NY Lotto had no jackpot winner, however, $500k was added, not $300k!? Take5 is still the best overall game to play. Scratch-off cards, are the worst. Sweet Million: $1m - 1:3.8m - $1 vs. 50X the Money(scratcher): $3m - 1:3,893,400 [x3 prize, same odds, but it costs x10] Thus, 3.8m / 10 = 383k 383k x 3 = 1.1m Thus, you are x3.5 more likely to win $3m playing Sweet Million. vs. Lotto: NY Lotto is up to $13.6m, lump sum = $8.8m. Buy $5, get $2QP. However, SM buy $5 get $3QP. Thus, Lotto 1:45m / 14 = 3.2m SM 1:3.8m / 8 = 480k; 480k x 8.8m = 4.2m x1.3 isnt much considering SM's lower prizes are higher; and Lotto's 2nd prize of $164k has been won. vs. Take5: $1m / $50k(Take5 average) = 20; 20 x 575757 = 11.5m; 11.5m / 3.8m = 3 You are only x3 more likely to win $1m with SM than Take5; however, again, Take5's lower prizes are higher. [if Take5 jackpot is $75k+ odds decrease to x2] Take5 vs. Lotto $8.8m / $50k = 176 176 x 575k = 101m that is only x2.2 odds of Lotto; again, the lower prizes are higher. Thus, despite higher jackpots of Mega, PB, SM, Lotto, Take5's lower prizes are much higher. And except SM, others share the jackpot among multiple winners. So, I only play Numbers, Take5, SM, and Lotto if lump sum is $5.5m+
Mathematically the best odds NY state gives is Bonus period for Quick draw when they pay 50% more on winnings, weds or thurs (depending on month), 2 numbers. It pays 15-1 when the odds are 16-1 or 93%. It normally pays 10-1. 15-1 is better than any odds any casino gives for that win. You can keep the big dreams, cause that's all it is. I'll take scratchies any time over any lotto or sweet million games. You have less odds on the big one but much better odds on smaller prizes. This was two year ago.
congrats on winning $50k! However, do the math. Why pay $10 for 1 scratch ticket instead of buying 10 tickets of Take5 for same (or even higher) jackpot?! 'Set for Life' is $10, has: $50,000 1 in: 1,050,000.00 $5,000/WK/LIFE 1 in: 6,300,000.00 If I live 25 years, I'll only get $6m; however, NY Lotto lump sum is now $8.8m. And to win $6m you've got 1:2.3m odds for $10 with SM. Also, there is no limit on Sweet Million winners, but Set for Life no longer has top prizes available. So there you go!
While Take 5 may be the best New York Lottery game to play looking at the odds, they ALL have very bad odds. Not to mention, where is the money going? That's right, it's going to education. Right! What a joke! At least Andy's new gun laws will make us safer.....Got to love those Liberals! Good luck.
there actually is a limit. as per the ny lottery website: "NOTE: Prize values are predetermined, however, in the event that there are more than 5 first prize winners, those winners will share $5,000,000 in proportion to the number of winners" im personally done with lotto/scratchoffs/win4 etc. i play a few bucks on mega and powerball and thats it. i'll save up my money for fun in vegas and AC.
