I am trying to schedule another short trip and can use rooms comped for the Rio and the D. I intend to play mostly dollar VP and was wondering if I was better off at the Rio and other Caesars properties or Boyd properties downtown. Don't expect much at the D VP machines so thought we would mostly be playing at MSS or somewhere else if we go there.

    All suggestions welcomed?

I'm not a big VP guy, but I think I've heard that The Palms (across from your Rio) has excellent paytables for VP.

Here is what Main Street offers:
    JOB 45-30-20 99.54%
    Bonus 35-25-20 98.01%
    Double Bonus 45-35-25 97.74%
    DDB 45-25-20 97.87%
    Quarter, fifty cent & dollars.

Thanks to a board member's tip, I found out that the bars on the main floor at The Cal have 9-6 DDB at the dollar level. (98.98%) 9-5 for quarters. (97.87%) Cal goes up to $5 denomination on their bartops. Progressive jackpots on everything but JOB.

Good drink service both places. The only drawback to me is I like wine & The Cal serves all drinks in plastic:nono:

Also, if you play at MSS and get 4oak, tell the bartender, or turn on the service light at a floor machine. The attendant will bring you a scratch card. Don't play another hand until you get the card. You also must have a B Connected card and be playing 5 coins.

Joe certainly knows his VP & the MSS.

However, I think that he is focusing on the bartops at the Boar's Head Bar.

There are banks of 10/7 DB on the casino floor. Most are quarter, but some can be changed to dollar.

The Cal has a bank of 10/7 DB on the first floor. Some are 50 cents, and some are dollars.

For Queens has 10/7 at quarter & dollar level.

Palms had 10/7 DB at quarter & dollar level last time I was there. But that was a year ago.

Yes, my bad. I only play at the bartops and keep forgetting there are people who actually gamble where there is no bartender.

    Joe ....

MSS also has 8/5 Bonus Poker (40-25-20) @ 99.17% on the casino floor, in both single line and triple play.

    Question

Is the B Connected card for Fremont and MSS one in the same? Or does each property require their own card?

So if I wanted to use both buy 1/get 1 buffet coupons for Fremont and MSS, I would just need to acquire one card, correct?

You know I cannot remember if my J&B and Soda's came in plastic at the Cal.

By the time I switch from beer to Scotch I am usually not in the mood to really care? I even looked back at my VP pictures and the only glass in the picture was the tip-cup and it was plastic.

Another little hint about this bar. Bar tender leaves around midnight on week nights, but will they will make sure the cocktail waitress keeps you in the loop after they leave. I suppose the tipping like the drunken fool that I am at this time of night helps too.

I know that these all accept the B Connected card.
MSS, Fremont, Cal, Sam's & Suncoast all use same card.

Two years ago, Gold Coast still had its own. Maybe that's changed.

Not sure about the places in Henderson.

I can confirm that the Gold Coast card is the same BConnected card as the downtown Boyd properties (plus Sam's and Suncoast).

    It was in plastic.:drunk:
Forgot this one. We were at the Cal last Monday (I think:drunk:) and because a barback called in sick, they didn't replace him. So they shut down the Main St Bar, at the Cal, not to be confused with Main Street Station, for 2 hours between noon and 2 PM.
The bartender working at the Main St bar had to come relieve the bartender at San Fransisco bar for a hour, then that same bartender got her own 1 hr break. So the Main St bar was closed for two hours and all the cocktail waitress had to come over to the SF bar to get drinks, Quite a hike.

Thanks for the feed back. Guess I already knew the answer but needed a little reassurance. Just found out relatives are coming the same time and booked downtown. So the D it is with most of the VP at the Boars Head Bar.
