I have a card at most casinos, but in October, I'm bringing a few friends who have never signed up for a card anywhere.

I'd like for them to be able to take advantage of some of the slot promotions where they give you freeplay if you lose a certain amount.

I just read the thread about Cosmo, but are there any other good promotions going on over the next 30 days or so?

It seems like Tropicana and Cosmo have the best ones going right now.

The three that do this promotion now are Cosmopolitan, Tropicana and Hooters.

    Cosmopolitan:
They are doing this promotion for $100 lost. The big advantage with them is that you get the whole $100 in free play back on the same day.

    Tropicana:
For them its up to $200. However they only reimburse 50% on the same day you sign up, 25% on the day after you sign up and the last 25% on the THIRD day after you sign up (so there is a day skipped in there).

    Hooters:
They do it with the same reimbursement schedule that Tropicana does (50% on the day you sign up as a new member, 25% the next day and then the last 25% three days after you sign up) but it is only for $100

And all three of these promotions are for new signups only.

Almost all casinos have freeplay promos for new members from $5 to $10, with the special promotions from the aforementioned casinos.

The deal is, if your friends are going to be gamblers, it's best to focus play at a property or two. The newbies get the BEST comps, all things equal. I didn't know that when I started and played little $5 and $10 free slot plays here and there.

So many places I could have established good comps in but did not because I played too little my first time.

EDIT: I definitely saw "best" just now. lol Nevermind?

There is no day skipped at the Trop. I signed up on a Wednesday, got my first hundred of freeplay about 15 minutes later. Then got 50 more Thursday around 11 a.m., and 50 more Friday morning at 5 a.m.
Unless for some reason they've changed it, which would seem rather silly to me. I do love that you use the kiosk to get your freeplay, instead of having to stand in line.

TI is offering $5 for new members plus a free spin for more FPlay, with an additional free $5 guaranteed. Last week my wife got the minimums (total of $10)' but I got the original $5 plus $30 on the free spin. Also might check advantageplayer.com since they run a continuing list of Free Signup Bonuses--it's sometimes a bit out of date, but usually very helpful.

The trop promo is real, and it works. Best deal out there IMO.

AS mentioned these are for new sign ups, but here is my question. If I have signed up years ago and haven't used the card since does it expire? Would I be considered a new signup?

At Hooter's specifically, the free play is on special "promo" machines. It's sort of an all or nothing... You play until you hit it big enough to claim a prize (unlikely) or run out of credits. Sometimes this can take quite a while.

    No, thats the old promotion.

They changed it earlier this year where now its a rebate like what you get from Cosmopolitan and Tropicana.

Oh, I'm sorry. That's good news! The old promotion was a bit of a drag. Glad to hear they fixed it up. Too bad I'm no longer a "new" member.

The old program had zero value.

I would like to know as well. I signed up at the Trop and played--but that was over 15 years ago. Ownership has changed hands; but is it the same players club from the '90's??? Would I be considered a new player?

Another question on the trop promo. I am headed out in a couple weeks, and again in late May. If I do the promo this trip, do I HAVE to go back on day 2 and day 3? Or could I lose $200, get my 100 back right away, then just go back in May and get the other $100?
