Table Games BJ at P-Ho

I don't really care about looking at the girls dancing in the Pleasure Pit area (not that I'm complaining), but last time I was out, roughly 18 months, they still offered 3:2 on BJ. Anyone been out lately and can confirm that this is still the case? I suppose I could call the casino and ask someone, but that wouldn't be as fun...

on the floor 3/2 but they hit on soft 17 and i belive all 8 decks .i belive double deck on the floor isnt bad rules ,its starts at 25 a hand

I don’t play there, so I can’t confirm this…but CBJN lists the low limit 8-deck games and $25 DD games that paperposter mentions as well as 6 deck games that are CSM.

As far as the “playability” of H17 games: it really depends on what kind of minimums you’re looking for. At $10/hand, you aren’t going to find anything BUT H17 games anywhere (okay, maybe at MGM Grand from 6:13 – 6:29 am every third Wednesday). At $25+/hand, though, I’d head to one of the MGM properties for their 6-deck S17 games.

I guess I just need to check around, my past trips it seems like most MGM properties are going to those continuous shuffle machines for BJ (which I and many others hate), but admittedly I haven't looked at limits over around $15. Will check $25 when I'm out there next week as I probably would play that level mostly.

 

Even at $25, you're really going to have to look around to find S17 games. A 3:2 game at H17 with other decent rules isn't a bad option. For S17 vs H17, you're talking about 0.2% difference in house advantage. So on a $25 bet, you're talking about a nickel a hand on average.

So if you play for three hours and get in 200 hands, it will cost you approximately $10 in expected value. To me, that's not worth a trip to a different hotel just for that rule.

If you're playing $100 a hand, the value would be greater, but then at $100 a hand you can find S17 most everywhere, because you can go in the HL room.

 

Well, I’m certainly not going to advise you to play above your comfort level. But, if you do step up to $25/hand, your options will be much greater.

At $25/hand, you can find six deck (not CSM) S17, double after split, re-split aces, late surrender games at Aria, Bellagio and MGM Grand…and I think Mirage might still have a table or two left as well. Usually though, these games will go up to $50 during the prime time hours and on a busy Saturday, you might have trouble finding them at anything less than $100. So, YMMV.

Obviously, if you play 45 minutes a day, I don’t think there is any reason to run all over town trying to squeeze a few tenths of a percent off the house advantage. But, if you're planning on putting in several hours a day, it is certainly worth a little searching, IMO.

Just played at P-Ho in the Pleasure Pit last Saturday night. They had two 3:2 shoe dealt 8 deck H17 games with $15 limits (went up to $25 sometime after midnight) in the Pleasure Pit. I think all the hand dealt single or double deck games were 6:5 but believe all the shoe dealt games were 3:2. Much better than the other CET properties. Played with the same group of 5 at our table for over 4 hours and had a great time. IMO the best part about the Pleasure Pit is not the dancing girls as much as the dealers who in my experience have been very good at dealing and also very fun (as well as being gorgeous.) But I like playing BJ at P-Ho in the other areas as well. If you know where to look you can find a $25 S17 game at some of the MGM properties on non-peak hours. But to me the difference between S17 and H17 does not justify the difficulty in finding that at a table with limits at which I want to play (never go for more than $25 minimum tables). Hard enough now days in Vegas to find good 3:2 tables.

 

The high limit room near the cage is the way to go. I played there last May and was surprised how comfortable it felt. Better BJ rules and even the simple little dividers really made it fell disconnected from the rest of the casino

 

yes but he doesnt play a 100 a hand so its a no go the op.ive played in there alot very nice.

i recomend double deck at 25 a hand i think thats the lowest they go and its 3/2 payout ,its on the floor ,thats the best low play ive seen with odds.

if you have to do cet ,try ballys low play terrible odds but at 10 or 15 a hands thats whats out there.

 

Monte Carlo has $25 and up S17 non-CSM you will find $5 to $15 hand H17 non-CSM also. Bellagio regular floor is just full of CSM games.

 

If you can find that S17 $25 game at monte carlo, you're better than me. My last 3 stays I looked for it and it wasn't there. I know the wizard says they have it, but I couldn't find it, and I even asked.

The $5 Non CSM was all over the place at MC, though, with good rules for $5.

The $25 DD game at PH (and other CET casinos) is H17 & no double after split. That's just too poor for me to play, even when I am being 'flexible'.

I would seek out the games that thecarve highlighted, even if I was only playing $25 a hand.

 

thats how all cet properties are on low end.if you dont go hl then thats the best you get.

 

Just stay away from MS Stud in CET party pits, instead of pair of 6-10s pushing, it's only 10s that push, significant house edge reduction in an already high variance game.

 

Lowest I saw for S17 at Monte Carlo was $50 in the HL room.

Wizard survey isn't very up to date. For example, no Station casinos have S17 at all anymore, yet the survey says they do.

 

And that's rare in the HL room. Once in awhile it runs $50, but more often it's $100. I've seen it at $100 even with nobody sitting there. I make a point to look because I much prefer to play two $50 spots to one $100 spot, so when it's at $50 I almost always play it.

Over labor day they had the double deck game at $50 and the shoe game at $100 (the shoe game is actually a lower HA, due to the rules.) The 2D game was almost always full, while there was rarely anyone playing the shoe game.

 

What are the rules on the DD game that give it a higher HA than the shoe game? Usually, where both games are offered with all the good rules, the DD game has a slightly lower HA.

 

It's typically the Late Surrender, Double After Split, and Resplit Aces rules that are different. If all of these are no, the S17 double deck becomes a pretty bad game for the high minimum - about 0.4% house edge. A 6-deck shoe game with all of those allowed is about 0.28%.

A S17 DD game (which is what the Luxor, Monte Carlo, and others offer) is roughly equivalent to a H17 DD DAS RSA game and only 0.08% better than a H17 6D DAS RSA LS game (which you can find for $10-15 in a lot of places).
