Well, that's where I am, anyway! It seemed a little dull to say another Texan had joined the crowd.

I've been to Vegas about twice a year for the past 5 years (always Feb during SB and October for some reason), but increased that to 3 times last year.

In 2012 I went in February for SB, June to "help entertain" my mom while my father attended a convention, and October for my very first solo trip. I have to admit to being a bit worried about going solo (which was nothing compared to my mother's mini-meltdown) but to my surprise it was by far my favorite Vegas trip. I LOVED the freedom to do whatever I felt like in my very favorite city.

I'm happy to say I have another solo trip planned for my 39th birthday and plan to be there March 17 - 19 (at Main Street Station) and March 20 - 22 at MGM. Both stays are comped so I figure it's a win right out of the gate.

I really enjoy reading the Boards and I'm sure you'll see me around here and there. I'm hoping I get comfortable enough to post my own TR after my March trip. The TR thread is my guilty pleasure and it just seems fair to maybe leave one of my own!

    Welcome, neighbor!

We'll be Las Vegas March 19-25. There may be a meet-up at some point that week, since several VMBers are going to be in town for the NCAA tournament.

    Happy (early) Birthday!

Thanks for the welcome and early birthday wishes, Kelly! I'll definitely keep an eye out for the meet up threads. I was originally a little bummed about being there during March Madness (SO MANY PEOPLE!) but a possible meet up is a silver lining!

And as someone whose family has been born for generations in Kansas, I'm loving your sig! :peace:

I have noticed, sybgal. It's what convinced me to finally say hello. Well, that and at 38 I'm feeling a little stalkerish "peeking through the windows" as it were. Thanks so much for the welcome!

Honestly outside of the sports books, it just isn't all that busy to me. Yes, the books will be packed during the day, but the rest is wide open. Obviously it isn't dead either, I've just never had an issue doing what I want to do(other than get 3 seats in a sports book. :) ).

It is also near perfect weather at that time. It could be slightly warmer for some of my family at the pool, but perfect otherwise.

Thanks for the heads up, numeno! I've never been to Vegas this early in the year (I've always gone June - December) so I have no idea really what to expect. And the books being busy won't be a problem for me - I love watching football but have never been a huge basketball fan. I admit to completely forgetting about March Madness until I saw it popping up on the Board. :ssst:
