New to posting here ive just been lurking and reading for awhile now to get some ideas.Me and a female will be making the trip from ft lauderdale to vegas march 7th-11th for the first time and I'm looking for recommendations.Im 25 she's 23 and casinos aren't the make or break for the trip.We want to stay on the strip but someplace nice with a few decent Lounges or clubs. We will mainly be drinking and wandering around seeing the sites maybe betting a few bucks here and there.Price isn't a huge concern but I'd like to get something that is worth what I'm paying.A nice view of the strip at night from the bars wouldn't be a bad thing.I've been looking at Mandalay Bay as they seem to have some decent nightlife in hotel and the rooms seem nice and it's looks like from the threads here the pool Is really nice.I know it's towards the end of the strip but diddnt know if that was a huge deal.We don't mind walking alittle bit and if she's got heels on I dont mind grabbing a cab.

    Whats everyone input?

Get a Terrace Suite at Cosmopolitan... the view of the strip and Bellagio fountains will win you over (look it up on YouTube). The clubs/bars/lounges here are right up there with the most popular for your age range on the strip. And it's in a decent location that walking around or cabbing is easy, either way.

Check Back with us later for best rates and locations. Too early to book yet the best deals come around 3/4 months before your trip.

    Harrah's props no resort fees...

Planet Ho is great for newbies! See if you can get upgraded to a resort vista room at check in.

Mandalay Bay is definitely not the way to go with what you're looking for. MB is too far down the strip and to walk around and get to places, it sucks.

Aria and Cosmo are great hotels. They have great rooms and a great casino. As far as clubs and lounges, both hotels have a few of them you can choose from. Aria has Haze nightclub and I'm sure you already know about Marquee at Cosmo. XS at Encore and Tao at Venetian is only a short cab ride way. You have tons of options being in the heart of the strip.

If the hotel price is a little high, you can always stay at Planet Hollywood across the street. The hotel room is better than Flamingo, Monte Carlo, or Ballys.

Mandalay has hardly any nightlife besides Foundation Room. I love it at Mandalay though.. but it may not be what you are looking for.

I'm 27, if I was clubbing I would maybe check in to Planet Hollywood it's an easy walk to Paris I know people like Chateau, also Mirage has the new 1oak, Caesars has Pure. Same with Cosmo Marquee (likely the most popular club) and Aria with Haze if your budget allows. Also all of those are pretty centrally located. The last 2 are gonna be likely be double in price. I think the 4 stars are the way to go for your age. I know when I go with my friends, everything inside the 5 stars are just too pricey even if we get a good deal on the room.

I might research some clubs, and then decide that way. If you are drinking it could be good to stay where you want to party.

You should figure out if going out at night is what you're really looking forward to the most first. If that's the case, make sure to budge the cover cost to get into the clubs. For guys 30-50 to get in. For your gf, she should be able to work it to get in for free or usually its cheaper for girls anyways.

On the weekend when the clubs have a huge line, get into the club as soon as it opens with shorter lines. Then you can decide to stay or come back later with the stamp when the club is really poppin. Most clubs will let you re-enter. This is so you don't stand waiting in line for an hour and a half losing your buzz.

Somewhere in the MGM/Paris/Cosmo area would be great. Maybe if saving money Flamingo or Harrahs.

Thanks I'll check into the terrace suites

No resort fees would be nice but it's Not a huge deal,I'm not super thrilled with some of the properties taking 1-200$ a night for incidentals and holding it on my card

Aria seems to have some really nice rooms as far as electronics go and I had planned on hitting up XS and Tao while we are there.Im not too concerned with the price difference between most of the rooms but I'd rather not spend 6-700$ a night anywhere just to sleep lol.I was kinda figuring 2-2200$ For the hotel and 2 round trip tickets? That sound like a normal price for a decent place? I'm pretty use to the hardrock casino in Hollywood by me and I usually pay around 460$ a night.most of what I've seen on Priceline is around 14-1500$ for the plane and a decent room.

Plan is just to mostly drink and party having a good time.I don't need a 5 star hotel but would definetly like to beable to sit on the floor at my hotel if I have to and not feel like I'm going to catch something lol.200-300$ a night would be ideal.

I spend most of my weekends on south beach so I'm pretty familiar with how the door guys treat men,I make sure and bring a lady wherever I go because of that lol.Going out at night will pretty much be the main reason we go,I'd like to have some memorable pictures from the first time lol.Ill be paying for everything so I was figuring 15-2k for 4nights out with drinks.I don't plan on buying Bottle service it would be a complete waste in my case.We both enjoy jack and coke and paying 400+ for a bottle of 30$ whiskey isnt likely to happen,I've been down that road one too many times.Ill make sure and show up early to the better places and come back like you said

Being in a hotel where people the same age demographic is important. The age demographics of Aria and The Cosmopolitan are 30 year olds.

Palms or MGM would be my first choice.

MGM recently renovated most of their rooms. It is a good place to stay for a first trip to Las Vegas. Good location and more of a party
atmosphere. If choosing the MGM, I would call to make sure the reservation is for a renovated room.

Palms' age demographic are people in their 20s. Also a good choice.

Cosmo is definitely the way to go for you. It's nice, has that younger club-like atmosphere, and is located right in the center of the strip with great views.

If it fits your budget, Cosmo is far and away the best choice for you two, IMO. It has one of the hottest clubs in town, plenty of other great bars, some very interesting dining options, perfect location smack dab center strip, a hip vibe and young demographic. If I were 15 years younger, I doubt there’s anywhere I’d rather stay.

Funny, I've been to Palms a few times

the the demographic in the casino was more like 60s-70s! I realize the pool & clubs draw a younger demo, but I wouldn't recommend based on OPs comments.

the weather during your time in early march probably means that the pools might not even be open yet, a couple years ago during spring break, st. patricks day and the opening of the ncaa tourney, the pools were not open at harrahs, and my daughter and friends could not find any that were open.

also, first trip, probably want to be center strip, so the recommendations for cosmo, ph, etc. are probably better that those for way south like mandalay and off strip like palms, especially with the above pool info factored in, it will not be very young at the palms.

Appreciate the response but I'd like to stay on the strip just because it's the first time.its pretty much a requirement it would seem lol

I'll look into the MGM though thanks

    Thanks for the response

I can make it fit if it's going to be a good time.Ive got a good job and money won't be the issue for the most part.I just diddnt want to get hosed on the priced and stay somewhere that I could have avoided and had a better time somewhere else

I don't really mind the older crowd I actually get along with pretty much everyone.I do feel that I'd be better off somewhere they have some younger crowd though because I'm honestly not the quietest when I drink and some of my jokes might offend some of the older crowd lol.Im going to have a good time
But I'd rather not ruin someone else's vacation at the same time

Yeah I honestly wasn't sure what the weather was going to be like at that time of year I just figured of factor it in aswell.Being outside at a pool isn't super high on the list I get enough of that year around in Florida as it is.Ill keep looking at hotels more center strip I guess

    Thanks for the input everyone.

I'm assuming the weather is going To be cooler in early march?

    Early march is usually cool

Highs avg upper 60s. But major resorts will usually have one pool open. Call to be sure

If the price is better, I wouldn't totally rule out Mandalay Bay as others have.

The crowd there is usually younger, more casual, and fun. The property itself is also very nice. They have a beach and beautiful pool area (though not sure if it's open when you're going).

Its a quick $5-10 cab ride to anywhere you wanna go on the strip.

+1 Cosmo! I'm 22 and Cosmo is definitely our scene! Mandalay Bay is WAY too far for what you want to do...being about in the middle of the strip at Cosmo will allow you to explore each direction a different day and take in as much as you can. Also, the more popular/better clubs are toward the middle of the strip around Cosmo and I'm guessing your lady friend will wear heels...so she will appreciate minimum walking to get to clubs.

And just FYI...don't "buy" club passes from the guys on the street "working for tips". Club promotors will be handing out passes and slapping wrist bands on you all over the place completely free when it starts to hit evening time. We made this mistake when we were there for a 21st Bday...tipped this guy $60 for 10 VIP passes and free drinks for the ladies for 4 different clubs...5 hours later promotors were handling the same passes and free drink wristbands out to everyone.

I'm going to recommend Wynn or Palazzo. If bars and clubs are a priority there isn't much better spot to be XS, Tryst and Surrender at Wynncore and Lavo and Tao at Venelazzo and they all have great lounges.
