Ladies Weekend/Sigma Derby/Zipline and Craps Virgins

This is my very first trip report please excuse any rants rambles or gaps. I quit smoking and that maybe the rant or gap problem

Background on the trip....
This trip was planned by bff and I a few months ago. Our husbands deer hunt and normally we go to our local indian casino for the weekend. This time we thought we would pull off a trip to Vegas. Why not? Rooms are cheaper then here. We have free airfare and would only have to bring a little extra money evillaugh

Well it worked and we even got a few more friends to come along with us. Let me tell you what I learned on this trip. My husband is the one for me and I really do enjoy going to Vegas with him (I will get to why later) My friends are caring ppl and same goes for me if someone needed a money spot or a pack of smokes someone always jumped in on that. I also learned taht 4 girls in a room really isn't that bad for everyone to shower because there is a casino to go to while you are waiting around.



DAY 1

Our flight from Milwaukee to Vegas arrived 30 minutes early 855 pm instead of 925. We got in a cab got checked in fast 21st floor room 21123 great view of the strip and mountains and remodeled recently. Dropped off our stuff, checked for bed bugs and off we were to the mermaid.

Thursday night was the busiest I have ever seen that place. We got a few drinks spent a few bucks and to La Bayou we went. Had a drink spent a few bucks. Guess who won the 30 minute drawing for $2??? Yours truly lol

Dumb ass move of the night was going into golden gate and playing blackjack. continuous shuffle makes me want to punch things. I couldn't win for anything either could my friends. There were a few drunks at our table who were quite entertaining. At this point after about a whole hour of being on Fremont St we are all about 6 or 8 drinks in. Believe me I was so excited my friends were hitting it hard.

Bff started to spin so she went to bed (or so we thought)
The other 3 of us moved on to the fremont for some $3 bj. Now I am not sure how much money I had left when we walked in that place but I know it couldn't have been more than $20. Next thing I know all of my money is gone for the rest of the night. Gotta love my friends but they started to rotate playing a spot for me. They won a little I still lost so we walked back to the the Golden Nugget for bed. Upon entering our room we didn't find bff she came walking in behing us. Turns out she was so wasted she went down to the casino bathroom and puked there. We were all proud and happy for her for drinking. FInally fell asleep 230 am.

-$85 plus whatever of my friends money i lost


DAY 2 we will call this sigma derby and zipline day

at 545 am my eyes shot open and I could no longer sleep so I got in the shower. By the time I got up M was up so she jumped in the shower got ready and on to starbucks we went. Sat on the patio for awhile drank our coffee and hit the bj table while we waited for the other ladies to get ready.

I made a quick $25 while playing with a bunch of drunks who had still been up from the night before they were hitting on us left and right giving us tips fun was had by most. off to the buffet we went. I personally can't stand the buffet at the nugget but I went cause we had buy one get ones and the rest of the girls wanted to go. Suddenly I was hungover as hell. I don't know what happened but it took me awhile to get my food down. No headache at least. After breakfast we went back to the same table and played for awhile I can tell you I was probably up or even.

We kind of split up for a bit you nkow how that goes someone loses their money and wants to move on someone is doing good and wants to stay. I played for awhile and off to the Sigma derby K and I went. We shared a roll of quarters at the D and had an absolute blast. Now my friend K is a long time friend and we have never so much as been in a fight with each other. If we are together we usually have fun. She hits a 40 to 1 and now has a bunch of credits. Drink service is fast and we keep going. I would hit a little she would hit. Our other 2 friends show up and play a little.

We move on from the D and go to 4 queens because there was a huge spin the wheel calling our name. ugh first of all I really don't play many slots I am a pretty prominent $10 a hand bj player. I lose my $10 and move on to the dang wizard of oz lose $40 and run the heck out of that place (this is why I stay away from slots cause I pump my money in too much) We move on to fremont ( or at least me by myself for a few mins) I play $3 bj and double my bet each winning had in a row. I got to the $25 mark and that is when some dumb box 60 yr old woman hits a 14 against a dealers 5. I have a huge double out there and had that dumb box not his the dealer would've busted and I would've won huge. I can't tell you how mad I was. I'm sorry if this offends but I will say it anyways

IF YOU DON"T KNOW HOW TO PLAY BJ PLEASE LEARN FIRST BEFORE YOU SIT AT A TABLE.

I never get mad when I lose my money if I am playing with ppl who know how to play. I prefer to play with obnoxious drunks as long as they are playing correctly.

Back to the fremont after this dumb box left I ended up doubling my money and going to share some lunch with K. We went over to binions and decided we would play craps when we were done eating. By the time we were done the table had changed from $3 to $5 so we said forget it and moved on. Everyone is a craps virgin but me and $3 craps is more than enough for me. Anyhow it is now only 2:30 in the afternoon so we continue on to mermaid for some drinks and slots. I win $40 on Elvis and get the hell out of there before I get drunk and lose it.
We move on the california and sit down at an open bj table and find out it is pitch and we have an extremely rude asian dealer who after we explain we have never played pitch she still bitches at me for not turning over a bj right away. We lose a bit each and get out of that place and head to MSS.

No good bj there that we like so some of us play slots I won another $50 and others stand around. K and I walked up to the bar to meet Joe and Jody for a minute before heading back to our hotel before it gets dark out.

DAY 2 continued......

We decide to try out the zipline. It was worth every bit of my money and all of us loved it. I would totally do it again.

After we get back to GN I sit down at the bj table again. I lose 10 hands in a row boom $100 gone. I put down another $200. Win it all back in about 20 hands and was happy happy happy. it was just my day and that's how things were going. Head back up to the room to get ready for dinner. We go to Lillies in GN i have had it before and tell the girls how great it is. M and I order a bottle of Plum wine (yum) an order of crab rangoon for an app and then everyone orders their meals. BFF has a shellfish allergy, she tells our waiter this and it's the first time that we notice he is going to be a terrible waiter. We don't see him again from the time we get our food. Food comes umm excuse me but you never brought our crab rangoon. Then bff asks him again. our you sure my soup hasn't had any shellfish near it in it etc. He comes back a few times doesn't poor our wine for us we have to do that ourselves, thats it I ask for the manager. The manager takes off our bill an app and one of the dinners. That's nice and all but the waiter was a total ****** bag to us (its' really too bad we are good tippers). I don't know that I will ever go back again. I drank so much this weekend that i can't remember for the life of me what we did after dinner. Oh yeah we went over to el cortez and that crap hole was the beginning of my terrible luck. The only thing good that came out of it was the video craps taught M & K how to play and now they love it. That was the end of our night. ok maybe not i went to our room changed to flip flops took my contacts out and headed to play a little more bj. ended up even

Day 2 i'm up on the trip even after my bad run on the trip





DAY 3... we will call this meatball day our plan was to get really drunk and dance. I start the day off once again by going down to starbucks getting my morning muffin and mocha. After I'm done I hit the BJ table sit down with a nice dealer and older guy from long island. We have a great convo and things are going ok. I love meeting ppl from all over and I always laugh at ppl who thinks its crazy to meet someone from WI. While playing my friends start to sit down and I start to order drinks. We are waiting for everyone to finish up so we can get on the bus to the strip. Our goal is to win big on the cosmo freeplay.
We get to the cosmo start playing our $100 I lose mine FAST. Get the $100 put on my card and make about $70 back. FIne with me but here we go again I start playing the slots and lose most of what I won back. This is why i stay away from slots.
I decide I will go check out the bj tables. ugh $15 two deck ok I will try it. Sit down drop $100 again pretty quick go in for $100 and win most of it back. Drink service was quick the table had good players who were fun. Had a lot of drinks and lost my money down but walked away with some.
At this point in the day i have had 8 mimosas and a cosmo. It's 1 pm and I am well on my way
Here's the thing about my friends and my husband. I'm not an eater I don't need to eat 3 meals a day in vegas. They made me eat LUNCH. WTH? My husband i usually just get a snack if we need one.Somehow we end up at the flamingo food court. ok fine. bff and I are pretty hammered having a good time.
try out the margaritaville casino our dealer is annoying and we lose money. so we move on to the harrah's outdoor. Yay $5 blackjack music and craziness. A few years ago i dropped $200 there really fast so i am gun shy. Plus the stupid tables are are 6 to 5 and I'm not a fan. My friends want to play and have a good time so we play. Dumb ass bff is playing the extra dollar sucker bet and hits gets paid $100. we order shots i wish I could post the pic but it's on my phone and the hassle isn't worth it
Wasn't good or bad made a little money back.

Head over to casino royale to use the bathroom and check out the craps table. M and I play for awhile she learns to love craps more than any other game. I lose a little. We get on the bus and head back downtown for dinner. They are going to make me eat again

day 3 continued

we stop at the bar to use our drink coupons. we have z2 coupons for 4 people. we order 1 miller lite and 1 vodka cranberry to share. we probably didnt even need those drinks but hey what the heck.. we head back to our room and get all dressed up for dinner and i keep drinking as i donlt want to start to sober up and get a headahe. a friend of mine from middle school moved out to vegas 15 or so years ago. everything i get to vegas we meet up for one night. she was going to be coming to dinner at grotto with us. bff went on a rant about service. it wasnt nearly as bad as the nit before.. we ordered way too much food. i maybe ate a third of my meal.
after dinner we walked out on to fremont st and the stage by LVC had a dj. we had a fun time dancing out there for awhile and then we went into mermaid for a few drinks and off to fremont for some craps. it was a pretty fun time. i had 2 rolls while at the table. first one i made 2 points. 2nd time not so great. m rolled for about 30 mins and made ppl some money.
i ended up about + 95
left and went over to the nugget to finish out my night. boy was that bad anyhow at one point i was getting tired and hungover so i bet the $60 which was left in my stack. win big or go home right? i won.. that kept me on the table for a long time and i left with some money and went to bed.

day 4 last morning
woke up showered packed up my stuff and went down to seemy casino host for comps. i earned $25 of starbucks. awesome. had about 2 hours to play and got stuck with a mom/ daughter dumb box learing to play bj. ugh not again.i moved to another table and walked away pretty even.

took a town car to the airport. we got lucky and didnt have to take a taxi. our flight was about an hour delayed so we watched the packer game in the bar. a friend of mine was flying in to vegas around the time we were getting to the bar so i talked to her for a few minutes which was nice.

i love my friends but 2 arer cheap gamblers and bff blows her money and becomes a total buzz kill. i wnill stick to going to vegas with my husband so we can do what we like to do togtether. act a fool while the grandparents have the kids.

 

That's what I love about Wisconsin women!

 

Count me in! Eating is a waste of time and money. I can easily get by with one small meal a day.

 

All in all it was a good trip. I came home with $110 in my wallet. unlike bff who had no money at all and had to charge her way home. I can't wait to go back to Vegas I feel like my time was so short there. it was my shortest trip in awhile so maybe thats why. I don't feel like I played enough long stretches of bj. oh well next time.

Great TR, except for this part. There are lots of threads where this is mentioned, but it is worth mentioning again... (1) Cards are random until dealt, (2) It was her money to gamble as she wants, (3) If you are concerned about the quality of players, find a higher limit table or learn to accept players that are not to the quality you prefer (4) Did you chart the rest of that shoe to see if maybe that card that worked against you in the short term ended up helping you the rest of the shoe? Don't worry, nobody else does, either.

Now with that said, go back to Vegas again and write another TR. It was a fun read.

 

If I could've I would've been at a higher limit table but I have cheap friends. Not everyone at higher limit tables plays better either. Oh and by the way her friends were all pissed at her too.

Glad you enjoyed it. i might not be back to Vegas again for a few years if we don't make it this summer. we will see what happens.

Ok my friends weren't that bad I have had worse trips to Vegas.

 

Yes, that's true in the long run. Believe me, I know how the math works and have been the first one to point this out on occassion. I've sat at tables where someone's stupid played ended up helping me and yes, I noted it at the time and stayed at the table. But when some moron does something as stupid as what the OP experienced AND it ends up costing you a hand (especially a split or double down), it's INCREDIBLY irrititating. Watching stupid is irrititating enough, but when it negatively effects you it's even worse. So I can certainly understand her reaction.

 

The number of times their 'dumb' play will hurt you is exactly the same as the number of times their 'dumb' play will help you. So the only 'dumb' thing is thinking it makes a difference.

 

That's demonstrably false. Read the report again. She was hurt every time.

I might be mistaken, but before your trip, I thought you were the one that loved the Nugget. Reading the report, I'm not sure why?

 

There have been many times where stupid play has helped or hurt me in my 17 years of bj playing. At the time this dumb box made me mad.

Joe I do love the nugget and still do. Just had really bad service at one of the restaurants. Other than that I had a good experience. Nice views from our room, top floor a host who hooked me up with $25 of starbucks lol. Two of my friends weren't too happy about non cheap bj. Didn't have any bad bj dealers this time.

I thought the walkway from CA to MSS was really nice with the shops and restaurants. However, the two deck pitch bj ick. It was very nice to meet you and your wife I really wish we weren't on our way out and could've taken you up on the drink.

 

It was an awesome read, now I am sure I will Zipline and am off to find the coupons you mentioned.
