    My Trip Report

Flew out at 7am Thursday from Orlando, meaning I had to be up at almost 5am, got a parking spot right next to elevator (always a sign of good luck), flew on SWA, paid for EB, so had an A28 boarding pass, got on and scored a 3rd row aisle. Flight was good, uneventful, watched Django on iPad (If you like Tarrantino, you'll like it, if you don't like him, you won't)
Land LAS and get text message that I have a Mazda 6 in space 520, get to rental center and car in that spot is a Ford Focus...Hmmm.....OK, whatever, put stuff in and head out. At the rental check out, she has a hard time checking me out, then says, that isn't "my car" and it was held, by request, by someone else (A Ford Focus, really?), so asks me, nicely, to return the car to the same spot and pick any car from the "Your choice" area. These aren't really upgrades, but different choices of full size, which I get anyway as a Hertz Gold, so I pick a VW Passat 4-door. Nice car.
I call the number the people at NOBU gave me to let them know I was on my way, being so early (10:30am) there was no traffic and I was at Caesars valet in short order.
As I pull in, I tell valet I was checking in at Nobu and man immediately radios my arrival, "Mr XXX, for Nobu has arrived" and quickly a lovely young lady with an iPad and a bellman with a special Nobu bellmen's cart walk up, greet me, snatch my bags and ask how my flight was, all as we are walking in. We immediately go to the tiny corner that is the Nobu lobby, and she shows me how the elevator works...you scan your key, push button for floor (this is OUTSIDE the elevator, in the tiny lobby) and we get in. There are NO BUTTONS inside the elevator, other than door open and door close. Now, somehow my floor was floor 79...I have no idea how they came up with the system, because this whole tower has maybe 15 total floors.
Nevertheless, we quickly reach my floor and they escort me to my room. She opens door, bellman puts my bag on stand, asks if room temperature is ok and if I need anything else, I give him a five and send him on his way. Now keep in mind, I have not stopped at a desk yet, given a credit card yet, I haven't even shown an ID yet. This is where the young lady and her iPad comes into play. It is here, in my room, she swipes my card and goes though the check-in process, in the privacy and comfort of my room. During this time, a knock on the door and it is the welcoming green tea service, along with a rice cookie, some small apples, chocolates in ribboned box, multi-flavored popcorn (many flavors all in one, like the "Jelly Belly of Popcorn." There was also a handwritten welcome note from the hotel manager.

So, check in was nice and comfortable. As is the room itself. It's not a big room, but is very comfortable and well laid out. The TV is a beautiful Samsung HD unit, that is amazingly sharp.

From the door (bath is immediately to left)

Closet is spacious, has two different types of robes, one white linen and one almost of a black corduroy material. Safe is the big open box, large enough for a laptop or iPad, plus little rack for watches, jewelry and more. See the sandals? There's a black set and a white set, those are yours to take home.

Bathroom is nice, big deep Japanese style bowl sink, the bath amenities are so good, leave your own at home, made by Nutra Bisse, it's top of the line stuff. Room comes with dental kit (toothbrush, paste), shaving kit, vanity kit (even has terry hair ties), nice smelling lotion (not flowery, so even a guy can use it), make up remover pads, night cream pouches (great for dry air of Las Vegas) and nice neutral smelling bar soaps. Two more robes are in the bath, again, one black, one white, but both are the same terry cloth interior with a linen exterior.
The shower comes with a teak stool, so you can do as in many Japanese bath houses, and sit as you bathe. Very relaxing to just sit as the hot water hits the back of your neck, and ladies, you'll find it convenient for leg shaving.

OK, so that's my room...some videos at end of this.

    SO LET'S GO GAMBLE!

I had decided in flight that I was going to walk into the HL Slot at Caesars, drop $200 in a $25 slot to start out...

    Good thing I did!
Heck of a way to start a trip!
    $2500

    Hit this about dinner time
    [IMG]

    Later that evening...$1600
    [IMG]

Friday was up and down...no hand pays, but did go see Tony Bennett's one night only show...Host hooked me and my friends up, 9th row, dead center
    [IMG]

Everything I tried to shoot during show was washed out by the spotlights.

Had dinner at Nobu beforehand, and it was fantastic, the Black Cod Miso is to die for

After that, went to play at Bellagio, was up and down and then got down to only a couple hundred of the bankroll I brought that night, but then my luck turned and I got back to almost even, so while not totally happy, it was better than walking out busted.

Saturday was a day of motorcycle racing, Supercross (dirt bike racing) at Sam Boyd Stadium.

    My view from pressbox
    [IMG]

Did play a little bit when I got back, it was about midnight, after a shower.

On Sunday, early in the day, my bankroll was really taking a hit, and I was getting pissed (bad combo) so I went to Paris to play, usually do well there, took a marker and just started hitting stuff hard and it all fell into place...got lucky

    $3000
    [IMG]

    Shortly after....$1600
    [IMG]

Sunday was a day of goofing around, playing here and there, found a couple interesting machines I could grind out a few bucks and then we went to another race at Orleans...MiniMotoSX....basically, grown people racing little kid size motorcycles

Got bored, so went to Red Rock, friends had never been there, played some pennies, I left even, they left up like $40.
Dropped them off at Hard Rock, went back to drop car at Caesars, then walked back to Paris and did this.....$3600

After that, I was pretty much done and pocket was fat, so paid off that marker and went back to Hotel, knowing I had to pack in morning

Dropped car off at Hertz, got through C Gate TSA non-stop....whizzed though, no one in front or back

and for the end of my trip, and trip report, I bring you irrefutable PROOF that you can win in the airport...won $60 (only put in $20)

Thanks for the room information. Don't know if I could handle having to choose between black and white robes and sandals, would be forever mixing them up, looking for a lucky combination.

Those rooms don't appear comped to me on the Caesars website, but I play at a lower level. If I may ask, were they an outright comp through the website or a host, or a backend comp?

It was a comp on the site. But, I talked to my host (who's based at Paris/Ballys) and said I was the first person she'd heard of getting a comp there, other than the big big players.

Seems I land right on the middle of a mid-level slot player...not high middle, not lower middle.

Do you have facial recognition software that can verify that you are you? How do we know that's not really me with an interpertation of your face kind of like in Face/Off. I'll believe it when I see facial verification. :Þ

    Nice TR, nice hits.

Very nice report! This room is available as a comp to me and I was interested in the location and ease to the strip vs. the Augustus Tower.

Also, do they share a valet or have their own?

Finally, Pro/Con vs. Augustus/Octavius Towers. Other than the special service.

I admit to not knowing one tower from another, but I can't thinking of it being any easier to get to the valet/taxi stand or walkways.
The Nobu entrance is next to Cleopatra's Barge (aka Gossy's Room), which is right by the HL slots and the Palace Court gaming area. It's a few steps from the door.

You use same valet, but they have their own bellman

Dude, the second I hit the first win, I immediately thought of that crap and said "I'm gonna do like that guy did with his VP wins and photobomb my own win pics!"

I even took photos of my W2G's, "Just in case"

Hey, check this out, I opened the "Dental Kit" that comes with the room (Yes, I brought it home, don't judge me), and it's a real wood handle with black bristles, probably one of the coolest toothbrushes I have ever seen, super light too.

Great report! Thanks. Nobu looks beautiful. I can see our seats at Supercross from where you were sitting! LOL! We had a great weekend also. Glad you did too. $200 through a $25 slot!? What do you do if you have 8 pulls at $0? We, for the first time, got brave and laid out $100 of our bankroll over 10 numbers on roulette and got zippo, so we're a little gun shy on that type of thing. Of course, we're much lower level players, trying to stay at $2,000 over a three day trip. $300 in freeplay helped this time. Can't wait for Anaheim! Thanks again!
