With some tips from other site, I was able to book the Cosmopolitan for $53 a night via Hotwire from 6/30-7/3. That week and some other days seem to be available in the $50-60 range. Basically, you're looking for the pet friendly 5-Star "The Strip - South area hotel". My understanding is that only could be the Cosmo. Not a fan of doing these blind hotel deals and being nonrefundable, but can't beat the rate.

    Could this be Paris?

Don't think so. Cosmo seems to be the only hotel people are getting. The possiblities Hotwire lists are MGM Skylofts, Vdara, Aria, Mandarin Oriental and Cosmo. I think Cosmo is the only one of those that could be considered pet friendly.

No way. Paris is not considered a 5* hotel on Hotwire (nor should it be).

However, it is VERY common to get Aria deals on Hotwire, and Aria is also a 5* south strip hotel. My friend recently booked a 4 night stay in May at the Aria doing it the blind way (but he knew it would be Aria based on BetterBidding).

nice find! I'm guessing it also was listed as recommended in 85% of Hotwire customer reviews?

Yep. It had 85% approval rating and was confirmed as Cosmopolitan after I paid.

Tried those exact dates since I am going those exact dates plus 2 more days. The rate is now over 100 per night. Still a good deal, but I already have mirage booked for very cheap. I would cancel for cosmo for 75 per night or less, but any more I will stick with 130 total for 5 nights.

Yea i've been seeing that on BetterBidding.com too. If it's not Cosmo it's 100% Aria. Win/Win for me. (if it says no casino it's Vdara). I saw someone win it on Priceline for $49!

Even on a weekend I saw it for $95 on Hotwire, good deal. Think i'm going to snag it for my next trip!

Man that is excellent! Cosmo is the hottest hotel casino on the strip. Great location too!

Is it for a city studio (without balcony)?

Do you have the option to pay extra for a balcony room?

It gave you no options on room type, not even beds. Anyone try the $20 trick there? From what I've seen it doesn't seem like it's been too successful at Cosmo

    Price is up

Now $99/nt for our dates; was $72 the other day. Still a good rate.
They offered us an upgrade for $30/nt when we checked in--but you could try the $20 trick as well.

It should just be the standard city room, with Priceline and Hotwire it's just the standard room usually. But yea, you could try the $20 trick. Even just a regular room there, it's still a great deal.

On the Priceline express deals it gives you the options of a "suite" as well, so that is probably the 1 bedroom terrace (but it's 3x as much money)

Do note if you bid or buy it could 100% be Aria as well, make sure you wouldn't mind that if you bid.

Nope, it was Cosmo--said "Pet Friendly" which Aria does not.
(as confirmed on betterbidding.com, and the OP who booked it)

So is the Hotwire price final? If Hotwire says the "Trip total is $500", is it really $500? No extra resort fees and such? For my dates, it's showing $87/night for a grand total of $509. On Cosmo's website, the same dates would be $980 to book directly with them. Quite a savings and its only $100 more than my current reservation at PHo.

Aside from the resort fees, I'm also wondering about bed types. I'm going with a buddy so we need 2 beds. How do you select that in Hotwire?

When you get to the final page of booking and Hotwire says "Trip total with taxes is $500" Then that's your final cost for the room...but does not include resort fees.

You can't select bed types in Hotwire. You are just getting whatever the hotel has when you check in. You can ask the hotel at check in for a certain bed type but since you booked on Hotwire the hotel won't guarantee it. However, I've had that go either way at check in. Sometimes they seem easy going and will honor the request, other times they won't and will say something like, "Well you did book with a discount website"

I have seen an option to guarantee a bed type with Hotwire only once when blind picking hotels. It was all the way down at the bottom of the page for that hotel, and was like $10-$15 more then the basic rate if I remember correctly.
