I have my flight booked for June 2-6, but I'm still struggling with where to stay this time. I'm female in my early 40s, single and traveling solo. I want to be social since I'm solo but also have plenty to do on my own.

What would be some good hotels where I won't feel surrounded by 20 somethings the whole time? I have a car. Budget preferably under $150 (with resort fee) per night.

Aria would be my choice in that situation. Also, Bellagio might be in your price range on those dates.

Try the Paris or Caesars. Caesars has a great pool area.

Although I'm not a woman, nor am I in early 40s anymore  , I have certainly observed plenty of 'solo' women of that general age in the FSE area.

I would think most of the hotels on Fremont would be just fine for you... Nugget, Plaza or 'theD', if you're very-used to the Strip...the others have smaller rooms and smaller bathrooms, but they're all 'ok' for any solo traveler.... and I personally think downtown is far more 'socially-fun' for 40s+ folks than the Strip has been for many years.

If you're needing the Strip for some reason, I would think any of the more-established properties would be fine. MGM, Luxor, Mirage or TI... if you are a 'Total Rewards' member, be sure to look up your account on-line. For $150 a night (or way less...perhaps even comped), you can easily stay at Caesar's or Paris.
    Have Fun!

Aria is a little over my budget for my dates. No promo rates were available the 1st two nights.

I tried total rewards but I don't currently have any offers, so any of the newer towers at Caesar's are also coming out a bit over budget. Paris would still be an option, and I've stayed at both MGM and Mirage before so either of those could work.

Topcard- I actually stayed downtown on my last 2 trips, last time at GN with an ex and before that at MSS with my mom. Since I want to do some shopping and see a show or two this time I was thinking of staying on the Strip.

I don't recommend MGM Grand. There are mostly people in 20's and 30's that stay and visit there.

Age 40 is the graduation age for MGM. Someone over 40 would most likely feel a little out of place there.

    Mirage sounds right.

I've booked one of the resort tower king rooms at Mirage. Thanks all.

You both think Paris would be a better choice than the Mirage? Can I ask why? I've never stayed at Paris before so I don't really know that much about it.

Mirage is a great choice. I'm in my 50s and don't want to be around a ton of 20 & 30 somethings. Mirage is clean, nice and has great customer service. The rooms are nice and overall is a great place to stay. Have fun.:peace:

One of the pluses of Paris for a woman travelling solo is that you can walk through the hotel to Ballys and are a few steps away from PHo, so if you are uncomfortable walking alone at night, you have a couple of other options available to you.

Anyone who thinks Paris is better than Mirage is probably lacking some perspective.

Since the OP mentioned staying at Mirage before, one would think it wasn't somewhere she wanted to repeat. Otherwise, why even ask?

Sorry, my fault. I should have mentioned that I actually really loved the Mirage. My concern was more than in the past when I had stayed there with my ex, it was in a Tower Suite so I wasn't sure if I would be comparing my room to that.

Many females would pick a standard room at Paris over a standard room at Mirage simply b/c of the bathroom. If you're not planning on an upgraded room this trip, that might be something to consider.

I had booked a Tower King room at Mirage so it has a bathroom that's a bit bigger with 2 sinks, a standard size whirlpool tub and a separate shower. Most of the bathrooms at Paris look like they might be a similar layout?

Similar, but my rooms have only had one sink and the tub has been a soaking tub (nice enough, but no jets). Separate shower stall. Not huge by any means but very functional. (And a lot bigger than a standard, somewhat cramped Mirage bathroom with the tub/shower combo.)

BTW, I've always liked Paris as a place to stay. Location is great, rooms are always clean, and it's normally a very quiet hotel. (I'm a light sleeper.) Was just there for a couple of nights last week and my only complaint was the effort by CET to try to charge a early check-in fee at 2pm. But they assigned me a nice corner room at the end of a hallway and let me pickup my keys at 3pm, so....
