I havent heard much about these casinos neither on this board, nor on others. For some reason they are ignored either because they are off strip, value and price is same as more fancier places, or they got bad reviews. No one seems to want to stay in them. Whatever the reason is, could someone point out what the deal is. Stratosphere Hilton Westword Ho Stardust WWF Gold Coast Rio Casino Royale Harrah's Barbary Coast Palms Aladdin Hooters Hard Rock Orleans Terrible's WW West
Stardust was imploded in 2007. Aladdin is now Planet Hollywood, you list is a bit out of date. Lots of fringe and out of the way places, so they dont get as much attention on here. Try searching or googling the names for more info.
Barbary Coast is now Bills, and the HO has been Demolished as well. This list is a lot shorter than the original poster thinks! HA!
Yes, where did you come up with this odd list?? Stratosphere [STRIKE]Hilton[/STRIKE] Now "LVH" - Las Vegas Hotel [STRIKE]Westward Ho[/STRIKE] Demolished [STRIKE]Stardust[/STRIKE] Demolished WWF ? World Wrestling Federation? What is this one? Gold Coast - Check Off-Strip forum, its restaurants & liquor store are often mentioned Rio - part of CET, it gets some attention, Off-Strip forum Casino Royale - mentioned for fast food court and cheap drinks Harrah's - mentioned quite often, Strip hotels, Comps, Construction forum.... [STRIKE]Barbary Coast[/STRIKE] - Now Bills, part of CET Palms - Check Off-Strip forum [STRIKE]Aladdin[/STRIKE] Planet Hollywood, part of CET Hooters - technically, Off-Strip Hard Rock - Off-Strip Orleans - Off-Strip Terrible's - Off-Strip WW West - Off-Strip Most people who post here are talking about popular hotels & casinos on the Strip....
The Orleans gets talked up quite a bit on here.....and for good reason - great atmosphere, great everything IMO.
I kinda forgot about the Palms now that I see it listed. Seems like no one here ever talks about it or stays there. I always though it was a bigger, more popular hotel.
Please remember that most of the discussion that goes on about hotels and casinos tends to focus either on specific questions from people planning trips, or new places/changes to places. So a casino that not many ask about with not a lot new going on won't get many threads. But if you ask about much of your list individually, you'll get responses. Other than that, your list was out of date.
This was a short-lived once-to-be name of the Greek Isles (nee Paddlewheel, Debbie Reynolds). I'm surprised that Countryland USA is not on that list!
Slots A Fun and Mermaids are very rarely mentioned on this forum. I have never been in either, myself, just sayin'
Hilton - I didn't think much of it and it doesn't seem like any fun since they pulled all things Star Trek out Gold Coast - I like this one but it is a truly smoky locals joint Rio - I like this one too but it's the red headed stepchild in the CET Vegas lineup. Rooms are nice, the casino doesn't work for everyone Casino Royale - I don't win here so I don't play here. It has a motel attached and I don't see the point of staying at it even if it's remodeled Harrah's - Discussed all the time. The casino is neat because they have slots you can't find in other CET hotels. Hotel is decent but it think there is better upside at other props. Palms - Not for me Hooters - Not for me Hard Rock - Not for me Orleans - Discussed all the time. One of the most popular locals joints
My coaster next to my computer is a 1776-1976 Bi-Centennial Slots A Fun coaster I got off eBay. Actually I bought 3 and have never set foot in the place, just liked the coasters and the set was cheap.
Whatever the reason is, could someone point out what the deal is. Stratosphere - old look but not old-Vegas...just old. Not fond of the casino Hilton - I really like this place, but it's pretty quiet and seems a bit disjointed Westword Ho - demolished Stardust - demolished and I miss the old girl WWF - ??? Never touch the stuff Gold Coast - I like it...wife hates it(it's the low ceilings and older crowd I think) Rio - love the hotel... the casino is just ok. Used to have best buffets in town Casino Royale - don't waste your time unless you are a group of college kids or want to learn a table game inexpensively Harrah's - I love this casino. Bills and Harrahs are the best on the East side of the strip. Barbary Coast - is now Bill's and is a really fun little casino. get in on a craps game that is already loud. Palms - boring across the board...every other trip or so we go back to see if anything changed and we are always disappointed. Some people like it, just not me. Aladdin - is now a very trendy Planet Hollywood. PHo is a great place to hang out with an above-average casino and great food and entertainment choices. Hooters - Slightly better than the San Remo used to be but still not much happening there. At least they are trying. They do have some old machines that all other Vegas casinos got rid of long ago(which is cool if you like those machines) Hard Rock - I always wanted to like this place more than I do. The memorabilia is awesome...Mr.Lucky's is a great coffee shop...and the pool is super. The casino is not fun. Orleans - Smokiest casino I have been in since Trump AC in the 90's. Terrible's - the casino can actually be pretty fun. Don't try the buffet. WW West - demolished I would put Monte Carlo on this list too as it seems people don't pay much attention to it.
