Does anyone have any news on what is going on with what used to be the Lady Luck Casino/Hotel?

I thought it was going to be totally remodeled. I haven't heard anything about it and even searched through 4 pages of threads but didn't see any post about it.

I'm just curious, way back in the day, it was a favorite spot of ours (hubby and I) to gamble. It seemed I always had good luck there.

    Thanks,
    K-9treatbaker

I hadn't read much about its progress so I took a walk down Ogden Street on my long weekend in LV may4-7th. There was lots of construction, and most of the activity at the former LL seemed to be in the Casino on ground level. It was all studded with metal studs and they seemed to be running the wires, ductwork for AC and other utilities in the ceiling. There was also work in the towers but not much visible.

I too have fond memories of the old theater out back on my first venture downtown in 1997. The activitiy there seems to be stimulating a lot of interest and work in the surrounding area, streets, walkways etc.

There is a lot of talk about the downtown changing. Somethings I like and somethings I don't, but change is inevitible and I think overall the changes are good, and I still prefer the small town feel downtown in a huge urban area. If it wasn't for change what would Vegas be, and would there even be a downtown as we know it?

Yes ... I had forgotten about that "showroom" out the back hallway from the LL casino, with the chairs set up on risers. No fancy shows, but usually the musical singers or comedians were entertaining, at a very low price.

Thanks Jimbo, I cannot wait to check out the progress in August and was hoping they might have some of it open. I know, very doubtful. My wife and I both enjoyed playing there when it was open and always walked by it to see if they had finally started construction. I do have one question for those who are interested, why change he name? Lady Luck has/had a pretty cool old-school feel.
