Is it common for Vegas table games pit bosses to give discretionary comps (e.g., a meal that is not subtracted from your RC account) to gamblers? What are your experiences? Any suggestions for when and how to ask for a freebie? Are certain Vegas CET casinos more generous in this regard than others?

They can do that in Shreveport but Vegas has taken away that option for the Vegas pit bosses in my experience! For CET properties!

I always ask the pitboss for food comps. Some properties may have taken that away but not all.

Don't ask in front of a table full of people.

Which properties can still take care of food comps? I would love to know for the next trip.

Short answer--it is no longer common at all, but not impossible.

Ask after a very long, high stakes, losing session at a non CET, non MGM hotel. Tell them you are not staying at the hotel.

CET hotels are probably the worst place to ask for this.
