For little things you want to share without making an entire thread.

    My example:

At Paris they have $7 Skyy and Redbull at Gustavs. But you have to ask for it specifically or they'll pour it house vodka and charge you $14.50 per the bartender I had.

This is interesting. Perhaps a bit of a disingenuous action by the casino.

I've always found that gaming bars have sad cocktail pricing. Gustav's should be for VP comped drinks only.

So are you saying only people playing VP at Gustav's should be able to get a drink? Walkups not allowed?:confused2:

Not certain if this 'tip' goes here or not, or if people consider it a tip, but whenever I book room(s) in Vegas (or generally anywhere) I NEVER book for more than 2 people in a room, even if I have more people. I've never once been asked about it, and if I was asked about it I'd say there are only two of us in the room, but that friends were storing their bags there to gamble while they wait for a flight (that's my excuse, if I was ever asked, which I never have been).

Cuts the room price in half generally.

I love this idea for a thread....I feel I should have a couple tips, but I think the ones I know are well known on the board, like ALWAYS use the players card so you can get comped at the end of the trip
My personal favorite, however, is to tip your cocktail server a $10 when ordering a specific liquor, then another $5 when she brings it back, she will NEVER let your drink get empty. Once sitting at a slot (which is weird, bc I usually play tables and haven't had luck with drink service on slots) at TI and the server came by I threw a $10 on her tray and asked for a Bacardi and Coke, she brought me 3. And came by almost every 15 mins with 3 more, I gave her a $5 or $10 every time. then my group joined me and she gave them all 2 drinks without even asking her to. (I included a pic, I was super happy about that!)

Want a drink quick? sit down at a video poker bar, slip a $20 in the machine. bartender will usually come right over and take care of you. Make the minimum 5 or 25 cent bet until he comes back with the drink slowly. tip and leave! I have gotten drinks for 2 hands on a 5 cent machine before and no questions ever asked!

I am not going to use this tip. Its cheap and dishonest. Enough folks screw the casino's this way enough and they will quit serving free drinks for bar top video poker.

If you have to rent a car, take a look at your schedule and if you don't need it for the first day or two, rent it at an off-airport location and you will save big-time on the fees plus you might be able to reduce a couple days from the rental.

You will have to get from the airport to the hotel which should factor in. Check out Enterprise as they will pick you up from your hotel to get your car. They have a site at the LV Executive airport which is a great location if you are at the M or Southpoint (you will need a car at those properties).

For us anymore, we just get primed in the room. We are fortunate that we can drive and bring our own little bar with us. When we are ready to hit the casino floor we bring a drink down from the room. Spotty cocktail service becomes a non issue. Good to know about the Skyy/Red Bull option. Will look into that next week when we arrive at Paris.

I think one of the best low-roller tips is to take The Duce from downtown when it originates, thus being guaranteed a front upper-deck seat. For an inexpensive fare you can enjoy the Strip after dark and if you sit on the left side you have a chance to watch the passengers arrive and depart. A couple of summers ago we watched a young couple board after their wedding at the courthouse. She had on her wedding dress, fun!

Difference of opinion then because I wait and wait for drink service at the slots while pour money in. I have found a way around it and a way to make sure I have a drink when I leave. I don't think it to be dishonest because the casino is making a bet that they will get you drunk enough to lose your money. No minimum is set. I have not found a bar that does not offer this except the ones inside some of the nice restaurants which I am stunned they offer VP at the bar anyways as it cheapens the feel.

Here are mine (although they may be pretty well known):

    1. You can in fact negotiate with a cabbie if you are going TO the airport...at least you can in the mornings, from downtown...$25, which includes tip? - done!

    2. You never, EVER need to walk to the airport. It doesn't matter how broke you are, if you lost your money gambling (and you used your player's card), the casino will comp you to airport if you ask them to.

    3. ATM fees? Nope. If you're downtown, use the El-Co's ATM & get 5% free-play of the amount you withdraw from the ATM. So, -$5 on total fees, but +$25 in free play = +$20 if you withdraw $500.

    4. Put $5 on your pillow the FIRST morning you wake up in Vegas and you will be very impressed with how well your room is cleaned every day you're there. (I also tip $3 to $5 on the final morning).

I'm a Please & Thank You kinda girl  Not only was it something I was taught growing up, but those few words can make people feel good! Say them with a smile and sometimes you can get a surprise (like a waitress who comes back more often) A smile can be contagious!
