we made it down, and checked in for the first of our 3 nights in the Tower Suite.
Checking in was very easy, no problems with resort fees or anything like that. I was a little concerned b/c I had never received a confirmation email or anything, but there was no problem.

however, our room wasn't ready until almost 6 pm. we had been traveling all day, and the wait was brutal, and the slots were tight.
they kept telling us it would be ready in an hour, and we kept going back, and they kept telling us another hour.

all in all, the room is amazing, we're on the B floor and are right over the volcano with an awesome view of the north strip.

If your room isn't ready at 4, you should make a stink. Odds are pretty good that they'll pay you for your inconvenience if you get above the clerk level. Upgrade, or a meal voucher.

It's unacceptable to be waiting until 6.

I did, and I was EXCEPTIONALLY polite to both the front desk clerk and then a manager (of some sort). I told them, nicely, that I was not impressed with the delay, and they offered $50 F&B.
its not much, but it gets us breakfast, and I appreciated it.

That's good. I think that's about standard. I wouldn't have expected more than that.

Glad you had no trouble at the check-in desk. I have read about a few ( primarily back in Dec when they didn't understand the program) who had issues. We have 2 nights under myself, and 2 nights under my husband booked for May. We will be arriving on a Monday at 1 pm. I know I may have to wait to check-in...hopefully not until 6 pm. In the end it will work out fine, but if we were in the same situation as you ....I would have had to deal with a cranky pissy husband for awhile. We always get a rental car now and leave our luggage in the car until we have room keys in hand. That way we can go off and eat or play while waiting.

Glad it all worked out for you. I know the wait was probably difficult when you have been traveling all day.

Not saying this is attributed to the OP, but I always find it funny that the people whining about not getting an early check in (and I know yours wasn't early) are the ones who have a late flight and insist on a 5PM check out. At some point they need to clean the room. I would rather wait then have them rush through it and find who knows what left over from the previous guest. Those tower suites are big. I know I couldn't clean well in 1 hour. Who knows what kind of slob was there.

it is the one from MyVegas, yes.

the room is pretty awesome, great view of the strip and the volcano and such, but its massive.
kind of too big for just the two of us, but I'm definitely not complaining.
