LVH stay ?

We're considering staying for 6 nights at the LVH in late September.
Are the standard rooms nice, or should we book the premium room, for $10/day extra ? I would welcome any reviews or any tips on this Hotel, ie. room location, any new renovated rooms..., how's the parking situation (free?), we will be renting a car.

 

If you don't need housekeeping every day, ask about the Go Green policy where you skip housekeeping and they give you $10 in food a day.

 

Not bad!

I just got back from a 3-night stay there and was pleasantly surprised. I booked through a third party site for a cheap weekend (about $155 for 3 nights) and took a standard room in the East tower. It came with a refrigerator, which was a nice surprise, and had decent beds and an LCD TV. Bathroom had a little wear and tear but the water pressure was good and the tub was actually a little bigger than usual.

I parked in the lot next to the sportsbook because the East tower exit is right next to it. Very easy in and out. They also have a parking structure next to the North tower. It's all free parking.

I think it is a nice value. Pros are a nice (but smallish) pool with a daily happy hour and music, great video poker options, and a great sportsbook.

Food options are a bit limited, and the blackjack options stink. If you have a car it's easy to get around, but if not it's a short cab ride to Downtown and a quick monorail trip to the Strip. No resort fee, but they charge $3 a day for the in room safe, which was annoying.

I think some staff are probably losing interest based on the unclear financial future of the property, and that shows in the service. But otherwise it was a good deal and a positive stay.

 

I booked a 4 night out-of-the-blue comp offer that included $100 fp a few weeks ago. Honestly, I was already comped at the Flamingo in a GO room and I'm a CET gal, but I booked it for the FP. I've stayed here several years ago using Hilton points (I'm diamond with Hilton).

The room was very nice. Bed felt so heavenly soft I considered spending at least one night there, but my friends were on the strip. Room was very clean, nicely furnished, I thought it was a great room.

The problem was the customer service, it was absolutely horrendous.
Every. Person. I. Dealt. With.

The checkin line was miles long, it was the Sunday before the Magic convention began, yet they had 3 (yep, count 'em, 3) people working at checkin. After an hour and a half, a lady from the "VIP" room came out and got me from the front of the line. She was harsh, snippy, and the other 3 clerks in the VIP room were rude to the guests checking in (I was right in the middle of all of them and could easily hear them all).

I had to stop at the player card desk each day to activate my freeplay and the service ranged to complete disregard to downright rude. I called housekeeping each day to opt out of room cleaning to get the $10 FP and the person on the phone was awful. When asked my room number, I stuttered around trying to remember it, and she screamed "Don't you even know your room number??"

For the little time I was there, I was shocked at the attitudes. As I put in my TR, I'm doubtful this place is going to make it in a town where service matters.

That said, I'm diamond at CET and realize I am gushed over from time to time. But I travel weekly on business and I recognize good service, and poor, when I see it. If you can just tune out, and minimize, the service interactions I think your room will be just fine, if it's even close to the one I had. Mine was in the North tower, I'm not sure if it was regular or premium, probably nothing special since it was comped and I didn't asked for anything at all.

Thanks dbueler for the review, since our #1 concern is to get a clean room with a comfy bed, it sounds like the LVH will do fine. Hope the service has improved since your trip. Maybe I'll try the $20 trick...

 

The LVH is my favorite place to stay and the standards rooms are just fine. I've never had to wait more than a few minutes for check in. Parking is ample and several options exist. And, I enjoy the spaciousness of the property compared to cramped quarters in the Strip. The $10 Go Green is a neat perk. Elevators fast and efficient. Excellent sportsbook.
Basically, the place has everything I need.

 

LittleMoney Recommends the LVH

first of all Dewy, thanks for that Bio Green tip....will def use that one.....we have in the past......2 years ago we stayed here (Mrs. Littlemoney and I and even littlemoney's mommy...) they told us then that the east towers had just been remodeled and since they have always been nice. the beds are nice and well most of the rooms I believe are going to give you the Las Vegas Golf Club golf course view....all the upgrades I've read on here are good....what we do is park in the cement parking garage (handicap accessible) and go in and check in first...really never had a long line, even that year and the year before, went right up to the left side of the line and since we booked through casino marketing, skipped the front desk lines, but the line flows regardless when you check in. SPORTSBOOK well is crazy great....love getting in my bets and then hitting the other casino's with my wife. shows there are good if one comes you like. we like the buffet's...going to try and make the best of our coupons they give us at check in.....the casino doesn't have the atmosphere and slots we like....we're still in search of that casino with lots of slots to play....we believe that as soon as I check in, I treat the front desk person nice and give the yes mam and no mam or yes sir and no sir treatment and they like that.....and it seems to work where we go.....no rude is rude and you should handle those situations......my opinion there.....hope you pick LVH its a cool place....like Mrs Littlemoney says, Elvis played there....its like a part of LV history to stay there for us.....enjoy your trip...and all the others......LittleMoney will be at the LVH from November 19-23..

 

The lv hilton was our place for well over 10 years. So many fine people we knew do not work there anymore. With the receivership and layoffs there we decided to stay at aria in august. Many of the reviews of the lvh have been really bad.
