Woulda loved to put $100 on a straight up Vikes win. 100 to 1? 50 to 1? Vikes are my NFC team being from MN, but even I thought the Niners were going to win by about 30 points. The NFL is a crazy crazy thing.

You bet 100 and get back 355 for a profit of 255

no, not 25 to 1, 2.5 to 1. +255 means you bet 100 and win 255. you'll never see any sort of 25 or 50 or 100 to 1 lines in sports. the best you can find is like 15 to 1 or so in a college blowout game.

When Texas State beat Houston this year you could have had about 135/1 on the Texas State moneyline

JMAN- that Gopher banner is pretty sweet. At 4-0 I would have thought they would at least get 1 vote this week, but I guess not. Still SEC teams with losses ranked. Gotta love the college ranking system. UNH only put up 7 against the Gophs, but put up 61 this weekend.

No NFL game EVER pays even 10-1. A two TD spread is equal to about +500 or so, meaning bet $100 to win $500

I almost walked into the Golden Gate to see if I could buy the banner from them... :)

SEC always gets more pull, that changed when the game changed with the spread offenses and speedy guy this / speedy guy that

MN could win all three of their trophy games this year and may unfortunately get only a sniff of the top 20, a down year for the conference they say. What's funny is they'll probably do really well as a whole in bowl games LOL

I was in doubt about the Jerry Kill hire, but now I am a believer.

+255 is a surprise... figured it'd be higher. I did hear a story that Vegas books are giving a huge home field advantage this season. The theory is that the replacement refs are caving and giving way too many home-field calls. That's hard to argue against after home teams went 14-2 in week 2, and after the debacle that took place in Baltimore last night (not that I'm complaining... I hate the Pats).

The point spread on the Vikings game was only 6.5 to 7.5 (depending on the book). Not sure why you would think the payout for a win would be 50-1? :poke:

and Minnesota Gophers are not ranked because they are nowhere close to being a Top 25 team. I love the Big 10, and I like Minny, but the only team they could beat in the SEC would be Kentucky.

    This thread is funny

The Minnesota bet I regret not making was the over on five wins for the season.

This isn't a theory anymore. Home dogs are 13-5 against the spread so far.
