    My Trip Report

Well, well, well my friends, another 3 weeks had passed since my early October Vegas trip and being currently off-project (the self-employed term for unemployed) I decided I had a choice to make. Another week home taking orders from a lovely lady whose own parents referred to her as "General Rommel" or a week in Vegas. Hmmmmmm.

A quick call to Araceli at the Wynn and I was set up with RFB status with limo in a resort room. I decided to forego more stately accomodations for a couple reasons. First, this was going to be a 5-day/4-night trip and I wanted to conserve comps for food and beverage. Second, I wanted to try out the resort side and determine if I was really getting that much more bang for my buck on the Tower side.

A quick application of credits from my prior cancelled SW flights and I was en route to MDW via the bastion of all that defines the ghetto. Yeah I have mentioned this drive before, it's not really that excitiing but throw on a nice gold watch and a few grand in the pocket and it'll raise your heartbeat driving through the projects every time. I can't make this trek without recalling the famous Clark W. Griswold in the original National Lampoons Vacations----"this is a part of America the kids never get to see...noticing all this plight kids.....ROLL 'EM UP!" Well I rolled em up, locked em up, took off my watch and set the phazers on stun. 60 short minutes later I was at the good ole MDW.

Hopped out and got to the elevator where I was just beaten by a couple foreign looking dudes racing as if they were late, they pressed 1, i pressed 4. They got off at 4, thanked me for the correction and ran off.

Having rarely pre-printed my boarding pass, I went to the short line and checked my luggage---necessary due to the collection of flame-throwing butane Calibri lighters I bring on every Vegas excursion.

Grabbed the last ailse seat, started office space on my HTC Tytn and fell asleep. Woke up in loooovveeeely LAS VEGAS!

After the standard trek through the stench of slots and rip off airport garb I slid down the escalator to see a buff bald dude with a Wynn sign that said "Kroger"----ahhh name misspelled for the 5th out of 6 limo pickups at LAS this year. Whatever. This fine gentlemen would be leading me to one Rolls Royce Phantom so he could spell my name whatever way he wished.

Once loaded in the king of all cabs, I felt oddly like I was inside one of my wife's fancy purses due to the soft supple leather and the aroma wafting from it. The standard convo insued on the ride and I got the big dog to punch it hard once....which was the closest thing I'll ever feel to an anti-gravity environment. That $350,000 vehicle has got one smoooooth ride!

As we arrived at Wynn I told him I was staying on the resort side but he insisted on a south gate dropoff. I sheepishly approached the tower desk and mentioned I was resort but they said as I was an invited guest I could use either set of elevators. She immediately upgraded me to 60th floor, a room close to the tower side for easy tower pool access and mentioned the special invited guest VIP lounge. eh, blah, maybe later. there's GAMBLIN to be done my lady!

So she gives me the cards with the special ed teacher gold stars which is the Wynn's new VIP line pass. Ok first night I had decided to check-in and head right off to begin my tour de all casino las vegas. So I unpacked and rolled out to the cab line. Took a cab straight to the Mandalay Bay. Plan: Buy in at each place for $300 in $25 chips on BJ, play conservatively and get a free drink and get a $5 chip to save for my collection. Things start slowly at MB. I buy in and lose my $300 and forget to save a chip. Damn it!!! Ok so I head over to roulette, buy in $500 nickels, put one in the pocket and lose the rest in 4 spins. I'm off to a very inauspicious start---$800 down and one drink and 1 $5 chip. At this rate it'll cost me millions to get the job done!

Ok so next stop Luxor via the good ole tunnel. Better luck here---big hits on roulette and back to down $200. Monorail over to the Excalibur where I ran into a crazy drunk dude at roulette. Somehow ended up playing quarters and lost about $1,500 in short order. Damn. Did get 3-4 drinks and my $5 chip. Off to walk over to NYNY. Hit the high-limit room there. Huge run on blackjack playing $100 to $200 hands. got some $5's for tips and kept a couple for souvenier. Won $1,000 here while tipping the dealer $185 in one 6-deck shoe. Hit the 10-play super times pay for another $600 profit on full house dealt and some other 4OAK. cashed out nearly back to even, probably $100 down at this point. Now my next stop SHOULD HAVE BEEN Monte Carlo obviously but I was getting well lubed and forgot about it and cabbed over to Bellagio. Lost a quick $500 here but got my $5 chip and 3 drinks and actually pretty good amount of $100/hand play while staying between $100-$200 until a final highway robbery double down draw out by the dealer. BASTARDS! Anyway I hoofed it over to Caesars and it took all of about 10 minutes to again, as usual blow through $1,000 there. Next stop home and food.

Cabbed back to the Wynn and ordered shrimp cocktail, pork potstickers, general cho chicken, no drink. poured the mini bar cashews on top and enjoyed with a minibar heineken keg can---love those. hit the hay and called it a night.

Tuesday morning woke up pretty early due to having gone to sleep around 1am the night before. I must have gambled some at Wynn and was down a few thousand already. Budget for trip was $1,000 cash, $2,000 trav checks leftover from prior trip, and one check which i could use to pay marker, planning to use $4,000. today the plan included a meet with OV Rhonda, Jason & wife Cheri (board name jvcnh), and Rick (ricktfrombc).

I started off the day at the Wynn pool where I had a waitress named Tanya. I was on the tower side where you can get some half-ass decent service but the people are old, rich, and fat----so I fit right in. Even though I'm 39, semi-poor, and borderline obese based on my Wii Fit BMI but I am calling myself just mildly to severly overweight cause some of it is muscle (6 foot, 220lbs, love mcdonalds, but i do workout a little). Anyway I read "whale hunt in the desert" while catching some rays and a few bombay tonics from the hottie, who I insisted refer to me as "Jackass" rather than "Sir" so I would feel more at home. She obliged. ;)

I grabbed lunch at the pool, best chicken fingers and fries i have ever had and played out the pool scene for about 2 hours. Changed and headed out to hit some downtown casinos before the meet. Things went extremely well downtown. i did the old hit and run starting at MSS, then Plaza where I hit for $1,000 on roulette in 2 spins and cashed out much to the chagrain of some old lady pit boss. Also did 4 queens, golden nugget again (real quick since I'm on their backroom list for my report to the gaming commission), along with golden gate and a few other places. Signed up for cards, got c$5 souvenier chips and whatever at each. Took a cab back to the Wynn and played some VP while waiting for the meet time.

Now here is where things get really interesting. I had been down a few K, but had won most of that back downtown. Still hadn't really been UP per se for the trip. Sat down at the machines by Blush at about 2:30 with my meet set for the Flamingo garden bar at 3. promptly got a 4OAK which put me up $500 for the trip. I mentioned to the couple a few machines over that I hoped it was contagious as I went to cash out and head to the meet. Problem was I ran into the 100 play machine and being up decided to give it a shot. Can you say TOTAL MELTDOWN? I can. Anyway I proceeded to drop $5K into that machine in about 20 minutes.

A little shocked at my loss of all my earlier hard work I cabbed over to the Flamingo. I asked directions to the bar from a couple semi-retarded (not really so not being non-PC) employees who had no clue. Finally found it and there was Rhonda! It was great to meet her and she is super fun as everyone says. Well Rick rolled in and guess what!?! In come Jason and Cheri who just happen to be the couple I was sitting by at VP at the Wynn earlier! What are the odds? probably lower than my melting down and blowing $5K in 15 min....haha. Hey at least I can laugh about it.

Anyway Rhonda and Rick had some great stories and I really enjoyed the conversation with Jason and Cheri. Rick excused himself to get back to his poker play and Rhonda had to head off to wherever the rich, beautiful, and famous spend there time. Jason and I decided to go play a little blackjack at the front, near the flamingo strip entrance. There were two people playing already, a guy at third base and a girl one seat from first. I took first base and Jason sat between them. The table was hot and this chick was just as hot---blonde with brown eyes and lots of fun. Too bad she had the huge rock and the 3rd base dude was her husaband....oh well we are all married anyway LOL. Even though this was a 6/5 table it paid well, except on the one BJ I got (not from the hot blonde) and I had to get outta there. Jason and I exchanged numbers and planned to meet up later.

My plan had been to head back for some food and rest but I remembered I had missed Monte Carlo on my casino trek so I stopped in there and got my chip, then hit the Mirage where I had two straight very good spinning roulette dudes both from Brooklyn. This doctor from Seattle (Seattle Grace perhaps) was being a total ass. He was drunk and telling everyone he was a doctor. who cares you quack, you should be using this money for your malpractice insurance. Anyway I did well there then hit TI. While at TI Jason called and we agreed to meet at Wynn for dinner. I was RFB at Wynn so I really appreciated Jason and Cheri coming over so I wouldn't be relegated to room service again.

We met by the VP machines, I dumped $500 quick into those and then went up to change as they were dressed well enough for something beyond the buffet and I did have a pair of pants upstairs. I really only like to wear pants when I have to for work and I only want to wear a suit to my funeral. In short I am a slob. If you remember the movie "Easy Money" with Rodney Dangerfield when he introduces the "regular guy" look of expandable slacks and such----that is me. 95% of my wardrobe includes spandex although I must say I am "slob chic" as it is all Tiger Woods dri-fit spandex. Anyway I had really wanted to try the country club so we decided to do that. WOW.....they took us out on the balconey and we had almost the exact same view of the waterfall and 18th green as from my august stay in the fairway villas. Jason and I had various steaks, Cheri had chicken and we had some apps and sides. All was incredible and the company was great as we had a blast talking and joking about kids, work, the differences between Canada and the U.S. It was extrememly interesting for me. Also a big shout out to Jason for leaving the fat tip so I could truly dine for free---very classy move and greatly appreciated!

After dinner we decided to do a tourof the VIP section of the Wynn Tower entrances. We headed over and checked out the fancy invited guest check-in area and I ate a very tasty brownie. They we checked out the washrooms, TV in front of each urinal! WOW. Cheri didn't believe us so since no one was around Jason snuck her in there and took a pic of her by the unrinal TV---TOOO FUNNY!

After that we decided to do some gambling, but Cheri was ready to hit the hay for the night so Jason put her in one cab and we took another to the Las Vegas Hilton. I really like the atmosphere and cleanliness of this place. it's a bit outta the way but nice. Of course Steve Cyr having working here years ago gives it a little extra cashe in my book. So we sit down and are playing some BJ at a decent $15 table. up and down up and down. I decide to bet $75 one hand---had been playing $25 or $50. I get dealt two 7's. Dealer shows a 7. I like at my little cheat card. SPLIT. hmmmm. it's right on the edge. ok i'm drunk what the hell. I split. First hand 3, second hand yep another 7. double the 3, split the 7 again. double on the 3 was like an 8 so ok, split on the 7 was YET ANOTHER F"ING 7!!!! split again. get a 4 and a5 double the 4 get a 10. ok so now I have 6 $75 bets out there with totals ranging from 12 to 21 but most under 17. Dealer has a 7 showing, I am hoping to break even. Dealer flips a---YOU GUESSED IT---another 7!!!!! luckily he can't split and he hits it hard with a face card. BOOM BABY!!!! $450 payout---man that was a huge hand.

There is a little sign that says if you get a 21 with 7-7-7 you get a free fleece. Well Jason lobbies the Pit Boss on my behalf and what do you know, since I got 4 7's on that hand he awards me the free fleece which I have been wearing playing catch in Chicago fall weather with my son. It is super warm and brown with Las Vegas Hilton and a royal flush of hearts on the front. Thanks again Jason---NICE WORK BUDDY!!!!

Now most of this time we are gambling Jason is playing at what i would call a "smart" level and not going up or down to much. I am gettting the occasional big win but trending down for sure. This really continued as we head over to slots-a-fun to find a good low limit game. The pit boss directs us to a reallly good $10 table at Circus Circus. 3/2, double after split, dealer stays on 17, great rules. Of course I somehow lost $600 in about 15 minutes on bad beats. Everyone else was playing $10. Playing $75 hands at Circus Circus is like playing $10,000 hands at Bellagio. this guy beside me looked at me like I was spending a fortune. he asked me what kind of work I did. haha.

Anyway after that beating I decided to call it a night and headed back to the wynn. Jason and I made tentative plans to meet up the next day and hit the 7pm Margaritaville Trip Advisor meet with SunnyGale, Tony Boombatz, and ColdinMichigan. I was really looking forward to that!

wednesday woke up very tired....decided to skip the pool and hit some more of the off strip (non-downtown) casinos on my list. I went to Orleans (really liked it) and then did Hard Rock where I was overpaid on roulette but couldn't say anything cause someone else was on the same bet. I actually saw 4 overpays on roulette this trip. 1 was me getting paid $550 on a $10 straight up bet, I gave back $200. The other 3 were dealers paying straight up payouts on people who had split bets on 0-00....really weird had never seen that. Couldn't say anything again as others were on those numbers with me.

After Orleans I did a triangle stop at Palms, Gold Coast, and the Rio. Had lunch somewhere in there at a bowling alley.....chicken fingers (may have been gold coast?) anyway they were not QUITE as good as Wynn. LOL.

Headed back to Wynn and had some good hits on roulette before changing for the TA meet. I texted with Jason and we decided to meet up at Flamingo and play some BJ and prime a little before. Well we played about an hour while Cheri did some slots and we got a few drinks in us. By this time I had gotten some calls from Sunny and Michigan so we headed over to Margaritaville. Damn if we could NOT find them anywhere. They were apparantly right by the main bar and we hung out a while by the big greeen mixer and looked around but we never could find them. I tried calling both back a few times but apparantly they were in the tank somewhere by that time and Tony Boombatz was looking for a flyswatter to fight off all the hot blondes on his jock from what I hear. Anyway I was super bummed not to find them but next time we'll make damn sure to meet up, THEN drink! haha.

So Cheri was getting hungry and so was I, Jason was ready to eat. I thought, hey why don't we head over to Bellagio and hit the buffet. That is always quick and good. We cabbed over from Flamingo and while the happy Canadian couple checked some stuff at the players card desk I stopped into the host office and got us set up with 3 buffet comps, 2 free cocktails each, and a line pass. We headed over to the buffet and happily passed all the people waiting in line. Of course at Bellagio there is the "second" line after you pay where you wait to get a table but that went pretty quick. We had a great waiter who suggested and brought good cocktails and we enjoyed the food and conversation again. I insisted on leaving at least this tip as I didn't want to take advantage of my new buddies who had left the big tip the night before. It seems like sometimes Vegas is so overpriced the tip for a free meal is often the same price as that meal would actually be back home. Although, the quality at Wynn and Bellagio is excellent.

So we left Bellagio and headed over to the Palazzo to play some blackjack. The club had just let out and we had one particularly entertaining 1st base dude who was dancing and singing and bringing us all good luck---well for a while. Finally the dealers switched and I got beat like a red-headed stepchild and decided to call it a night. With Jason and Cheri headed back to cold, snowy Canada the next day we said our goodbyes and I was bummed they werent there one more day to party with as they were an absolute blast! I need to give my wife a shot of Cheri's attitude so she can enjoy a break in Vegas with me sometime (trying to talk here into Dec 9-11 right now actually).

Back to wynn and sleep, wallet dry, atm card used, travelers checks gone, markers taken out----U-G-L-Y financial results on this trip, but I consider gambling an entertainment expense. Still I had gotten used to winning lately so I was a little down about it.

Thursday morning slept extremely late, did the old pool and chicken finger lunch again. By 2pm I decided to finish up my casino rounds. I needed to start at Hooters and work my way almost the whole way back to Wynn skipping only a few places I had already hit.

I got to Hooters by 3pm and promptly dropped $700. Ouch. Over to Trop where I won $500 on roulette, to MGM, Paris, Planet Hollywood, Bills, and basically all points in between. I had really big wins playing quarters on roulette at Paris that financed a whole bunch of crap highway robbery draw outs on blackjack. There are three truths in life, death, taxes, and the dealer pulling a 5 if they have 16 vs my double down on this trip.

Anyway it took me until almost 11pm to make it back to the Wynn! It never seemed like I stayed anywhere long and I was by myself but man I had a blast meeting new people, doing the old high 5's when 17 hit on roulette with $50 bet on it and playing some occasional terrible odds VP at harrrah's properties. There was one SUPER drunk dude at the actual Harrah's roulette table who thought he was in LA. He was hittting on this oriental chick and it was just brutal. He would bet improperly and the russian dealer could not get hime to play $10. It was just so funny. I also saw an over served guy at Hard Rock in the middle of the day who security had to take back to his room. They were just gonna throw him in a cab but they ended up deciding to take him back to his hotel themselves.

So back at the Wynn Thurs night at midnight or so I decided to again go for the chinese meal, ordered the same thing. oh i forgot somwhere in here i ordered a bbq chicken pizza in the middle of the night and a breakfast bagel----alll excellent. downed the chinese and hit the hay for my final night.

I awoke friday, went and won a quick $900 on roulette and stopped to say hi to Aracelli. She gave the hug and cheek kiss and her hair was now dark again for the fall which I much prefer to her summer blonde (think Vanessa Marcil from Las Vegas on NBC). She informed me that all charges were taken care of and let her know when I would like to come back. I arranged two connecting rooms at Encore in May for a trip with friends and she sent me off to catch the old Rolls Royce Phantom back to the airport.

As always I hit the BK at the airport like it was my last meal on Earth (since all the BK's in my hood in Chitown are now Popeye's). I did a little math and that BK wanted to come back up as I realized I had record a nice 5-figure loss. Oh well it was one HELL of a time and I had made new friends, thoroughly enjoyed myself, and as always YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE!

ps....i did forget the one hooker story....sitting at the infamous VP machines by Blush, home girl asks for a light. She acts like shes waiting for friends. She starts talking.....one thing leads to another and she asks if I want any company.....haha. No thanks. Very cute but a little too much boootay for me. She was cheap too, like $300 full package she said although I don't believe that. But it was late so she could have been desperate.

pss.....also upon my return found out I just missed Jaco and Whale Jo! I was probably in high limit taking out my cash marker while they were cooking their chocolate chips ($25,000 chips)! Man I wish I had known they were there---and gotten in on that crazy winning session with them! again oh well---next time.

Also another commentary-----MGM-Mirage offers are still good but room type way down due to hit and run tactics and terrible misrating on last trip to NYNY. If you play at NYNY you MUST ask for a rating slip every time you play. My host says they will give you a copy showing your time played and average bet. they rated me under an hour a day while I was staying there in early october! Un-freaking-believable!

Wynn although they did screw me out of $750 in comps before is holding to their word at that time and making me RFB now so I have no complaints, also their hosts are being super nice to me while the Bellagio hosts are treating me like a leper. Funny thing is my Wynn average is steady at $277 while my Bellagio avegae had dropped to mid $300's. Wynn is a more expensive hotel yet they treat me better for less---interesting. also Wynn view from resort rooms is better angle than from tower suites. top floor view of strip and mountains was incredible!

Also curious to see what other offers come in from my play all over town. So far a free sandwich from deli at Las Vegas Hilton (gay), and $100 free play at Stratosphere with no stay required (very cool) and 2 free nights at strat. Harrah's total rewards seems to be offering free basic rooms everywhere except Caesars most dates.

Next trip I am doing a 2-dayer (down from 9 days) 1 day Bellagio and 1 day Mirage, both are $1,500 promo chips the kind where you don't lose the chip when you win--unlike NYNY. Mirage is RFG. Bellagio is R. Both with Limos. Decided to skip NYNY promos like $1,500 Macy's gift card because it is based on play rating during trip and they grossly misrated me in the past.

Here is the pic of the collage I made....I may post 2 W-2 causing jackpot pics and meal pics if I get my phone email working.

    http://www.openvegas.com/vegas/user/...e_vegas-chips/

Geez I almost forgot the best part-----since I was RFB I took all the mini-bar cookies and candies in my backpack. there was a really hot and according to the other flight attendent "extrememly available" flight attendant on my flight. I scribbled a note about my single rich and cool "twin" brother on some Wynn candies and sent them back to her sight unseen. Well she comes forward and it is a girl who I have seen on other flights and she is F I N E. And this part I shiite you not, I am on the inside of row 1 and this older dude who has seen and egged on the whole thing is sitting with his wife beside me. This girl comes up from the back and starts talking to the front of the plane girls and bends over with her excellent booty basically in our faces for way tooo long.....then she sits on her friends lap and winks. The dude gives me a high five.

Before we get off the flight she announces the whole thing on the intercom thouroughly embarassing me.

After the flight she headed to get potbellies for the crew and I walked off being in the front row. She asked if I really had said twin brother and I aplogized said no and showed her the wedding ring. Man where were these chicks when I was single!!!! Hope she enjoyed the Wynn candies.

Thanks for reading and hope the LOSER report wasn't toooooo boring! ;)

Good luck to all in VEGAS!

    Excellent as usual.

Sorry to hear about the loss.

Yeah cleaning out the mini bar was shear genius considering you were on full RFB.

But it sounds like you had a great time. Can't wait to read your next TR.

Loved the report. Dropping 5K in a few minutes my wife would have a heart attack if I dropped that type of money is such a short period of time.
