Hi All! I currently don't live in Vegas, but have been multiple times over the past few years, in addition to visiting Shreveport. When I stay in Vegas and Shreveport, I mostly stay at Caesar's properties, with what is probably considered fairly low slot play. I mainly stay for free in both locations due to comps presented on my rate calendar. Well, I will be moving to Vegas for a short time and now I'm concerned that should I update my address, that my offers for free slot tournament entry (and other such promotions) will dry up, as they're normally attached to free stay offers, which are most likely presented to me because I live out-of-state. Does anyone who lives in Vegas (or elsewhere) have any input on this?
I lived in Vegas and used to give CET some off and on play. I was Platinum with them and received tons of offers. At one point I had 52 available offers in my Total Rewards account. Some of them overlapped but every one of them came with free rooms. I had offers for concerts at the coliseum, slot tourneys, VP tourneys, gift cards, digital cameras, free play and just about everything else they could offer. 2 years ago at one point I had 15 stays prebooked from 3-5 nights. I also low played them at that time since I gave most of my play to MGM. I then got an email saying 5 future reservations was the max at 1 time and I would have to cancel the extra ones. I ignored the email for about a month while using 5 up and then someone at CET cancelled the 5 extra. After I used those remaining 5 reservations up I barely played there and my offers stopped coming. Its ok with me though since I hate CET and their low budget hotels but me and my friends got a lot of use out of those rooms. All the show tickets, Celine, Seinfeld, Cher,Elton John etc went on CL for big bucks and the rooms that I didn't use got sold to fellow poker players. They have started sending me some offers again to try and get me back but at this point they can go fxxx themselves, MGM takes really good care of me. So ya, if you're giving them some play you'll still get the offers.
Oh, my gosh, thank you for such a detailed response! You addressed my concerns completely! I have approximately 57 offers at the moment, plus a lot of comps on my calendar, and I've been receiving a lot of email offers, including one for my birthday, and I would hate to see my offers diminish, simply for updating my address. When I move I intend on taking advantage of every offer I can, especially the slot tournaments. Again, thank you for your reply, have a blessed day!
I think it all depends on the company. When we lived in Vegas the free room offers/mailers dried up and when I needed a room, I would have to call my host at Boyd. This usually happened when my brothers came to town and I didn't want to worry about a dui. Local weekly offers were plentiful however. Free concerts, free crap, free buffets. The list goes on and on. Anything to get you in the casino. Offers in the LVRJ every week for places that we didn't have Player's Cards. Bogos, match play, a plenty!
i wrote a long deatails about all the properties and what you get as a local compared to a visitor but my computer frooze.so ill start slowly and add to it,. i assume you have nevada licensce. yes it pays to regester and ill start with cet. first as a local you will get mailers with free slot food and table bets depending on your history with them not tied to any hotel offers and some other free stuff as i was invited to the hangover movie marathon tommorrow. also you will still get your usual free hotel offers and show tickets and tournaments ,i know ive tried to book them with out the hotel no luck wich does sux. ps on a side note you can puit your friends and family up for free mgm properties ive been offerd free boys to men tickets and a private party to watch the mayfeild fight and some other stuff not tied to any hotel offer. mgm has website just for locals that tells you what you get where ps locals get discounts at resurants and niteclubs. palms treats locals really well .i get free table bets food and slots each month and show tickets. also as a local ive gotten alot more food comps as a table table player than before.they just treated me to 300 plus dinner at nines steak house. the only place i havent got to change my address yet is ti and wynn ps im pretty sdure i changed mine at the ventian and i recieve nothing from them hardrock as a monthly mailers for locals hope this helps
Thank you Joe and Paperposter for your responses!!! I'm going to update my address, and, I guess, get a Nevada driver license I'm gonna try and take Vegas for all that I can get!

Comp game plan So, I'm going to be moving to Vegas in mid-July for an undetermined amount of time; and during that time I really want to get as much for free/cheap as possible, to especially include free play, free stay, and other comps. I'm a part of CET and currently have a good number of stay offers, with the only negative being the CET has now initiated resort fees, which are not comped on comp rooms, like MGM properties, so I won't be taking as much advantage of their offers as in the past. I'm always on the look-out for the hook-up, so I've been searching out thing to take advantage of when there (on this board, links presented on this board, and on the internet), but I wanted to get personal experience from y'all of things that you can suggest, i.e. match loss at Cosmo, etc. Thanks so much!
Edited to add: I'm interested in what your game plan would be if you moved there, i.e., is there something that you would take advantage of everyday, every week, etc.
Are you Platinum or higher? If so, then the fees should be waived. And I did Cosmo earlier this month. Blew my wad in 8 minutes on a 9/5 DDB (97.87%) dollar machine. They also had 7/5 Bonus with Double Super Times Pay (98.51% w/DSTP) for quarters, if I realized that, I might have blown my money on that instead. Grinded $89 of it back playing 7/5 Bonus (98.01%) on a 100-play penny machine, 25c at a time. Took me a little over an hour to play through $100. And if you win, you're allowed to attempt to lose $100 on a future date (double check that with the desk though). So I wouldn't recommend to start doing this the last day of your trip, just in case you hit big!
LOL!!! Well, while hookers and blow would take my time in Vegas to a whole 'nother level, it wouldn't be a level that I would want to go to. Also, I was thinking more along the level of gettinh stuff free/free in return, so the pool wouldn't really fit into that parameter. LOL!!! Yes, thank you, I want to take full advantage of this offer, so I'm going to check out all the specifics when I get there. I don't want to lose $100, but there's no better way to lose it than with a guaranteed do over. No, I'm only Gold. I don't plan on shooting for anything higher at this time, as I need to pay off bills that I incurred while in school. But, once I get my utilization on my credit cards to a more desirable level, I'll apply for the CET credit card to attain Platinum status, if the offer is available.
