    Heynow Gamblers.......

Booking a room for three nights midweek there in October, going for shows in the big venue.
Probably move to the Strip for the weekend.

I read a couple reviews and for the most part we don't really match what appears to be their demographic. I will however do my best to keep up with the kids :drunk:

What I guess I'd like would be some hints on closest tower to the venue, most recently renovated, quietest , casino and hotel layout. Pretty much whatever anyone might have to say about the place.

    Thanks everyone.

    Good luck out there......:peace:

are u talking about the pearl if so it doesnt matter witch tower as long you not in the palm place which is the condo part and a walk.the palms tower was just remodled.

quite will just depend on who is staying next to you, above u or below you,you can never tell. otherwise any room will be fine.

if u like steak eat at nines it rocks and so does simons.

    Hope this helps

I have been going to the Palms since 2001, when it opened. I believe Paperposter and I and the two most regular ones.

    1. All towers are close, the Palms is really not that large. To be accurate, the closest will be the Fantasy Tower(where defunct Playboy Club was Tower). Next would be the original Tower, probably further than the Fantasy Tower by 200 feet. Furthest, Palms Place.

    2. Most recently renovated, the Original Palms Tower. But, I have not stayed in a room since renovation. My last trip I was in the Fantasy Tower. I always requested rooms 21-101 or 21-102 through 24-101 or 24-102 since I enjoyed looking at the strip when it was lit up.

    3. Quietest, this one is easy. Palms Place. Palms Place is the condominium tower, so it is owned by people, but Palms manages the renting of the places. At the Palms Tower and Fantasy Tower, it is possible that a pool party could be happening(doubtful for October) and they can be loud and heard at 3 AM IF you are on the east edge of those towers.

    4. Palms Tower and Fantasy Tower are on the east side, closest to the strip with great views of the strip at night or at 4 AM, when you are going to bed. Palms Place has great views of ????? Palms Place is on the far western side of the property and is about a two minute walk from the casino.

    5. Pools Palms Place has a nice, quiet pool. Palms has the loud, drunk adult pool. I love to be at the loud, drunk adult pool. The SPA at Palms Place is more expensive than the SPA at the Palms.

    6. Food Palms has N9NE, Alize, and Nove Italiano while Palms Place has Simons for nice dinners. N9NE is loud and crowded with great steaks and fantastic lobster mashed potatoes. ZERO view. Alize(French) and Nove Italiano(Italian) are on the top floors with great views. At Nove I HIGHLY recommend Black Truffle Asparagus. Alize is my favorite Vegas Restaurant. Simons is on the ground floor with a view of the quiet pool. Nice to go to if you want quiet.

    7. Casino is attached to Fantasy Tower and Palms Tower. There have been a lot of changes, even since last August. It used to be SLOTS and Sportsbook were on the west side with the table games in the middle right by where the cabs dump you off. The Center Bar there is a good place to meet other drunks and hookers. Two minute walk, via the walkway, with people mover(if working) from Palms Place.

    8. Clubs Ghost Bar and Moon are all that is left. Not sure if something new has gone into where Rain was or where the Playboy Club was. If you think going to the Pearl you will feel old, wait until you go to a club.

    9. Check in Palms Tower and Fantasy Tower share the same check in. If you are staying at the Palms Place totally separate check in, and if the cabbie dumps you at the Palms, you will schlep your bags over to Palms Place.

There is a food court on the west end, near the walkway to Palms Place and Sportsbook. Usual chain restaurant fare.

Palms does/did offer a free shuttle to Caesars. Palms is now majority owned by Caesars. Or, you can walk across the street to Gold Coast, five minute walk, and take their free shuttle. It goes to Orleans and Bills.

Or, if you want a 10 minute walk, you can take the free Rio Shuttles that go to Ballys and Harrahs.

    9. Check in Palms Tower and Fantasy Tower share the same check in. If you are staying at the Palms Place totally separate check in, and if the cabbie dumps you at the Palms, you will schlep your bags over to Palms Place.

I've always enjoyed my stays at Palms, lots of great food options and I like the energy in the Casino. The food court even has an Earl of Sandwich now. I am thinking of booking three nights comped in the newly renovated rooms for my next trip and last two nights at Cosmo on a comp. Palms has always been very good with 3 nights comped as well and I don't feel like I give them a ton of play.

Palms Place one bedroom suites have great views. I could see from Mandalay Bay all the way to Downtown.

I know I'm usually low budget, but its the best room for the price. Ever. Only hiccup is location.

Lots of good info, thanks. The Palms is turning into a favorite of mine. I'll be meeting some friends in Vegas next weekend while staying at The Palms, and trying the pool for the first time.

Any tips for hanging out at the pool? Which bars, areas to avoid, etc.

    Cheers,

    Cosmo

Where did you get this info? I see no investment in Palms by Caesar's in any of their reports.

I spent 2 nights comped in the newly renovated rooms in the ivory tower this week before moving to Cosmo; 29th floor nice strip view. Love the design of the new rooms, clean lines and modern. They threw in a comped cabana, a first for me at Palms. You have a dedicated server with the cabana and mine was a sweetheart. It was a solo trip for me so we spent a lot of time chatting as I chose to use the cabana Memorial Day and avoid the insanity of the pool on my arrival day, Sunday so it was quiet. Chris Brown was at the pool party on the weekend and it was a zoo. The Casino was littered with pool party "goers" for an hour or so after the pool venue closed before they all moved on. I really enjoyed this stay as a solo traveller because everything I needed was right there. Drink service was good once you got that first drink.

Palms website says rain is open on saturdays.

Paperposter where did you hear CET bought palms debt? Do you know if it is going to become part of total rewards?

TPG has roughly 40% ownership in Palms.

TPG and Apollo (both private equity firms) took Caesar's private in 2008 for 50% of the company. (25% each, the other 50% were other private investors) In 2010, Hedge Fund manager John Paulson redeemed his convertible debt for 10% of the company, leaving TPG's share close to 21% where it remains (Neither Apollo or TPG unloaded shares in the CZR IPO last year).

In other words, TPG is an investor who owns a minority share in 2 different gaming companies. Caesar's is a separate business entity, and maintains no direct ownership or control over anything at the Palms.

Curious as people say Palms Place has a separate location for check in.

I have a bachelor party that will have a 2BR suite and a 1BR suite reserved at Palms Place in 4 weeks. We will be checking in on a Thursday afternoon.

I was going to try to tip $100 at check-in and see if I couldn't get us a Fantasy Suite / Penthouse / Villa for a night (or the whole stay). I know odds are low but it's worth a shot. Would we still want to check in at Palms Place? Do they have the ability to move us over to a Fantasy tower or otherwise? Are reservations for all towers connected?

    Thanks!

Also adding that Ghostbar is closing for remodel in July... I think while we're there... so Palms MAY be down to Moon is it's only nightlife option by mid July.... booo!

non unless you gamble enought to get it or book it as a private event for the nite.

palms place is realy nice so im noture why you want to move.
    "
Are reservations for all towers connected? [/' no palms place is seperate but the regular palms which is ivory tower now and fantasey are upgradeable ,depends on ocupancy and weather its a week day or weekend.

ps the regular fantasy tower rooms are as nice as the ivory tower.

when you talking suites to regular rooms its apples and oranges.

i assume you dont have a host or any history with them.be happy with your 2 bedroom at palms place it rocks and a kitchen too.
