I know Total Rewards Properties Comp rooms are the easiest to get. And if you cannot get them, most likely you get discounted rooms with your TR Card.

Which is the 2nd easiest property to get comped rooms? I'm thinking it must be downtown? If so, which one is it? How much does one need to wager until you start getting comped room offers?

The thing is for me i only play poker and bet sports. I have quit playing table games as i lost a lot of money doing this the last few years and have quit. Does that mean its impossible for me to get comped rooms? Well the thing is i don't mind betting small at table games and playing few hours just to get comped rooms if i breakeven which again is very hard. But if one does this at a small time casino like el cortez, las vegas club or small time places... is it possible to get comped rooms?

I played a ton of hours at venetian poker room when i was there. Apparently the comps dont work like normal comps. I don't remember exactly but i played like 70 hours there and earned like $140 in comps but used most of it.

I'm curious but how do you people get those rooms offers at bellagio, venetian and aria? Are you guys betting $100+ a hand of blackjack for like 5 hours a day to get these room offers? I keep hearing people mention how they have like 3 day comped at a place like Mirage and having a $500 free play for table games. But you guys who are getting these offers are betting pretty big and not $25 and under a hand right?

Another thing is I see people mention they get like 4-5 day comp rooms at CET properties. I have never seen this in my account. The max is always 2 free rooms. Do you guys have hosts or something like that to get it? I really don't get how ppl how so many comped rooms at Cet properties.

I'm from the east coast. So the way i get room offers comped at Borgata... i remember once i play like 15 hour of poker in 2 days... then i get 2 free rooms every monday-thursday for like 3 months straight. Of course once i dont play there for like 1 month... then the offers disappear. At Taj Mahal, its simlar. Once i put 15 hours in a few days, i get the 2 free comp nights a week for the month. Of course there is the tax i have to pay. So far... I have never gotten any comped rooms with your CET card in AC ever.

So for las vegas casinos... how does one get those crazy offers at Mirage, aria, wynn and downtown casinos?

Basically can someone who is a low roller in table games get comped rooms at any CET place if they play lot of hours? Because i use to bet big in table games and i lost a lot that way and will not do that again.

Really like advice from low rollers here on how they get comped rooms in vegas especially the non CET ones. Then again, i really want to know how ppl get like 4-5 comped nights at Planet Hollywood!

Sorry for asking so many questions!

George, are you checking the rate calendar and not your "offers" on the CET page?

I would consolidate your AC poker play at CET props if you want to get Vegas rooms. Trump and Borgata don't offer that.

Playing table games to chase comped rooms is a recipe for disaster...but no, you are not likely gonna get 5 nights and $500 in freeplay for playing poker, anywhere. ever.

Hi. Yes i know poker doesn't get those offers in vegas. But i wanted to know what games and what limits people play for table games to get those room offers at the NON-CET properties. Im very interested in the downtown rooms because i'm assuming someone betting $25 a hand and plays a good amount would easily get comped rooms at say el cortez or las vegas club?

yes, but those rooms are relatively cheap...maybe better off staying away from table games and paying for the room of calling for a poker rate

I have a better offer than this at the moment although not massively better. To get this me and my GF play 100$+ each a spin on roulette, on the inside numbers. A few hours a day. Small amount of blackjack and craps play , erratic betting ;).
We also play slots anything from 40c to 5$ a pop.
We play maybe 6-12 hours total a day across MGM properties, 40% probably the Mirage as thats where we were staying last time.

Yes, those rooms are fairly inexpensive downtown.

Comps are a result of action. The house knows they will get a few percent from every single dollar you bet. This varies by game of course, but over time they assume they will get you money.

They get just enough from the rake in poker to cover their expenses - salary, floor space, etc. Not enough left over to give out much. Long discussion about this about a week ago.

I get 5 day comps at PH and all their other joints except Caesars, only get 1 or 2 days there, which is fine because I dont care for the place.

I play a little bit of table games, not even enough to get rated and put about $200 to $400 at risk daily on slots. Of course putting $200 at risk could result in much more on my acct because of the coin in/coin out way of counting it. I usually stay 4 nights.

I play craps starting with $200 buy-in at roughly $25 per hand and pressing once the table gets on a steak, 4 - 5 hours per day (multiple sessions). 2 - 3 trips per year. One trip includes mother playing $.25 VP at +6 hours per day. All play is at the Boyd properties downtown. I like that Boyd gives me the choice of 3 casinos downtown.

Monthly offers are generally for 3 - 4 free nights plus some slot $$$ and $20 in food.

When playing poker I play at the Golden Nugget and after 4 hours I can get a comp for the buffet or a decent meal at the deli.

Instead of quoting your post and then replying line by line, just a few scattered thoughts:

    - Its easy to get cheap/free rooms from Total Rewards because
    (a) they have a lot of rooms in Las Vegas
    (b) their rooms are of lower quality than almost everybody else.

MGM is really the only other one that has a lot of rooms they need to fill on The Strip. There are some two hotel chains (Wynn/Encore and Venetian/Palazzo) but their properties are entirely high end so they are more discerning with the comps.

    - If you want more than two or three nights comped at a Total Rewards property you need to book using the rate calendar, not using an offer. Offers are generally only good for 2-3 nights and won't let you book extra nights free.

    - Just because the Downtown hotels/casinos are older and smaller doesn't mean they are more liberal with the comps. The key here is that they are smaller so they don't have a lot of opportunity to make up money off rooms if they give a bunch away for free. But by searching around you can find some good rates ($20-30 at a lot of the places, or buy 2 nights get 1 free)

    - For getting free rooms at places like Bellagio and Aria people are either betting big and playing for a while at table games, or they are playing lots of slots.

    - Somebody who is getting an offer with something like $500+ in free play is probably taking along a $5,000-10,000 gambling budget that they are cycling through a lot on slots.

    - If you have rudimentary math skills you should be able to calculate out that it doesn't make much sense to go and lose a five or six hundred dollars plus at the tables just so you can get a $50 room free for 2-3 nights.

    - Because poker players generally tend to be either locals or possibly staying at other properties the casinos don't give them the same comps as they do slot or table games players. Poker players generally want things like free food and so thats how the casinos generally tend to gear their comps towards.

I always stay at the MGM Grand and love it there. Im strictly a table games player. My first 1 visit to vegas was at the rio then once i showed the mgm enough action they gave me rooms ever since. Im right near the bottom of getting free upfront rooms at the mgm i think, my Average bet is around 200+ for around 5 hours a day on a Bad Trip On a good trip iv been as high as around 400 average for 5+ hours a day, usually almost always fly in wed night or thursday morning and Leave on a Sunday and my host always gives me a free room, i got a suite only 1 time, and usually all my food and drinks charged to my room are taken care of at the end of the trip, and all the other perks like Limo pickup etc, i get the picture that im right near the bottom of the play line for a free room at the mgm when it comes to table play. maybe im wrong, but i really think they look for that 200 dollar average mark because on my first trip as soon as i was constantly betting 200+ they had a host come out and meet me on the floor and iv been staying at the mgm ever since. Hope that helps you gauge the type of play you need for a room
