1st time in vegas. Have the go room at flamingo booked. Paris is available for 7 bucks a nite more. The room at paris is whatever their cheapest room is. Any thoughts?

I would stay at the Paris.
The Flamingo has a great pool complex, but if you are comparing just rooms, I would go with Paris.

The Go rooms are small-really small. The bathrooms have a weird sliding mirror door-in a 2 queen room, one of the beds is about 18 inches from the sliding door.

The Paris rooms are nothing special-but given the 2 options, I would go with Paris.

BTW, I'm staying at Paris in a few weeks!

When are you going? Flamingo is right in the middle of all the construction going on at IP/Quad and whatever they are going to do at Bill's. I had a reservation to fially try the Go room at Flamingo but changed to the Paris to give myself a little distance from the construction. Although I am not particularly fond of the Paris Casino itself, I have been happy with my rooms there and I enjoy the dining and the proximity to PHo, Bally's and City Center.

I will disagree with the other 2 posters. The Flamingo go room is a nice room for the price. The 'blue room' in the Paris (which is what you would have is old and renovated).

Go online and look at pictures on google of both rooms (stay away from corporate pictures and look at what real people have taken), also look for videos.

You will soon enough know which one you want.

We will be going the last week of february. When taking everything in consideration (location, casino, type of crowd, construction, etc.) Which would u choose? Thanks for the responses so far!

We are going weekend after this one and staying at Flamingo. It has always been our preferred resort due to comp, location, game choices, atmosphere and room (we always have the GO Luxury with View). I can't speak to the construction, unfortunately, but we still chose Flamingo this time for all the reasons I've stated above. Although Paris is very pretty, we've never really enjoyed the much more subdued atmosphere of the casino, don't prefer their game choices and found the lowest level rooms to be old and rather ugly compared to the GO rooms, which are bright, cheery and a little kitchy, which is just sort of what Vegas should be, IMHO.

It depends on the feel you are hoping for. Paris has a more upscale feel then Flamingo. If you are looking for fun the choice for me would be Flamingo, something a bit more laid back and reserved, then Paris.

Either room would suit the basic needs. Paris is probably a bit nicer with nicer amenities.

    You win either way.

Not when you compare the basic room at Paris to a Go room.

Yeah, we just stayed in a GO room and loved the fridge for our bottled water and booze. Even better was the shower with the extra jets. TV in the bathroom mirror was a nice touch as well.

Does that $7 a night include any resort fees? Not sure what either charge, but the difference could add up.

I know I was looking for a cheap place and I was about to book at the Luxor until I saw their resort fee added 50% to my room cost.

    Flamingo ain't bad

We've stayed at Paris 7 times. It is my wife's favorite hotel in Vegas. On our recent trip we stayed in a Go Luxury Strip View room at Flamingo. The reservation was for a Fab Delux room. Clerk upgraded us and would not accept at tip. The room is smaller than many of the rooms we've had in Vegas. But, it didn't seem too small. The strip view from the 28th floor was awesome. The fridge was good. The construction mess did not impede adventure. Getting in and out of the Valet was a bit different because of the construction. Overall, we thought the Flamingo was just fine. We did all our gambling at Paris and P Ho. So can't say anything 'bout the gaming at Flamingo.

Location of the Paris is better than Flamingo. Paris is a nicer joint. But, if you don't mind a little more walking, location is not that big an issue. $7 a night isn't a big deal either. Stay where you think YOU will have more fun.

    later, GVJ

The GO rooms are nicer.. but the property sucks. I stayed there in November, while the room was nice, it smelled, the halls were dirty, the elevator was almost busted... I'd probably go with Paris, even though the rooms are older. It's a better location, they have great restaurants, and the place as a whole is less.... gross.

There is literally nothing redeeming at Flamingo. No good dining, and the casino isn't great...

I know my parents would never be happy at Flamingo. Nor could I recommend it, unless it's dirt cheap. They would however be fine with Paris.

My first time in Vegas, we stayed with 5 people in a GO room, comfortably.

I've stayed in places with more 'Space"- the executive suite at Flamingo has more open room, but I didn't feel cramped in a GO room.

The bathroom was nice. Big shower and the TV in the bathroom mirror was fun. I was drunk most of the trip- but I LOVED the bathroom TV.

Tell us more and we can help.

Where do you think you will be playing?
    Eating?
    Shows?
    Shopping?
    Drinking?

    etc

Without any of that, either place is fine. $7 is no big deal in Vegas. But, my choice is Paris.
