That one place in Vegas you never make it to.....

As many trips as we all take to Vegas. We still have that one place we never quite make it to. You tell yourself on the plane over that you will go there, but something always seems to come up and you miss it. I have been to Vegas like 11-12 times, stayed at ballys like 5 times, walked to terribles a few times----------yet I somehow have never been to Ellis Island. No idea how I always let this happen.I have been meaning to check it out for like a year and a half and still always miss getting there.

On Thursday this bad streak will end. First place I stop at after check in will be Ellis Island. Anyone else ever just not made it to a destination in Vegas they were meaning to make it to?

 

Peppermill. Just out of the way! I usually remember it when I see it from a cab heading downtown and always say, "hey, we need to go there." Then promptly forget again.

 

Well, Ive been to both of those, but we haven't made it down to Mandalay Bay or Luxor which means we STILL haven't been to the "Welcome To Vegas" Sign! We are doing it this time, there is NOTHING going to stop me!!!

 

Have to preface this by saying I didn't visit Las Vegas from 2005-2012, so there is a lot of new stuff I haven't seen. But I have visited now last July, Sept., February and May and somehow still haven't made it to Wynn or Encore. I don't feel bad, I did make a list of things I haven't seen or done before I started visiting last year and already crossed off 12 items. But I keep adding more to the list, there really is just tons of things to do.

 

The Price is Right show.
Each trip my wife says she wants to go but once there she can't take herself away from the machines long enough and says maybe next trip.

 

Another vote for the Welcome to Las Vegas sign. I've been to Vegas at least 16-17 times and have never made it there to do a picture.

I've also talked a lot about going to have a drink and watch the sun set/strip lights come on from one of the high up bars - Mandarin Bar, Voodoo lounge, etc, but have yet to do that.

 

To go to the Riviera! It's the one casino on Las Vegas Blvd that I have never been to in all my years in Vegas. I just wanna say, "yeah, I've been there."
Its too far to walk to, and this next trip I have a 3 day RTC pass so I can go wherever I want. I may just get there this time!

 

Mt. Charleston. Doubt we'll get there next month either, although I'll make a special effort since it's July. I want to see the temp go from 100 to 70 in just a short drive.

 

We've never seen the Pirate show outside TI. I've seen Mirage's Volcano show but my friend hasn't.
She and I have Terry Fator tickets for our upcoming trip so hopefully we can do all 3 while we are there.

 

I've never made it into Bally's. No particular reason, it just seems that it's too easy to bypass. Two trips back I said I was going to walk in that place come hell or high water. We drove in and around that place twice and haven't found the entrance to the parking garage yet. We moved on and said we would hit it later in our trip. Never got back around to it so Bally's is still a mystery to us.

Our last four trips have been to TI and we've never been in Encore as well...go figure.

 

When you are walking the strip just go into Paris, then walk back toward the theatre/bathrooms and use the indoor shopping mall area to go through to Bally's. Two birds with one stone. It's pretty non-descript, though, you're not missing much.

 

Another vote for the Las Vegas sign. lol

I have 2 places on my list that for whatever reason, we never seem to get there. Ellis Island and the Hoover Dam. We have reservations for Hoover Dam tomorrow, so at least that will be taken care of. EI is just up the street from Bally's, so maybe we will finally get there as well.

Then we will need to start a new list. Maybe the Neon Museum (or is it graveyard) and some of the off strip (non-downtown) casinos?

 

The Neon Museum is on my itenary for my next trip. Then again, I planned on seeing it in the past. Now that they have night hours, I'm likely to cross it off my Vegas checklist.

I also wanted to check out the inside of the church next to Encore. I'm glad it has survived all these years.

Hi Jameezy,

The one place I always say I will go to, but never do is Tacos El Gordo. I have heard (and read) some great reviews on this place and I love-love-love street tacos.

So, again I have it on my food list for July. I hope I can make it this time!

For me it's the roller coaster at NYNY.

 

We keep saying the helicopter ride at night over the strip or the one to the Grand Canyon for lunch but when we get there it never happens.
