My wife and I are planning a upcoming Vegas trip after 4 years of not visiting.

What are some of the best shows UNDER $40.00 per person that are available.
(Even if it takes a coupon of some type to get to that price)

    Thanks for any suggestions-
    Guy

Mac King is a funny afternoon show at Harrah's. There are coupons available.

I just bought tickets for Carrot Top for just under $40 per ticket on Goldstar. Never been to his show, but after reading some good reviews we are going Friday. :drunk:

Was that before or after taxes and fees?

It is $37.98 per ticket, then they add $6.50 service fee per ticket. Total for 2 tickets was $88.96 including the service fee.

Carrot Top was actually pretty funny when my gf and i went 3 years ago. He keeps prices low, i think even rack rate is around $50, and it came with a free CT dvd when we bought straight off the Luxor site. Had I known about Goldstar back then I would have gone for the cheaper price though.

There's also Beatleshow which I haven't been to, but it gets good reviews. Livingsocial has a 2 tickets for $50 deal right now. I was tempted to buy but we're going in december and they don't have shows listed yet for then. I emailed livingsocial asking if I can get a refund if they don't end up having a show when I'm there but they responded with a form response saying refunds only up to 7 days after purchase. Oh well, no business from me for them. Foursquare and Yelp seem to have similar deals frequently for that show anyway, even if it is a few bucks more.

Nathan Burton I assume is still at Flamingo. I know the group I was with paid at most $25-$30 and I think that even included a buffet. Nothing amazing, but I got $25 of laughs out of it at least.

    you can get him "free"

IF you are going to be in Vegas a week (the free seats are alwasy next week!) BUT you can always get 10 tickets...coupons all over the internet.
Mac King is better, in my family's opinion.
BUT if you are going by the end of August, Terry Fator is one of the best shows I have ever seen in Vegas, tickets starting at 36

This isnt really an answer but here goes. How about the lounge acts at the various houses..Most have a 1 or 2 drink minimum, which should get ya w/in the 40$ limit.

    http://www.americancasinoguide.com/2012-american-casino-guide-coupon-list.html

    Has coupons for:

2 free tickets to Rivera Comedy Club (was hilarious, would have paid the $25 full price ticket but obvious it depends on who they bring in to headline)

2 for 1 Mike Hammer Comedy Magic at the 4 queens Downtown. Should be around ~$12 a ticket with box office fee. The front desk also has a coupon for $15 ticket (~$17 after fee/tax) but it includes a free drink. They also gave out $10 match play coupons after the show so it was a really good value. His magic routine is similar to Mac King but totally different in presentation/performance. He also brings the drunkest audience members on stage for hilarious results.

$22 ($26 after box office fee) steak dinner+comedy show "Fitz of Laughter" at the D downtown. Dinner was great - steak was mediocre but the D has a killer salad and potato bar. Show was mediocre. I am in my mid 20's and most of the jokes were geared toward the 40+ crowd. Only a few chuckles...pretty disappointing.

2 for 1 coupons for many other shows but I didn't make it to them so no comment :D

Also check this website for free tickets to Jeff Civilico and Jay Bolan: http://couponsinvegas.com/

Jeff Civilico Comedy/Juggling show at the Imperial Palace - Decently funny show. They have limited number of free tickets, probably a $10 charge to "upgrade" if they run out but I did get in free. Pretty funny, not massively impressive but worth checking out. The IP plays towards the LGBT crowd and some of his jokes and actions reflect that. Still family friendly though.

Jay Bolan - Accoustic Retro Rock at the 4 Queens - $15 for 2 tickets with coupons available throughout the 4 Queens if you don't have the coupon but well worth attending. He is a great musician and singer. Sings and plays his guitars to rock from the 60's, 70's and 80's. A must see if you have any appreciation for music.

    Other cheap shows:

Nathan Burton @ Flamingo - the free tickets are almost always gone but you can always upgrade for $10. Coupons available online and in many of the Vegas coupon books.

Magic and Mayhem @ one of the PHo theaters - Saw a free tickets advertisement in one of the coupon books in my last trip. Didn't see it but it was ~$16 to upgrade at the box office if the free tickets are gone.

Cool stuff to see for cheap:

Mob Museum - 3 floors in what once served as the Las Vegas court house. Interactive exhibits, history and cool artifacts. Some of the stuff gets pretty gruesome (The Mob's greatest hits exhibit for one) but there is a door to bypass it if you bring kids. $18 for admission, spend about 2-3 hours there.

Imperial Palace Auto Collections - Even if you aren't a car person you'd be hardpressed to not appreciate the history behind these cars. Many of them are works of art in their own right. $8 for admission, free with coupon here: http://autocollections.com/index.cfm?action=free

My girl and I saw Mike Hammer at 4 queens, magician and comedy on Tuesday. We also saw Absinthe the next day. We both loved Hammer much better and the tickets were sooo cheap I think 30 bucks for the pair with coupon. Absinthe comedy part seemed very scripted but the stunts were excellent though. Hammer seemed to make his comedy routine on a whim. It wasn't vulger either and we were both still laughing the whole time. If I didn't do research on this website I would have never known or gone. Thanks people. If you go downtown go see him.

    Question about Mike Hammer

I've gotten the impression from other reviews of his show that it mainly consists of talking with the audience members and finding something to make fun about them, i.e., their name, home town, occupation, etc. Is this true? We prefer original material rather than insulting people for laughs.

Most of Mike's show involves the audience, either via conversation or participation in illusions. Yes, the participant's individuality figures a great deal in the jokes, whether they be wearing an odd piece of clothing, being a part of a certain group or from a certain place. If that's not your thing, you might not like the show. But it certainly isn't "scripted" and his quick wit and spontaneity are gifts that I've really enjoyed.

    Another question

Thank you, Sam. Regarding Nathan Burton and Jeff Civillico: I understand Jeff opens for Nathan. Do you think it would be redundant to see both shows? If not, is there a preference for order?

I would recommend seeing both, with Nathan first. Jeff's appearance there makes you want more, so his full show makes an excellent meal after the appetizer.

Try dine lv .com. We saw the Japanese Muscle Musical for $15 each, and there are a lot of other. The company was big on customer service. Also Vegas 4 Locals on eBay.
