While looking at the fifth street gaming website to check for Downtown Grand updates, the page mentioned that Gold Spike features two restaurants: The Golden Grill and a NY style pizzeria.
The Gold Spike website also says there are two restaurants there.
I haven't been to Vegas since March, but there definitely wasn't a pizzeria at Gold Spike then. There was the Golden Grill, and you could buy hot dogs and chicken wings from the bar's snack area.
Does anyone have any info about a restaurant/eatery at Gold Spike other than Golden Grill appearing in the last five months?

I bet its old. There used to be a pizzeria by the check in desk, but it closed long ago. Maybe it reopened?

I know exactly what/where you're talking about. I bet it's just old copy. Looks like the write-up on the fifth street gaming website is exactly the same as the gold spike site.
The site also says they offer 25 cent roulette, and that's not true either (not as a table game, anyway).

I wrote to Gold Spike's manager after a stay this past February, after during I was sorely disappointed in their fitness center. While being described as state-of-the-art, it actually had only 4 cardio machines, two of which were broken. The tv's had been removed. No weights, mats, towels, water, fans, nothing. It had not been cleaned in quite a long time, either. I also noted that the website still listed the pizza restaurant, which had been gone almost two years at that point. I told him that truth in advertisement was important to me (especially when charging a resort fee for amenities), and that the website should be changed to reflect what Gold Spike actually had to offer. It sounds like, 6 months later, no corrections have actually been made to the website. Here is his personal response:

I just rerturned from there, they have the one rest, they do have some sort of construction going on that looks like it might be a pizza style ordering counter, but it was not close to being open.

As usual the casino was very, very slow compared to the rest downtown. I played BJ 3 different days and was the only on playing the whole time(including friday evening). I talked to the pit boss, who was nice, but commented how slow it was, and maybe they should improve the gambling conditions, specifically mentioning the continuous shuffler, she responded that it's to get more hands per hour, I said" but you're not getting any hands per hour with no players", and that they need to compete to get customers.

She said it's just a slow time and things will pick up, apparently oblivious to the fact that all the other places(plaza ans lvc excluded) were pretty busy. Kinda sad to see them in denial like that, I really felt sorry for the "sexy" BJ dealers, all dolled up in their underwear with not a player in sight.

If they cant identify the problem, they cant fix it, I doubt they can survive long with no changes.

I love the sexy dealers at Gold Spike. They're never very sexy, but they're always a hoot. They all have a funny, albeit slightly cynical, attitudes. Needless to say, it's one of my favorite places to play blackjack.
