Going back to Flamingo in two weeks. Haven't read much about their pool this year. Last year there was a good bit of posts about the pool. Anyway, I'm just wanting to hear some stories about it this year before I get there...just to ease the anticipation of being back in Las Vegas. How wild has it been? Anybody been able to bring in a water/Gatorade bottle? Any changes at all from summers past?

That is the same time my buddys and I will be there. Last year was an amazing time. We spent all day each day at the pool but it rained and cut the last day short. We went at the sametime last year so I hope it doesnt rain this time. I cant wait to see some of the new stuff like the Margaritaville casino and the new liquor store in the Flamingo.

    See ya there.

    I gotta question...

If I am staying at Imperial Palace, can I still use the Flamingo pool?

I was there at the end of March. Pool was packed every day, to the point where people were just sitting on the concrete on their towels. You won't get anything past the guard checking the gate. They were diligent about checking bags, id and room keys.

They have DJs playing poolside every day. One day the guy was a total DB who played horrible music, next day the guy was great. Cocktail service was excellent; fast and very friendly. Large drinks in a souvenir plastic glass were $21, small drinks were $14.

    Hope that helps.

I also am going to jump in here and need to know if the pool will be a litle less crowded and not so partyish Sept. 3rd-6th. Hubby and I are staying at the Flamingo those dates and I am hoping for something a little less wild and crazy. Opinions will be welcomed.

    Thanks in advance.

I am going to go ahead and say it will still be a party atmosphere. I have seen videos on you tube from October and people were still getting down in the pool.

You can always go up to the all ages pool. It sounds like it is a little more laid back. I wouldnt know though never been up there except when it was the topless pool :)

My preference last July was the family pool as the kids are a lot better behaved than the adults at the adult pool. I had no problems with the family pool.

jgates8, is the water warmer in the family pool than in the adult pool, because it is smaller? I hope it is. I found the water temperature in the adult pool too chilly for me last June. I'll go there instead of the adult pool this July if it is. Thank you for your help.

The one thing I do remember about the flamingo pool is nobody gets out and the bathrooms are always empty..

Quick update on my upcoming trip. I called Flamingo GO pool and asked about renting a cabana. They quoted me for $600 with a bottle of Sky vodka for friday july 6 and saturday july 7. I brought it to my brothers that are going with me and they didnt like the price for 1 bottle. They want to do Rehab, Bare, or Encore beach. I rather do Flamingo since we are staying there.

600$ for a July 4th weekend day is not that bad . Cabanas are nice. I think if I remember the mixers came with the bottle.(red bull, OJ). We had a group of 8-10 and split it everyday. We usually drank miller light buckets too, I forgot the price but the beer in the buckets were 6 for 30????? If you gamble charge it to the room. It is a party pool , not a laid back pool. Beers, shots, splashing. Another reason cabana is good put your stuff in a book bag and put it on cabana and you can keep an eye on it from pool.

I was out there in 116 degree temps so the water felt good. So I'm not a good judge of whether it was too cold as the outside air was so extreme that it felt good. On a normal day it may have felt cold.

    Jgates8,

Again, thank you for the advice on the pool. Family pool it is, for my husband and I.

And yes, we may be the oldest couple at the pool, I am 55 and hubby is 67 but we would rather be amongst children, moms, and dad, than stupid acting adults who have had too much to drinkl.

    I appreciate the advice.
