single hand if you want. It is my all time favorite...

Super Times Pay is the king of all VP, IMO.

Rumor has it, a few days before I was at the Aria last May, a woman hit the Double Super Times Pay machine (a few seats down from the STP machine I played during my trip) for $40k. She was playing quarters.

Doesn't get much better than that.

I'm actually in Lake Charles, LA this weekend and I'm loving the 1 cent 100 hand Super Times Pay. It's been very good to me and where as I usually forget to stop while I'm ahead, I can play it for a long time and rack up a crapload of tier credits. It's the only machine I know where at $6 per had a hundy will last this long. I kick myself because last time we were here I put in a $20 and ran it up to $500 but cashed out much lower. I tried to see if I could get away with playing at 5 cents ($30 per hand)....I couldn't.

Speaking of STP (my favorite game as well), I hit all three of these this weekend on 10-play quarters:

Great hits ACMike! I LOVE super times pay also (and thus my screen name of luvstp) and also double STP although that one is a lot harder to find.

Nothing like dealt trip aces with a multiplier to get the blood pumping!
