Monte Carlo suites

Anyone have any experience with the suites at the Monte Carlo? Thanks.....

 

Yes. Pretty much all of them. What would you like to know?

 

I've stayed in a Monaco Suite a couple of times, thats the lowest level of suites they have.

I never have too much to say about rooms: it was spacious, two bathrooms, sofa, couple of tables, king sized bed, they're right off the elevators, flat screen TV, fridge, couple of end tables, looked nice.

I find that on You Tube you can find a video walkthrough of just about every suite in Las Vegas.

I guess I just want to know if they are worth paying the extra $$$ to upgrade from the standard rooms. Thanks dude...

 

I stayed in a spa suite a few weeks ago. It had a "sex tub" (a 2 person jacuzzi tub) that was in the main living area of the room. It also had a wet bar, mini-fridge and a living room, but the bed was in the same space. It was much nicer than a regular room.

 

We got comped a Monaco suite 3 weeks ago. It is really nothing more than a bigger room. It did have an extra 1/2 bath and that was nice. It seemed like the safe in the bathroom was larger than the safes in the regular rooms. Other than those two things we would never pay extra for a low end suite but then again we are the type that are never in the room.

There are 3 types of suites. The Monaco and Spa, which people already mentioned. The Monaco has the extra half bath, the spa has the tub that's in the window. The third is the Diamond, which is the only one that's actually 2 rooms. But it's not much bigger, so it actually ends up feeling smaller because it's broken up into two rooms. But if you want a bedroom that is separate from the living area, then that's your only option.

I've never stayed in a standard room at MC, so I can't tell you if it's worth it. It is to me -- I wouldn't stay at MC in a regular room, because even though I've never been in them, I can't imagine they are big enough, given that it's a low-mid tier hotel (It's definitely not low tier, but it's on the low end of the mid tier).

My wife and I were just debating between the Monaco and Spa suites today (I'm waiting for an offer from my host, which I should get this afternoon) and we really couldn't decide. They both have their good points, and are both very spacious rooms with furniture that's only slightly out of date.

 

Isn't there still a Hotel32 within Monte Carlo, with even bigger/better suites and limo pickup?

 

Yes. But the price jump from regular MC suites to Hotel 32 is very significant. For example, for 2 weekends nights to upgrade from a spa suite to a studio room in Hotel 32, you're looking at probably $300 (for both nights combined.) But the studio room in hotel 32 isn't a suite...it's just a very nice standard hotel room with upgraded amenities, limo, concierge, hors d'ouerves, etc (This is what I stayed in on my last trip.) To go from there to a 'loft' is another upgrade, and that's the first suite level in Hotel 32.

So if you're looking to spend $500 plus a night, we can talk about hotel 32 suites. But I didn't get the feeling that that's what OP was talking about.

 

The "worth" is entirely up to the individual.

With suites, Monte Carlo or otherwise, their big plus is that they look nicer than the standard rooms at the same hotel and have a lot more free space in the room for you to move around in as well as more furniture.

For some people who are happy with the standard rooms and find they have enough space then upgrading to a suite is probably a waste of money for them... for others its a way of treating themselves or making a trip special by having a nice fancy room.

 

Suite "worth-ability" is totally dependent on what you want out of a room. We are the type that do upgrade to suites at low/mid priced properties. I have some medical issues and a sofa comes in very handy (I sometimes wind up having to sleep sitting up). Fridge, sofa, table and chairs. Extra half bath is nice because we are use to that at home. We do spend 10-12 hours a day in our room. We have a Diamond Booked for next month. I would have gone with one of the other 2 but the price was great (considering it is a 2 room suite). If all standard rooms were like Rio or V/P....we wouldn't upgrade, but they are not. If you are there with the guys and out partying all night, a suite isn't worth the added cost. Sucks getting old with medical issues but even people like me love to go to Vegas. We are not looking for fancy, comfortable is our goal. Some standard rooms in Las Vegas have become very sparse in the furniture department. Standard rooms at some hotels are a bed with 1 chair. Now that we are "old" we pay for more than that. Youtube is your friend....there are multiple Monaco and Spa Suite videos up there.
