Located in the Imperial Palace, I've been told that the Hash House A Go Go restaurant is pretty good. What are your thoughts for those of you who have been there?

We've been there (to this location specifically) a couple times, and it was really good both times. It is easy to over-order there as the portions are monstrous. It's a good place to split dishes with someone (unless you have a fridge in your room for leftovers). My husband loves the chicken and waffles. I like the pancakes, waffles, granola with fruit... Really everything we've had there has been good.

The last time we were there in July, we had about a 15 minute wait at breakfast time – I think it was around 10:30 or so. Not a big deal. I think the time before we walked right in and were seated.

I'm sure we will go there again!

I must say I think the restaurant at the IP is hideous inside. The prices are reasonable and the portions are ridiculous. Food is average at best. With portion sizes like this no wonder North Americans are so fat! (I said North Americans, not Americans..although our portions sizes in Canada are much smaller due to how much more expensive it is up here.

I think you can do a lot better than this place for a meal.

I agree 100% with Gaggles and was just about to post this myself!! The location at IP is horrible - it is dark and dingy with a rug that looks dirty. The staff seemed disorganized and the whole vibe was a downer. In contrast, the location at The M Resort is fantastic, with beautiful views, a very nice interior and the food is great. The staff there is much more amenable as well. They do give huge portions, but everything I have had at the M location is delicious and I have taken back whatever I did not finish to my hotel. I don't think that Hash House alone can be blamed for the weight of North Americans - I think the "all you can eat buffet" is a worse culprit than Hash House, and portions in many restaurants everywhere across the land are really more like three full meals instead of one.

I went to the new one in The Plaza on my last trip for breakfast. I had the sage fried chicken with eggs and some kind of mashed potato. The portion was definately huge but i thought the food was mediocre and a little greasy. I'm glad i went but i dont see what all the hype was about for the fried chicken that happens to be one of their signature dishes. Maybe their lunch and dinner is better.

I've only eaten at the off strip location on Sahara but have to say that I really love going there. The portions are huge but the food is really good. The service is great too. Unfortunately the wait times on the weekend are long but are worth it.

I can't really speak about how the IP place looks but the place has great food.

I think it's more of a novelty than anything else.

Have been to the one on Sahara for breakfast ,1/2 cooked pancakes, and the one in the IP for dinner, huge portions but just ok.

The food isn't anything special. If you're looking for diner level quality, go here.

    My two cents...

Don't expect fine dining. It is what it is: greasy, cheesy, salty, yummy breakfast/brunch food in huge portions. It goes down SOOO well after a hard night of drinking. I'm planning on going to the IP HH the morning after my bachelor party in a couple weeks. Should be just what the doctor ordered! :licklips:

Liked it quite a bit. The only thing that disagreed with me was the potatoes used in the hashes, they were just those deep-fried nugget sort of things. I usually sit at the bar, so get in fairly easily, but they did have a platinum+ line for TR if it applies to you.

The guy sitting beside me last time had the meatloaf, which looked really good, even if he didn't finish it (lightweight). I'm going to try that next.

Totally agree with the meal after a night of drinking idea. Some greasy food, and a few Arrogant Bastard ales, and you'd ready to fight the good fight against the house edge all over again.

One tip, though. Although I'm not big on sweet things, if you are, you might want to eye the amount of syrup or jam they give you as the meal is being served. Seems a little stingy to me, and it might be hard to flag your server down afterwards if you want more, because they do get busy.

The portions are HUGE! I'd say the food is OK...nothing special, nothing horrible either...probably a good 'must-see' stop, but I don't feel very inclined for a return visit. I also agree about having to go thru IP to get there...we don't like even walking inside...feels dingy, musty, smelly, etc.

I've only been the one at the plaza but I wasn'tthat impressed. its a shopw - huge food but not all that great. the time i visited it was quiet yet I couldn;t get coffee and water refills - the food took ages to arrive at the table and the service was poor. Plus little things like pouring syrup over the handle of the knife that held the chicken in place - I grabbed it and had sticky hands (the handle was dark so I didn;t see the syrup) - by the time I'd used the restroom to clean up (not in the eating area!) and then tracked down a server for a new knife the food had started to go cold.

I recall it was expensive too but that wasn't an issue as I was on a comp.

Just a host of irritating little things that say don't bother returning and nothing major to recommend it.. stand outside -laugh at the size of the food that other people order and then go somewhere good/quick/else.

My sentiments exactly. There are much better places to eat in town. One visit was enough.

Is awesome. Don't expect to be able to finish your meal though (nor should you probably try has to be thousands of calories). If you have a fridge in your room, great, it'll feed you for days probably.

the wait staff take pride in portion size rather than quality of the food which is below average. dennys quality is much better.i also had breakfast at i.p. buffet and enjoyed it.:wink2::beer:

I`m going miss that musty smelly ol` Ip.

the dealertainers and whole vibe of that casino is fun.

I would even choose it over the venetian vibe!

    lol

Loved the Hash House at the IP. We ate supper there one night and breakfast the next morning. I am a breakfast food kind of girl, so that hit the spot for me. Their burgers are tasty, but they are so huge, NO ONE can eat it.

They have a burger with mashed potatoes on it. Highly recommnended.
