    Hey all,

Not an M-Life member yet. Going to have to sign up when I go to Vegas as I have some My Rewards.

Anyway, if I sign up now would I get any offers for discount rooms?

Are there any promotions for signing up for M-Life?

You may be able to earn a discount on rooms by signing up prior.

But, if you're planning to gamble a fair amount, I think I'd wait. Many players clubs offer freeplay or some other benefit for signing up in person that I don't think you'll be eligible for if you've signed up online.

The free stuff for signing up in person and the discount rooms may be a wash though.

Perhaps you can sign up your granny and find out and then make your decision to sign up for yourself based that?

It can't hurt, but I'd also recommend signing up for the hotels' individual guestlists. The emails that you get from them often will include discounts, separate and apart from what you get through MLife; though you'll obviously get bigger discounts and/or free rooms once you've been gambling, there are sometimes decent deals from the guestlists that might help you out for now.

No, there won't be any special offers or discounts right now for you signing up - they have to see what level of gambling action you are going to give them before they can determine what kind of offers they will send you.

As for bonuses and promotions when you sign up: Yes, but only if you sign up in person at one of the casinos. Likely you will get some free play ($10-20) and there might be some extra promotion (a free key chain or put so much play in on your card within 24 hours and get a free t-shirt).

If you are just looking for some kind of deals and promotions now your best bet would be to go to the website for a few of the casinos and sign up to their email lists - they will email you promotions from time to time for discounted rooms (no free rooms, unless they do something like a 'stay 2 nights and get a 3rd night free' promotion).

And then as well you can also go to the Facebook page for each of the hotels. You don't need to like them if you don't want but you can just check their wall daily to see if they have any specials or promotions going on. When the slower times of the year come up the number of promotions they post to Facebook definitely goes up, but the notice is usually pretty short (IE: the promotion might be only good for if your stay is in 1-2 weeks and haven't book a room yet - but not all are like that).

As for the MLife card itself:
When you first arrive in Las Vegas and get to your hotel the first thing you want to do is go to the MLife booth BEFORE you check in. You can just wheel your luggage around the casino or check it with the Bell Desk while you go do this.
This is important because when you check in to the hotel you can give them your MLife card and it will immediate link your room to your card - you earn points for your hotel charges paid so this will let you start using those points right away instead of waiting until your trip is over and linking your card up to your room then.
And then just use your card any time you gamble, this will earn you some "Express Comps" and free slot play based on how much you play.

And then finally, at the end of your stay and BEFORE you have checked out you can go to the MLife booth and give them your card (and picture ID) and ask them if they can check if you earned any additional comps.
If you have any additional comps earned they will apply them to your room charges (actual room charges and anything you charged to your room, like if you go eat at the buffet and charge it to your room).

Thanks for all the helpful advice.

Right now I'm not planning to stay at a M life property unless I can get a good deal (which means different things to different people).

But I will need to get a M life card in order to be a will to use My Vegas rewards.

Thanks for the advice on signing the guestbook. I kind of thought if I signed the guestbook that was me signing up for the players card.

Is there one hotel that would be better than another For me to go to to sign up for the M life players card?

I found SmarterVegas to be a good tool to use to find current offers going on, including MGM properties. It lets you still book through the casino, so once you do sign up for an M Life card, you can still get credit for your hotel stay by showing them your card at the front desk.

As for my last trip, I was just a newly minted Sapphire when I signed up online, but used M Life to book my stay anyway. Even though I hadn't gambled a cent when I signed up for the card, I still qualified for the discounted rooms at their properties. It wasn't huge, but it helped me keep in budget. I also called before my arrival, and they managed to bump my rate even lower. Working directly with the resort, I think, definitely gives you some space to work in.

As for your question, someone correct me if I'm wrong, but signing up/picking up your M Life card at any of their properties won't really matter. It's where you USE that card that'll put you on that particular resort's radar. Sign up however you can even online, pick up your card when you arrive, but use it where you plan on wanting to spend most of your time.
