How do I get my money to the casino without the hassle of travelers checks. Hate signing 10 or so of these things a day....
Don't want to open a line of credit either....
has anyone used the travels check card and if so how does it work?

also what about a wire transfer from my bank to the casino?

If I do the card or the wire transfer am I billed anything for use of withdrawals?

Hate to carry a lot of cash

Wire transfer is probably your solution. Shouldn't be any fees associated with the use of the funds, but depending on your bank, there is likely a wire transfer fee (probably each way if you wire any money home)

then I assume I just go to cage daily and sign for an amount I want to retrieve for the day,, would that be correct.
hopefully wouldn't have to multiple times a day....

Not certain because I have never done a wire, but I assukme it works just the same as front money. When you arrive, go the cage and confirm they received the wire and sign whatever paperwork. After that, you should be bale to withdraw funds up to the transfer amount either from the cage or the tables

line of credit just adds another notch on the credit report , and am not crazy about creditors seeing a casino on there....doesn't seem smart....might be paranoid.

How much do plan on needing per day? How long is your stay? Get the cash at home and bring it with you. We will get our bankroll in cash before we leave.

I've opened lines of credit at several casinos over the last two years and my credit rating has not been dinged at all. I normally get a large marker when I arrive, put the excess in the safe and then write a check when I leave. If luck holds like it did this last trip (report to come) then I pay off with cash.

Depending on where you stay, you can use an in room safe or safety deposit box. $7,000 is not a lot to carry to Vegas but probably more than you want if you are walking the streets late at night.

Traveller's checks are a pain and I have not used since living overseas years ago. If you are uncomfortable, carry a few thou and use your atm card everyday. You should be able to get a 1000 daily limit, carry the rest.

Still, Line of credit is the way to go.

Whatever you do, traveler's check card is not the option for carrying cash. You have fees to load, fees to the issuer when you withdraw and fees to the ATM company. Your money will be eaten up in fees before you get to use it.

Carry a few thousand at the minimum. I would carry the $7k myself. Actually take that much often. Vegas is just not some place where people get robbed and more or less than elsewhere.

Also, crooks do not know if you have $20 or $10,000 on you unless you advertise. Right?

Meanwhile, though it will cost $5 at the ATM, that is an easy, and simple way to get money.

Wire transfer, your bank will probably charge you a fee. Or you could go to your bank if they have a location in Vegas, and get money out from there. Could keep money at cage or safe in your room if you didn't want to carry it around.

Wire the funds from your bank or open an account at Wells Fargo since that bank have various branches near the strip.

Unlike others I don't mind using traveller's checks on my trips. Easy for me to get, I just pick them up at my credit union for free.

I usually just cash them at the casino cage when I need them. Show my ID (driver's license) and no problem, they give me cash. Guess for me it's as easy as taking out a marker or withdrawing from a wire transfer. And the good thing about traveller's checks.....I can go to any casino and cash them, unlike wire transfers where you have to go to the casino where you wired them to.

I also have line of credit (markers) at some hotels so I use a combination of markers and traveller's checks for my trips. I try to save the tc's for the end of my trip, hopefully I can pay off my markers with my tc's or bring them all home (if I win, lol) for use the next time.

Makikiboy, that sounds like a good plan too. I bring half cash and have a marker I use when I'm at one of my base casinos and use the cash when visiting others. I'm still carrying 10k + thru the airport until I get to the room safe, but have never had a problem or even thought twice about it except getting through TSA at the airport. It gets more interesting when you win and carry 30k back home
