Even though Ive stayed there 3 or 4 times, I keep hearing people putting the quad down and thats making me double guess my next trip.

Are there any other hotels on the strip that are close to the same price?

Just Motel 6. Or maybe Excalibur now that the Quad has resort fees.

Depends on what you mean by 'close'.

$10 a night more can usually get you Harrahs

If you've stayed there that many times before and liked it enough that you'll still consider going back, there's no reason to second guess yourself. It is what it is.

    Since March 1st.

They announced it a while before that all CET properties would charge resort fees. There were numerous posts on the subject right around the time you joined the board

In that immediate area: Harrah's (a little more) and Flamingo (sometimes the same, sometimes a little more)

Down the street a little ways: Bally's (sometimes same price, sometimes a little more)

A lot further down the street: Excalibur (should be around the same price, they usually have facebook deals going all summer long)

As for double guessing your trip:
Getting other people's opinion can be handy if you've never stayed somewhere before, but since you have then the only opinion that should really matter is your own since you will know the quality of the place and what you should expect for your money.

Also, there are a few people here who will post their opinion on things like this, not just The Quad but other hotels or restaurants, etc when they have never actually stayed at these places or in some cases even set foot inside.

Bally's has a pretty great deal going on right now on livingsocial. Has quite a few restrictions and blackout dates though. but it's worth a shot! It comes with freebies so that could save on your other expenses

Using dates I will be there in July for price comparison for 4 nights Thurs-Mon on the casino's website. I don't have a player's card for Excalibur and these prices are higher with my TR card now than when I booked in Feb. We got a full week Thurs to Wed for $140 at Harrah's only paying for Fri and Sat. I'm sure the resort fees will be in play when we arrive in July for the free nights now. So roughly $280 or so for the week we're there which is still cheaper than the 4 nights they are charging currently for that week we are there.

    Harrah's $324
    Quad $165
Excalibur $266 and that is using their 30% off special.

Not included are the resort fees in these 3 prices.

If you don`t mind a short walk to mid strip the rooms at riviera are quite nice and so is the pool area.

If you sign up for a player`s card they don`t charge the resort fee either.

It depends when you are going. Sometimes Gold Coast is in the same range. During a slow period, Harrah's, Flamingo and Bally's can be within a few dollars of it. Heck, at times even Rio is as cheap or cheaper but that won't continue if the renovation is extensive over there. If you've been there four times, hopefully you've signed up for Total Rewards and if so, see what prices you see when you are logged in.

The Quad, Ballys, Harrahs, Excalibur, Luxor, Riviera and Flamingo are all cost friendly. The Quad usually comes close to or beats most of these places in terms of price. If you dont already know, Smartervegas.com has promo codes listed for all of these hotels. Also, a few weeks of playing MyVegas can score you free rooms (you still have to pay for the resort fee) at Luxor or Excalibur

I would never stay at the Quad (when it was IP) again. Just not worth it. I'd gladly pay $100 more for 3/4 nights somewhere else. If you've never stayed there, you will know what I mean after you return. I even stayed in a "Luv Tub" room. Pshhhh!

After booking a trip recently I noticed that the Quad was significantly less than other CET properties. I think this is because even though the casino is renovated the rooms still are not. Next step up was Bally's and the difference was noticeable. The Quad was (and don't quote me) $43 a night and Bally's was $68, so about $15 a night before resort fees. I checked on totalrewards.com.. So my guess is that they are practically giving away the rooms due to the poor condition they are in. Once they renovate the rooms look for the price going way up to the same level as the other 3 star CET properties.

This isn't quite all of it. I think people are also afraid that Linq construction will interfere with room noise and will increase difficulty with casino/strip access from your room. They figure they are just better off staying at Bally's, etc. until construction is completed. So that's another factor that is making them struggle filling the hotel. But I stayed at Quad 2 weeks ago and had no issues with these possible fears (partly because I specifically requested a room that avoided construction noise, Carnaval Court noise, etc.).

I agree that if the rooms get renovated though, the prices will jump. Probably slightly ahead of Bally's, Harrah's, and Flamingo. :(

Luxor is slightly more expensive than Excalibur...but the resort fee is higher ($18 v $15 I think) and Luxor also requires a $50 per day deposit if you use a credit card...which bothers me

I usually stay at Excalibur...its economical, clean, and close to all the places I like to gamble (except Flamingo but that is new since my new found love for Mississippi Stud). Only negative is the kids...which has never caused an issue for me.

Id say Excalibur has one of the best quality to price ratios...IMHO
