    My Trip Report

Welcome dear readers to a long over-due LIVE trip report starring some old VMB board veterans of past Vegas wars.

The grand occasion for our trip, surprisingly not yet a national holiday despite the lobbying efforts of most major liquor manufacturers, is the upcoming Birthday of one Mr. Gaggles. Yes, it seems like his bday is every month. He certainly wears his birthday suit in public that often. But the end of May truly marks the actual occasion rather than the more common monthly celebration.

So this trip is set to be special indeed. I think all would agree this requires the presence of more friends and buddies along with a strong effort at LIVE trip reporting. Due to the widespread ADD diagnosis in our group, we have decided to collaborate on a live trip report.

We will start things off here in the Misc Vegas Chat section as we smack talk incessantly and build some background before embarking on the actual voyage at the end of the month.

I welcome one and all to join us on this journey. Throw in your two cents and whatever else you think these pervs might enjoy.

Welcome to The DRUNK-N-DEGENERATE B-DAY IN VEGAS TRIP REPORT!!!!

Somehow, god help us all, this is our first trip together of the 2012 campaign. Of course all credit can go to Gaggles for birthing himself lo those many eons ago to give rise to a reason REQUIRING celebration.

However I must take the blame for missing the numerous earlier trips of the 2012 campaign. My cohorts all have kept noses to the grindstone and been loyal Vegas visitors already this year.

In fact these cock-gobblers have texted me incessantly while I was stuck in work meetings or octa-mom socker vans, or various other of the 7 rings in Dante's workplace and suburban parenthood inferno.

Thankfully I have broken my shackles and gained "parole" for a quick trek out to The Mecca for a little R&R. That doesn't stand for Rest and Relaxation mind you. It stand for something far different, which I am assuming will become clear to me after 3-4 bottles of Grey Goose in the 115 degree mid-day sun.

Actually to give a little background, I believe I have been texted/facebooked by Macker, Gaggles, and Borat in the act of no less than 2 trips each already this year. Painful pictures of royals, quad aces, broken bra straps, and upside down liquor bottles.

It's been tough finding a good comp this time, as my play has dwindled, sort of like what happens right after you say "I do", I have gotten less offers. Diamonds have been crushed into Platinum, and I found myself scheduled for something called a Flamingo "Fab Deluxe". Sounded super Gay and basically a white spray paint on one of their shitty old rooms.

Luckily an offer from Wynn for 3 nights comped came in. Would be inconvenient but nice. Alas, the revenge of the pearl necklace cock-blocked that idea, as the Jewelry Convention is in town our dates.

Finally MGM came to the rescue with a kick-ass corporate offer at Bellagio for 3 nights comp, 2 tix to elvis, and $300 freeplay. Bing Bing Bing!!! we've got a winner! Called up and locked that bad boy down faster than Andre's mom picking up the cab fare off Macker's pillow.

Text Gaggles and he does the same. Invite Borat and now its a go. Macker gets the time off work. Big Sack seems to have Joined. and NOW WE HAVE AN F'ING CREW!!!! Will be a great way to celebrate Gaggles 38th 3rd Bday party. Sounds like a shitty US bank, but describes his maturity level perfectly, don't you think?

Anyway I used a bunch of flight credits to avoid BS $450 flight and ended up pretty good $178 all in. American via LA on the way out, but with first class upgrade to dull the pain. SWA on the way back, cause you know I might need to add a couple days to the trip when I start banging out royals like a doctor at the Lethbridge Planned Parenthood......

    more to come!!!

I will commit to getting my current TR from last week done before this one!

I think I'm actually doing pretty good. I've started the second night and I've only been home for 6 days.

Too bad on my trip report from a month ago, cause I don't think I am going to finish it :wink2: So unlike my slightly more degenerate friends I do not have Bellagio comped and am stuck in what BeeeJay calls a super gay FAB Luxury room comped at Flamingo. I originally was going from June 1-4, but think I will end up going May 31-June 4. The question is do I book the 31th at Flamingo or at Caesars (forum tower). The first night is always a drunken gong show and I know I am going to be hungover as hell and not want to move, so I'm thinking the Flamingo so I can lay in bed most of the day or just not have the hassel of moving, plus I think odds of a GO Room upgrade may be better on Thursday rather than Friday. I'm gonna work as much OT as possible for this one fellas as it is going to be a gong show!!!

When it becomes a TR, in the first post you should maintain a "The following thing(s) may or may not have happened on this trip" list to keep us guessing.

Now to move onto the gambling plan.

This is normally the time in the trip report where we begin to promise ourselves we will stick to quarter JOB at downtown full pay casinos only while mixing in some $2 BJ and $3 craps.

To get more realistic, I think we might try to NOT get drunk and blow our bankrolls on $5 DDB shooting for that $10K prem aces??? Sound like a good idea?

One interesting option I came across while reading Vegas Flusher excellent recent report is a little game call Bonus Poker Deluxe. This has a couple qualities I like.

The main difference from our current VP crack of choice--DDB is the payout on quads. The super-premium 800 and 2,000 payouts are gone, but are replaced by 400 for any quad. In effect any quad becomes a regular premium quad, with the price paid in foregoing the aces and kicker premiums.

One of the things that keeps me on $2 VP is the quad payout of $500, I love it. One of the things driving me away from $2 VP is W-2's. It is basically a 5% loss for me every time I get a W-2, due to state taxes.

So I am liking the idea of a $1 or $2 game with a nice quad payout ($400 or $800) where the only W-2 I'll ever see is a big one on a royal. I've had a bundle of those $1,600 crappers the past few years and want to avoid them.

Additionally, this lower variance should allow some more even play. The variance for Bonus Poker Deluxe is about halfway between JOB and DDB. Again, some excitement on quad aces is given up, but I think I can deal with that.

So my bread and butter game is going to be this Bonus Poker Deluxe. Even a $400 quad at $1 is still enough to get the juices flowing. If I get on a hot run I'll up it to $2 with no fear of W-2's. If I go to crap I can drop down to 50 cent and still get a $200 quad.

Will be out there June 1st - June 8th. Staying at IP 2 nights, PH 5 nights (we some how worked 7 comp nights by making a phone call) with 2 nights mixed in a smaller suite at MB. We tend to spend some time at least a few times drinking and eating nachos at Ballys at the Tequila Bar. I was planning on hitting up VP at Sully's this time. Hmm do I go or stay away...

I like that VP option willing to sell out a little for the 400 coin quads. Also living in Illinois you just never know what will happen. Come next year at tax time they could decide they will tax at 100% rate on all gambling wins.

The live trip reporting should be nicely facilitated for me by this new 4G LTE HTC Titan 2 with 16MP camera and unlimited data. Can post here quite easily although pics and bids will be on my beejay Facebook site, and numerous totally love updates. Ni e spell correct. Grrrrr.

Yeah I'd prob do ddb when dropping to 50 cent, for sure on quarters. The tax bite is my main issue at $1. Its easy to end up winning, then losing, then owing Illinois.

from what I hear that has been a regular layover on the Gaggles whistlestop tour of late. if you hear a loud, annoying BING BING BING in a Canadian accent, you will know who to say hi to!
