    Hello vmb!

Happy Father's Day to all the fathers out there.

Gonna be in vegas next week and was looking for a buffet with good seafood and lobster preferably. I know 10 years ago they had these mini lobster at the rio buffet but not anymore. Does any buffets have lobster?

    Thanks

The Rio seafood buffet had lobster when I was there last year. It was mainly tail bits and pieces, nothing fancy. But it was still lobster. :)

Rio buffet does not have Lobster. They do have crab legs after 4. No buffets have Lobster unless the new one at Ceasers does. I haven't been there yet. It costs enough that they should if they don't, but I doubt they do.

The Sterling Brunch at Bally's is the only one that has lobster. They serve lobster tails split down the midline. You could probably build a mountain of caviar on top of that if you wanted to.

I would rather go have steak and lobster at a restaurant, for less than the $100 PP price tag for Sterling Brunch IIRC.
Maybe that's just me though. :rolleyes2:

Do note that the Sterling Brunch isn't a normal casino brunch buffet (Bally's no longer has a buffet). The sterling brunch is a super premium brunch featuring some VERY nice champagne (I don't drink, but I know it's a good value if you do drink). The cost is $90/person.

But they do have lobster and caviar and enough other stuff where nobody who goes feels like they didn't get more than their money's worth.

Rio Seafood buffet HAS lobster. It's rock lobster, and pretty tasty. Along with Sterling.

Sterling Brunch (Sunday only, $90) does have Maine Lobster, but they ruin it by keeping it warm either in an oven or under heat lamps. The resulting meat is very dry. I only tried it once, so I suppose my experience could have been an anomaly, but I am with the previous poster who suggests a regular restaurant for lobster. Ideally, it should be from Maine and you should see them alive in a tank.

Eh, Maine lobster is good (and I used to go sailing in Maine, so I've had a lot of good local lobster:thumbsup:) but other lobster is good too! Rock /spiny lobster yum yum. It's not the same, but that doesn't make it bad:peace:

When I ate there, they had "slipper" lobster tails, small but tasty.

I love the Sterling brunch but the lobster can be a hit of miss. I have had some over cooked lobster but when it is good its not bad. Do the Sterling brunch at least once then decide if the price is worth it to you.

    From Wikipedia:

"Slipper lobsters are a family of decapod crustaceans found in all warm oceans and seas. Despite their name, they are not true lobsters, but are more closely related to spiny lobsters and furry lobsters."

Still, a rose by any other name..........

I agree that Maine lobster is the best (something about the cold water makes the meat sweeter). That said, I've had some pretty tasty warm water tails (i.e. Australian) as well

Where are you getting this info from? The Rio Seafood Village Buffet does offer lobster. It is usually mixed with other tidbits, including large shrimp, etc., but there is lobster. Perhaps not the best, but it is lobster, nonetheless.

Perhaps you are confusing it with the Carnival Buffet at Rio, which does not have lobster. There are indeed two buffets at Rio.

And, no, Caesars Bacchanal buffet does not have lobster.

Thanks for all the info. GF decided we gonna look for a nice seafood place with lobster instead of a buffet with lobster!!

    Wish me luck!
