I am only 2 days from checking into The plaza .. Does anyone know if I can get away with wearing nice jeans and button up shirt to eat there?

    Thanks

Although it's been about a year since I've been there, you should be perfectly fine. I saw a lot of casual/jeans when I went. Had the Spilotro Steak and it was great.

I wore an untucked polo shirt and jeans. I think my friend was in a T-shirt. No big deal. No one said anything, and we did not feel out of place.

Just a word of advice -- the portions are huge. I never leave food and I left some food on my plate. If you are getting a large cut of meat, I would recommend skipping a salad or being smart about limiting sides.

The bone-in prime rib was excellent.

The whole broad experiment is a little weird, though. I could skip that situation in the future.

What's the "broads" portion? Is it just staffed by hotties or is there some, uhh, "entertainment" or something? Just curious . . .

Not hotties, more just women dressed as mobsters wives who will tell you about the history of Vegas, especially as it relates to Oscar Goodman. In fact, if you are a smart ass and say something like you heard he was a mob lawyer, they will respond will cult-like stories about him.

I am not sure if you are supposed to tip them or not, and I assume they will go away if you ask no questions.

If you do not tip, their weirdness is free.

    Proceed with caution.

I will note that I did not tip the broad and was not asked to, and I am still not sure if I was supposed to.

It is not the creepy sexual or escort situation you might be thinking. And you do not ask to have a broad. They just go table to table, mingling.

Hmmm, no thanks. I enjoy history, but I don't want a museum docent (regardless of how she is dressed) lecturing me on Vegas history as I'm trying to enjoy a meal.

I had two come to my table during my meal. Same reaction - weird awkwardness and an uncertainty if a tip was being expected. Made me uncomfortable and haven't been back.

The broads hate competition. when my DW aNd I went, DW was displaying her natural cleavage well, and put the board's plastic bolt -ons to shame. the look on her face was priceless. she didn't stick around.

The broad thing seems cheesy to me.

Nope - it's in the name, too. Been there from the very beginning. I wouldn't be surprised if they phased this out eventually. It's a peculiar gimmick, which is what the revitalized Plaza has been hanging onto - just like the sexy haircut salon for men, mini-golf nightclub and roaming faux-gangster gals.

This is the main one. I would think this is an "after" photo....

That photo is of the same broad that gave my friend and me cult-like lectures on the greatness of Dear Leader, er, um, Oscar Goodman. She is a true believer. It creeped me out.

Yep, that sounds like her. She openly called me a pr*ck on the Plaza Facebook page when I scolded them for starting a resort fee. Then she blocked me. Not wound too tight.....

Are you sure this was at Oscar's and not Drink and Drag?
