Anyone recently get an email to sign up to play in the Golden Nugget online poker room? I got the email yesterday.

I have not signed up. But am thinking about it. I wanted opinions 1st. Looks like I can win free rooms, Landry gift cards, show tickets, etc. It says no deposit - just basically fake money.

Anyone play in this internet room? How is it?

I assume they sent me the invite since I played for a few hours in the "real" GN poker room in Vegas back in March.

Yeah I got one too, I stayed there for a couple weeks this summer and am obviously on their mailing list.

I'm going to probably give it a spin, might as well try and win some free nights for next year :)

They probably sent the invite out to everybody whose email address they have, not just who played in their poker room.

Otherwise yes, it is just play money - online poker isn't yet legal in the USA, but in anticipation of it becoming legal a few of the casinos are launching play money poker sites.

Software is pretty bad. Hard to keep playing.

All $ Deals are for winning daily/weekly tournaments.

I tried this last night. I thought the software was decent, but the players on there are very slow to act.

I tried the daily tournament where the top three get a $50 Landry's gift cert. Guess where I finished. Yep, fourth.

I'm just glad to have the opportunity to win something, rather than just killing time on PokerStars.

Looks like I need to try one of the daily tourneys this weekend. How many players were in it? How long did it take?

154 runners. I went out at about the 3 1/2 hour mark.

I hrink they are still working the bugs out. I tried a heads up tournament the other day and even tough the tourney started with like 15 people, I sat at a table alone till it was down to like 11 people or so. The cash games are pretty funny though. It looks like aside from that particular tournament, freebies are given to highest number of hands or tournaments played in a period.
