I signed up for a texting promo with Ellis Island last trip and then got an email from Hooters today for theirs. How many casinos have this kind of deal going on? Anyone know of any others? Free slot play or match plays that are this easy to get are worth me setting up and then deleting once I get back home.

CET has a system where they send you an email a week before your reservation where you can sign up for their text offers. Before their offers were all over the board but lately you can specify if you want food deals, show deals, or drink deals I think.

I always go food for that elusive $5.99 Rio Carnival World Buffet breakfast text

Thank you for that tip! I got my email a few days ago and didn't really read it well since I won't pay for an upgrade. I promptly deleted it. I just went back and read it, signed up for the texts, and I'm ready to go.

Glad to hear it helped you! So many deals out there but some are harder to find.

How do I sign up for this promotion? I'm going to Vegas on Sunday for 5 days and I would like to get some offers text to me.

For all CET properties you can use this link http://www.caesars.com/mobile/text/

Most MGM properties have the same sort of text program. However you must sign up for them individually. Just go to the MGM web site, and click on the specific property your are interested in. When there, look near the bottom of the page for words like contact us, wireless, or mobile. Click there and fill out the forms and your good to go.

CET texts run for 2-3 days, while MGM's seem to be much more random.

Should I sign up when I get there, right before I go or does it matter? Not sure how long the offers last.

Thanks for the info. I just signed up for the CET text alert just to see what it was all about. I immediately got a text for 2 for 1 drinks at any Bally's bar. The thing I noticed is that there is no expiration date. So, I'll see what might come to my inbox that I will be able to use on our trip in October. :peace:

Do you have a smartphone in which you can download the free app FourSquare? Ive used it for years and esp good in Vegas. Its a GPS that tracks where you are at the current time. You then "check-in" from the list they provide you. You can also link it to Facebook/Twitter so when you "check-in" all your Facebook friends will see where you are at in Vegas. The best part, well at least the last time I was in Vegas in July, there were numerous 4sq specials. For example, I was able to save $5 off each buffet at Paris. Many other CET props also had buy1get1 drinks at the bars. You simply check in to the hotel/restaurant/bar, the special will populate on your phone, bring it to the rewards desk, and they give you a coupon.

You can also actually view all the specials without even checking in as well. I see that there are coupons for the CET props for buffets, a free frozen hot choc. from Serendipity 3 with purchase of more then $10, and 2 for 1 drink specials at many casinos....check it out bc its free and easy.

For CET offers I sign up the day before I leave. They send you 2-3 offers per day for 3 days, so you can use them during your visit. The offers are usually good for 4-5 days and include shows, food and drink specials.
As for the MGM offers, you can sign up anytime. As I said before the offers I receive from them are much more random and tend to be mostly for reduced room rate or shows.

How can you see the specials without checking in first? I've tried and I can't see them.

Every time I saw a sign that said to text for deals, I did it. I didn't see anything better than the coupons I had at the time. But, it was fun to get those texts. I would do it again.

    Text Offers

Not sure where to post this, but in the past, we have received text offers for specials while we were in Vegas. We signed up by texting some phrase to a number and then received the offers. Can anyone help me with this? TIA!!! Heading to Vegas on Jan. 2nd.

If it is the CET Texting Program you used, you text VEGAS to 227466 to start and STOP to the same number when you are through with the program. Here is the link to the website.
