NO IMPLODING ALLOWED. No exploding, either. No tearing it down, no destruction, no collapsing. It stays up.

How about making it into the biggest LED sign in the world. Or something like this:
Put a Vegas-sized light show on the Strip.

Why would anyone want to repurpose a building that many feel will come tumbling down? Sorry but that bad boy has to come down!

The Harmon is dead. It's simply awaiting final services.

Okay, I'll bite. Playing along with your rules that it is safe to stay up but not put people inside...

I agree that a "attract tourists" type of light show could be a good idea (or starting point at least) In my opinion though, if they do something like this then I think they need to adjust the Strip frontage of City Center to get more foot traffic easily into Aria. Then setup inside Aria something similar to the Bellagio Conservatory. The idea being that tourists need to go see the light show outside and the "fill in idea here" inside Aria. Make the new foot traffic path to Aria run by a gamut of reasonably priced (but not McDonalds or Subway) retailers and restaurants inside Crystals. Maybe with an approach like that they could add new revenue to the place.

I know that idea is blasphemy to people who love Aria and don't want all that foot traffic. But City Center cost a f*ckton of money and I think the more revenue they can pull the better. I gotta believe that Crystals can be adjusted to keep the upscale but make it a little more approachable for the average tourist walking to and from the Strip.

I read it would cost $30mil to tear it down. So putting five mil into it might take the sting out a little.

    It has to come down.

If there is an earthquake and it falls it could kill people.

    Lawsuits.
