You probably get $100 per day and only at the casual restaurants. But the only way to know for sure is to ask your host or whomever gave you the offer.

Thats strange when I enquired about RFL with my host at Aria he said "We do not have RFL anymore, but I will give you a $600 credit up front towards F&B"

Generally speaking (always some exception).... you will get a fixed dollar amount per day for food and drink at Aria. It may be limited to certain restaurants. Unless you a big spender, you will can not charge meals from other to MGM resorts to this deal.

In the past, RFL had very little if any dollar limits. That has changed.

Credit card to room? You will need to have your room set up so that you can charge meals and drinks to your room. A credit card is usually needed to open up the account. We always, without question give a credit card when checking in anyways.

Charge everything to your room. Whatever the host does not pick up, you can still pay with Express Comps. I assume you have some of those

Thanks - learn something new every day on this board. On my mailed offer it uses the term "Mirage Rewards" for exactly what you describe.

Question: If I wander over to the Bellagio for a steak dinner, charge it to the room, and at the end of my stay I hit up my casino host to see what he can do, does the host care where the charge came from as he determines how much he can help? Especially if I'm already RFL - would he typically decline to comp off-resort charges? For this example, assume I'm not a whale but that the host is willing to comp $100-$200/day in F&B on top of the free room.

There's no small print anywhere that says how much it's limited to? When we've received RFL offers from the Wynn it said somewhere in small print that it was limited to $250 a day, no restrictions on which restaurants.

Also - who does it say you should call to book? is it "call your host" or a general casino marketing phone number?

Talk with your host and ask. Generally, they are less open to comping stuff from other casinos. Each of them are sort of their P&L, measurements. They can do it if your play is strong enough, and I think if the host wants to push things.

Thanks - I didn't make the connection to the casino marketing guy being measured on non-casino activities. No doubt he has to make money on the gaming side...wasn't obvious to me he would be rated on the profitable use of his hotel's amenities. If he's going to comp a $200 dinner, he might get rated for making his hotel $125 instead of a sister property $125.

That's a shame, though, for low rollers like me. As much as I like a couple of things at my casino, I would rather explore all of the MGM properties. Of course with such limited comps I suppose I can burn off my comps quickly, using Express Comps & cash at other locations while still building credit towards future corporate (and potentially even host) offers.

Can I piggyback a few questions about RFL/RFB on here. My BF and I are staying at Bellagio in September, both using our own offers. He has a $300 food credit. In my offer, I was quoted RFB2, in the confirmation e-mail this was listed at $1,050 in food. Are these food offer's typically broken out by day. Our plan was to spend his $300 first before dipping into mine because my free play amount is higher and we want to keep our spent comps fairly even.

So what is the difference between RFL and RFB (just curious).

Are food credits broken out by day.

If so, which days. We check in on a Tuesday and check out on a Friday.

    Thanks.

RFL is room and food "limited" (to a certain $ amt daily and usually just the mid tier or casual dining restaurants).

RFB is room, food and booze if I'm not mistaken....we've never been RFB...Shifter could tell you.

The quirk at least for us when we were RFL at the Mirage was it doesn't cover booze so if you went to a bar and ordered a drink and charged it to your room, it wasn't covered. But, if you ordered a drink or bottle of wine with your dinner at a retaurant, it was.

Whenever I've been on RFB everything - restaurants, room service, mini bar, bar tabs charged back to the suite, etc. - any form of food or beverage I can think of - has always been covered 100%. Although from what I've read/heard even "full" RFB at MGM props is now has a ceiling and is no longer truly "unlimited" - although from my personal experience if it is, the ceiling must be pretty damn high because I had some very expensive meals last two trips and they were all covered - but I guess it all depends on your level of play.

The last time I had RFL was 2 years ago from Mandalay Bay. It was nice because they gave you the list of restaurants you could use but there wasn't a daily limit on it. More or less a "don't abuse it" type system.

I can't recall if this was prior to MLife or not.

You're more than likely not going to get comped by the host for anything outside of it. You'll have to use Express Comps which isn't a bad thing since you won't have to use them to pay for the meals that are covered under RFL.

A few years ago, RFL was still a great deal. You could get drinks anywhere. Meals at all but the high end restaurants. You could do room service. You could empty the mini bar. (we attacked it heavily)

The in the past year or so, things starting changing. Even if you got RFB, there was a dollar amount. If you were a higher end player, that dollar amount was way up there so some of those folks felt they were getting unlimited. And, if the play was high enough, it was the same as unlimited.

The last RFB I got at Bellagio had $250 per day. That still covers quite a bit. The next RFL I got was $200 per day.

It is very odd i got one host at the aria who would give me rfl and one who would give me comp +300$ freeplay. However calling to some other properties such as luxor and bellagio.Luxor would give me 2 night comps and it took effort to get that .Bellagio would give me a 15% discount... lol . So why does the aria like me so much? .

My guess, and only a guess....

Based on past experience, the offers from each of the MGM properties will move around based on some secret backroom formula. I think some hosts will push their limits more than others. At the same time, each Mgmt team will swing back and forth on their comp level. All tied to their latest internal numbers, like most any business.

these days any RFL and RFB are limited up front. that means they will offer you $X up front before you get there. if you don't play at all or low play them, that's all they'll give you. of course if you play enough, you can get anything comped. before you used to be able to get RFB, show up and play nothing and still get thousands in F&B comped. now that's not the case. $300-500 per day is about the limit that they will give you upfront. for those who play at a high level and are always going to play, it means nothing. they will always get whatever they want comped. but for those trying to abuse the system and low/no play them, they're the ones that will only get this fixed amount taken off.
