I'll be in Vegas the weekend of August 16. Anyone know if I will be able to place a bunch of bets for the opening games of college football (which begins 2 weeks later)?

Nobody had week 1 lines up when I was there this past week, but you should have no problem. Cantor was advertising the lines on their boards...but then refused to allow bets on them- I would guess they would be live very shortly. Golden Nugget only had games of the year when I was there- they may be up now, but I would have appreciated them telling me to come back later in the week if they did go up in the last 2-3 days.

Have a ton of over/under win totals lined up that I really like. In terms of week 1 lines, so far I am looking at:

    UTAH -4.5 vs. Utah St.

    USC -23 vs. Hawaii

    OLE MISS (ML) vs. Vanderbilt

TEXAS TECH -2 vs. Southern Methodist

    NORTHWESTERN -6 vs. Cal

MISSISSIPPI ST. (ML) vs. Oklahoma St.

PENN STATE -4 vs. Syracuse (big)

FLORIDA STATE -7 vs. Pittsburgh (big)

    ALABAMA -17.5 vs. Virginia Tech

    LSU -5.5 vs. TCU

    NORTHERN ILLINOIS +6.5 vs. Iowa

    ULM +23 vs. Oklahoma

Hoping to continue my decent run last year.

If the So Car -11.5 holds up, take that. South Carolina is a good SEC team against a not so good unc team. If that's at so car, definitely take that.

It is in South Carolina, and you are right, it's a great bet. I also like LSU.

Listening to a local sports radio here in Ohio last week and they stated a very high percentage (can't remember exact percentage due to scotch and beer), of SEC against any non SEC opponents. However it was high enough to be impressive and to be noted for future bad bets by me.

LOL, I live in Ohio also(originally from the south) & none of my friends or coworkers listen to me when I try & tell them essentially this same thing.
They hold on to this traditional notion that the big 10 & notre dame are superior to every school & conference.
Oh well, I win lots of $$ from them every year come bowl season.

This is confusing. They stated a very high percentage of SEC vs Non-SEC....? What's next? Lose, win, against the spread... what happens?

quickly looking at least year's week 1 results it looks like the SEC was around 4-5 ATS against the spread vs non-conference opponents
