Been to Vegas afew times, stay at the Plaza, Stratosphere , Venetian and finally the Bellagio. Favorite time...sitting in our Lakeview room, drink in hand with my best friend, my husband and watching & listening to the music watching the fountain show. He's gone now and it's one of my favorite memories. Going back to mark my 70th birthday in a week with daughter and a couple of best girfriends just to show them the view and remember.

Good for you. Enjoy and know he is there with you, somewhere.

We are taking Sister In Law soon, she recently lost husband and neither have never been there. Looking to show her a good time just the same.

We have taken family and friends there and I think we enjoy it even more watching somebody else take it in, and enjoy. It really is a special treat for me.

Thank you for sharing this. It put such a smile on my face on a day when I needed it.

Me & mine less than half your age - and have been together half of our own lives - and we have so many memories together. Vegas and otherwise.

Enjoy your visit. Your best friend will be right there beside you, in spirit.

Have a great trip! Makes me think of my wife...we just had a long discussion about how great it is to be able to have created these memories that cannot be taken away.

Also, the juxtaposition of the sentimentality of your post and your signature picture is awesome! Enjoy your trip!

My wife and I actually have had a conversation about this and we each promised that if when one of us is gone, the other will go and do a "memorial" trip and live it up on the insurance!

The fountains are possibly my favorite thing in Vegas (besides Vegas itself). I was there with a friend recently who didn't understand why I felt compelled to run over to the windows in our room and watch the fountain show whenever it started, and again while we were at Hyde, and again when we were out on the Strip walking around.

Wishing you the best... have an amazing trip.

I couldn't have that conversation. I think my wife would take it the wrong way.

I have made my intentions clear when my time comes, I'm going to be creamated and my ashes droped over the fountains from a helicopter. Sorry folks, but you will have to deal with it! WHy not? Its my favorite place here on Earth, so I mine as well be left there!

Statistically speaking, women have more longevity than men. If Mike's wife realizes that she is highly possible to have more "memorial" trips than Mike, she won't complain or take it the wrong way. Right? Just kidding, no offense to Mike!

My wife does not love vegas the way I do, and would likely not go again if something happened to me unless someone else took her. So that conversation between she and I would seem like I was asking her blessing to continue going if something happened to her without offering anything in return. Much easier just to wait until after she's dead and just go...as morbid as that sounds now that I type it.

We just renewed our life insurance policy for a 20 year term. I think it's time we made that promise as well :).

    Tina...that is a great story, I hope you have a wonderful trip:beer:

My wife and I love Vegas but honestly, I'm not sure how it would feel if I had to go back w/o her. If I had freinds that love Vegas like you seem to, it'd probably be a good time but most of our friends just "don't get" how we can go twice/yr every yr.

I'd get bored anywhere else w/o a casino. I can only sit on the beach or read a book so long and I'm not much of a sightseeing type. To each their own I say...
