Taking a solo trip either late June or early July and I never stayed at Caesars before so I want to stay there but I'm having a hard time on deciding which tower to book? What is your opinion, elsewhere I've read mixed opinions on both (on deciding which one to book).

Unless the view from your room is most important, then its Octavius tower hands down.
The bed and furnishings are way nicer, and with the new walkway to the buffet and pool area its much easier to get around property.

The only downside is walk to get to the strip is much further than other towers if you walk thru the resort. You can get to the street easy via the Augustus tower portico, which means less hassle IMHO.

I stayed in Octavius tower last year and loved it! The Augustus towers are starting to look a little shabby since CET has not been doing room upkeep like they should.

We stayed in Augustus in December, and our room was perfect. It was big and clean and up to date. I would stay there again in a heartbeat. Maybe we got lucky, but we loved it.

    My order of towers:

    1)Augustus
    2) Octavius and Palace Tower. They have the same sq. footage. Newer furnishings in Oct.

It's hard to get a Bellagio Fountain view in Octavius Tower. I have stayed in all three, next time it's Augustus for me.

I would do Augustus since it is closer to front desk and casino.

I stayed in the Augustus Tower my last two trips. I always hated Caesars because I got lost almost every time I went there. After staying at the Augustus Tower I found it was easy getting to LV Blvd, the casino, the front desk and restaurants. I haven't stayed at Octavius but I did like Augustus.

    Octavius/Augustus Vs NOBU Luxury

I have all non-suite room types available and in the past have gone for the Octavius Luxury King. The rooms/location are great but I always get a high floor overlooking the pool whereas i would much prefer a Strip view. The Nobu Luxury KingRoom is also offered as a Comp on my Calendar and has the following description:

    NOBU Luxury King Room
Located on the upper floors of Nobu hotel, the Nobu Luxury Room affords the unsurpassed sights of the scintillating Las Vegas Strip while immersed in Nobu's unique sense of style, luxury, and craft.

Anyone have experience of the Nobu rooms compared to Augustus/Octavius

    Thanks

I stayed at Caesars once in 2009. I stayed in the Augustus Tower over looking the Bellagio Fountains.
It was a nice view. The room, the view and Qua Spa are about the only things I like about Caesars.
I recall posting a few room pictures on here some time ago but I can't seem to find that post.

I guess I should be a little more specific in my gripe, since Augustus is perfectly acceptable to alot of folks. Having stayed their back when it opened vs my last visit in 2011.

    1) Noticed worn carpet fringe pulling away from walls.
    2) Scuffs on base boards.
    3) Television reception / quality was bad on some channels.
    4) Jacuzzi tub water level sensor a little touchy.

Yes these things are kinda petty little annoyances, and not much to bitch about if you are getting a room comp. However I kind of view it as matching the room product CET is selling against Wynn and Palazzo.

Would I take an Augustus fountain view room over Octavius, in a heartbeat. My pool view view in Octavius last June was awesome.

Both are great, had Augustus w/ fountain view and Octavious w/ pool view. Tie breaker I would say is the walk to Octavious as our room was 3 rooms from the end. If walking is a problem go with Augustus, if not I would ask which ever had the best view as I like to look @ the views in the a.m. and when we return at night.

I'm not concerned with the walk at all, other than when I'm wasted and I get lost in the never ending world of Caesars. Is Octavius really worth the extra $50 for me?

I have stayed in the Augustus Tower numerous times, and in the Octavius Tower once. I prefer the Augustus Tower because of its proximity to the Casino, and hotel entrances. Moreover, when I have had a few too many, I appreciate the location of the Augustus Tower elevators.

    Not Augustus

Stayed in an Augustus tower room this summer. Knobs missing on furniture, mold in all corners of the shower enclosure, cheap Chinese shampoo and soap. Going back to Wynn which is head and shoulders above CP.

I think that they selectively go in and refresh rooms in Augustus. When I did stay in that tower, everything seemed new and the front desk clerk mentioned something about whenever they redo a floor, they make it non-smoking. I don't think every room in that tower is in bad shape.

I just returned from a stay in the Augustus tower and our room was in good condition. View of fountains was amazing and I like the close walk to the casino and the exit.

We just stayed in the Augustus Tower and everything was fine - very clean room, no worn furniture or carpeting. This was our 3rd stay in the Augustus and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

I don't think it is worth an extra $50 for Octavius. As a matter of reference, I'm a Diamond Player who typically gets comped rooms in Augustus. On more than one occassion, I've arrived and Augustus is booked and I end up in Octavious (which I prefer for furnishings and in the summer due to the proximity to the pool).

I'm guessing that since Augustus/Octavious have their own checkin (ask to be dropped at the Flamingo Road Entrance), switching between them at check in won't be a problem.

In the winter, Augustus is definitely closer to the strip and increases the likelihood that I will go to the gym since it is in the tower. At the end of the day though, Octavious is just styled a bit trendier, which I wouldn't pay extra for.

I can not comment on Augustus but I can say I went solo (5 days) in January and stayed in Octavius. Had a great view of fountains and everything was perfect! ( the fact that it was comped didn't hurt ,lol) I know a lot of people say it's a hike, maybe I'm just a quick walker, because I didn't find it too bad. Granted just going from Caesars property to the strip is a walk in and of itself.
    Happy planning!
