For those that live and gamble in Vegas strip playing table games, what type of comps do you get and what do you do with comps? I imagine comps are different for locals than out of town guests.

Yes, the comps they send locals are different than what they give out of towners.

Locals will still get show tickets, free dinners, food/drink comps but the main thing they get is cash back.

The "cash back" usually comes in the form of a "check" mailed to them that they can only cash at the casino and within a very narrow window of time (IE: might be only 3-4 days from when they receive it or maybe up to two weeks. Depends on the casino and their program how long they give, but its usually a short window of opportunity). At some places the "cash back" might only be slot play that has to be played once before it can be cashed outt.

What type of cash back (check or match play)? Do All programs (mLife, Wynn, Total Rewards, Venetian) offer cash back?

Also, locals are ranked based on their monthly theo, not their trip theo. This makes it a bit easier to reach good offers as most casino offers have the same level of criteria, but for locals they can hit the criteria in a month, not a 4-day trip. Mlife does not give cash back as far as i know, they give freeplay.

I lived in Vegas for 11 years and never received a "check" that I could bring to the casino and get cash for it. I moved from there about 6 months ago and still go back just about every month.

I played at a lot of properties. Here are some of the things I used to get.

Palms: Free Play every couple of days, free pulls on Mega Bucks Mon, Wed and Fri and Wheel of Fortune Tue and Thur. Credit amounts from $10-$25 good for the food outlets 3-4 times a month. Tickets to different shows in the Pearl theater. A free gift giveaway every fri/sat.

MGM Resorts, Most of my Play was at MB. Freeplay every 2 weeks good at MB from $125-$200, Rooms whenever I needed them, ticket offers for free tixs to every show at Mandalay Beach, ticket offers for free tickets to just about every show/event at Mandalay Events center and some shows at MGM Grand. If I didn't get a hard offer for a show or event I would just shoot my host a text and he would put it in for me.

Coast Casinos: Freeplay every week from $10-$40, free buffets, free rooms for staycations. Free gift giveaways at the Orleans just about every week.

Hard Rock: Freeplay every week from $5-$25. Credit to use in the restaurants, $10-$25. Free liquor bottle giveaways usually on thursdays.

CET: I used to get the same offers that non locals would get. At 1 time about 2 years ago I had 52 offers available on my account! 3/4 free night stays, slot/poker tourneys, free gifts like digital cameras, gift cards from $50-$100. Sometimes the slot tourneys came with $50-$100 freeplay. Some of the offers were for free stays with show tickets, Seinfeld, Cher, Jeff Dunham, Bob Dylan etc. I would always book the rooms and give/sell them to friends and then sell the tickets. I got $300 for crappy seats to see Cher!

Station Casinos offers really blew! I used to play HEAVY on machines and tables at Red Rock the first couple of years they were open, they used to give me from $10-$20 in freeplay every few days and some free buffets. I would seriously lose like $500-$1000 a week there and that's what I got from them, they can suck a dick.

Venetian/Palazzo: Free rooms in either property a few times a month, free slot play from $15-$100 every week. Free knick knack gifts.

Other places would randomly send me stuff too but the main stuff I used to get every month is above.

Do locals take the offer of free rooms. I imagine locals already has a home so don't need free rooms. Other than that what would local get comped that make it worthwhile.

I lived 5 mins west of MB in Spring Valley in a nice house, still stayed in a nice comped room at least a night or two every week.

We would go down to a casino, play, drink, club and then just stay in a comped room instead of having to pay for a cab or risking driving drunk to get home.

Some weekends I would have friends come in to town and would get the comp suite/room for them and my gf and I would stay there too after a night of partying.

FWIW I have a casino in my town and I get comped rooms 1-5 times a month. I stay there or sell it to friends. If I lived in Vegas I would stay at a strip hotel whenever I could.. I also love within thirty minutes of three other casinos where I have comped rooms but I don't find them as nice or comfy as the one I regularly frequent.

The person claiming casinos send a check to be cashed at their casinos...obviously doesnt live in vegas, that is wrong!!

I agree with this post 100% and red rock does suck a fat dick, first time i was there i lost 6k with very big bets, near damn 2k wager at one point, they instantly gave me a host, the next day i got 12 handpays in a short amount of time, up ~3k...9k swing, then lost it all back and another 6k, 15k gone...what did they give in return, at first its two $100 a month for two months then fucking $40 that only last 1 or 2 days like twice a week, forcing me to come back to them to pull it out, thank goodness there is a station casino near where i stay i only go there to pull put the money then leave, once red rock see me slow down my play they instantly cut me off, the host would ignore my txts, i lost 15k in a very short amount of time and i get $40 once or twice a week is this a fucking joke my previous local casino i get $250 every week plus they give extra free plays sometime its near damn $2k a month in free play with way weaker action!! I asked a lot of the people that played there (all locals) they all say red rock is imfamous for being stingy and they dont care about u they think they own u cuz its the only casino around that area, if u live in summerlin or anywhere close to that area they think u have no choice but to play there

I figure another nice comp a casino could give a local is transportation to and from home so they don't have to worry about driving after free drinks.

When we lived in Vegas we received so many offers I can't even remember anymore.

Sometimes free, other times heavily discounted concert/show tickets at Orleans.

2 free buffets per week at MSS, which I was usually able to exchange for equal value for a meal at 777, through my host. We got so tired of buffets:nono:

Free slot play weekly at MSS. I think it was around $30 per week.

Free giveaways almost every Sunday at Santa Fe Station. Most were crap, but some items we still have and use. Steak knife set, stackable Tupperware set, LED flashlight set, mini vacuum for the car. I can't remember the rest. Oh, a hand crank portable radio which we do keep in the basement in case the big tornado hits!:poke:

Weekly there were ads in the LVRJ for discounted meals, buffets etc.

Free play from places like Stations & Cannery almost weekly.

I had about 15 Restaurant.com coupons left over when we left Vegas and was able to get credits for everyone of them. That has nothing to do with being a Vegas local, but it is a great policy by restaurant.com.

There were literally weekly offers from almost every casino we had ever gambled in, but we never got free room offers. When friends/family came to town we could call our host at MSS and get a room for a couple of nights so I didn't have to worry about a DUI.
