Does anybody know where I can rent a car for just one day somewhere on the strip? I am staying several days but need a car for just one and would like to rent it from somewhere on the strip (not the airport).. That way I can go out for a day trip and drive around town and then just turn it in the next day.. Something quick and cheap..

Anywhere and everywhere. Where are you staying? Almost all the hotels offer a rental service, usually Avis or Hertz. Probably not the cheapest option but unlikely to break the bank for a 1 day rental.

I rented a car for a day when I stayed the Excalibur from Budget and they came and picked me up. The location was across from the Orleans if I remember correctly. But most hotels have a rental car location so just shop around a bit.

OK, since I have never done it I never noticed.. I am staying at Bally's.. All of times when I have rented a car it has been at the airport for the entire duration of the trip. This time I want to venture out for just a day since most of the time I am drinking and do not want to drive.

There used to be a Dollar Rental counter at Bally's, but maybe now gone ??
However, there is a Dollar Rental at Treasure Island.

For Bally's use the Hertz desk at Paris, in the check-in area. The garage is between Paris and Bally's.

gguerra, I would use Expedia first to check on general rates. When you run your search type in Las Vegas and then scroll to the Strip. When the results pop, change the radius to 1 mile. That will give you rates for the Strip area and you can then check the cheapest ones by going to the respective company website. Once there, use http://www.best-car-rental-tips.com/ for discount codes.

OK I did a search on Expedia and Priceline for just the one day and it looks like $68 net for a mid size.. The price for Friday Jun 14 (1030pm) to Tuesday Jun 18 7:30 am is about $115 net price ($19 a day plus fees). So the difference is only $47. Kind of a no brainer to just get it for the whole time I am there if I figure in the cost of the cab to and from the airport, even if I leave the car parked most of the time. If I keep searching I may even get a better price than the $19 a day. BTW all of these prices are with Budget.
