It's Pasta Pirate and the food is very good. I wouldn't make a special trip from the Strip, but if you're downtown, it's good and reasonably priced.

It's kind of fun to watch the chefs prepare the meals in the glass enclosed kitchen in the center of the restaurant.

Better choices are Second St Grill

If you decide to go to Pasta Pirate, there is a coupon in the FSE coupon book good or $10 off a $30 tab.

Ms Gecko and I have eaten at Pasta Pirate a couple times, and as recently as last month. (We were already downtown.) We'll be going back, which is a fairly decent recommendation for any restaurant. We've always gotten the steak and lobster tail special, have always been able to use a $10 off $30 coupon, and our meals and service have always been excellent. Oh, you can request regular butter instead of whatever that "stuff" is they bring out with the loaf of bread.

Joe is right, it is not a destination but it is well worth it if you plan to make a trip downtown. Especially if you want to combine it with a beer or two at 777 then walk over.

I've often wondered, is this the restaurant that Nic Cage and Elizabeth Shoe are eating at in Leaving Las Vegas?

    Here's a link: www.thecal.com/dine/pasta-pirate
You can take the tour, check hours, and view their menu. Although the steak and lobster is on the menu at $20, it seems to be perpetually listed at $18 on the chalkboard specials by the entrance.

BTW: I believe the special includes a strip steak, but you can upgrade to the fillet for an extra $2.
