Mask wearing during Mike Hammer at 4Q and at Brad Garrett’s at MGM was pretty lax, most people had a drink in their hand and I’d say 50/50 was generous.

My guess is that about 50% of the sanitizer stations do not work. Kinda like the soap dispensers and basin faucets in the LGR.

Got here yesterday. Mask enforcement is non-existent as far as I can tell. Most people wearing them but not all. Sitting at the race book I had mine down for most of the time. Forgot to put it back several times when I got up to bet. Race writers were cool. Plexiglass is down but the ones I talked about it with said they had been vaxxed and were not worried. At the Wynn there are no security people at the doors like there were in Nov. and March. Allegro was packed when I got back tonight and nary a mask was seen on any diner.

I've been told multiple times to put the mask completely on when doing the one ear thing while drinking and forgetting.

Not that I would know personally, but there was some speculation last night that they were not enforcing it for at least some known very high rollers.

I apologize in advance if this was already discussed, but does anyone know what transmission data they are looking at to rollback the mandate? It looks like according to the CDC website over the past 7 days Clark County has seen a decrease in cases by 9.53% and the positivity rate ticked down .43%. So I am just wondering what numbers they are looking at to rollback the mandate?

This question is not appropriate for this thread (please review Sonya's first post). I'm going to leave this one here (but please no more), because people want to know the answer and the best place to check is the other virus thread Sonya has in the covid section: https://www.vegasmessageboard.com/forums/index.php?threads/gov-sisolak-signs-new-mask-mandate-effective-12-01am-friday-july-30.186276/ Start at the seventh post in that thread and you should find the answers to your questions. Thanks

I am severely behind on trip reports. My trip is in like... 22, 23 days?

For those who are out and about in Vegas, I am happy to hear that masks are mostly being followed. However, I heard from my mother's friend that *every* restaurant is requiring reservations again. Can anyone confirm?

Capacity hasn't been reduced, I think it's just so busy that you really need reservations to eat where and when you want.

Wynn was pretty strick regarding enforcement last week. Kicked a group out who would not comply. I was told that there were a bunch of cancellations based on the new mandate but the resorts were as busy as ever.

I haven't seen anything saying that, and capacity/distancing hasn't been implemented so everything should be running at capacity, or at least what they can handle. I was downtown in June and many restaurants were running on skeleton crews, which caused a lot of waiting and need for reservations. It was normal to see lines through the casinos for coffee shops and pub type food.

I'm not there anymore actually, but NO, HELL NO, {f-bomb} NO, total bovine doodoo!

I just walked in to every place I ate last week, some solo at the bar, other times a table for how many.

Well, as they say, your mileage may vary.

I was at Wynn on July 30. Neither I, nor my host, nor the concierge could get me a reservation for two at Sinatra for July 31. I went to the restaurant on the 30th and put my name on a waiting list for the 31st and, luckily, there was a cancellation.

I was at Aria on Aug 1 and the concierge could not get me a reservation for two at Catch and Carbone for Aug 2 and 3. So I went to each restaurant when they opened on Aug 1 and was able to get reservations for Aug 2 and 3. On both days I saw people turned away who arrived without reservations.

A couple of notes and comments ...

I did not do any of the higher-end places at all on this last trip. Just the casino coffee shop type places, one casino buffet, a few casual type places, one local bar with food, one food court one newer local BBQ place. None of the places even asked if I/we had a reservation.

Lines could be insanely nasty! More so at the popular lunch/dinner times and right after a larger session just let out. With few buffets, the other places have to absorb the load.

I saw no enforcement of distancing on the lines. Mask compliance on the lines was close to 100%.

Word of mouth helped beat the lines. For example, the burger place in the passage between Bally's and Paris served breakfast. It was not on their outside menu screen but you could ask at the bar for a breakfast menu. Another non-obvious under the radar place was the Giordano's up the escalator. It looked like PF Chang had immediate seating quite a bit of the time.

For places like Cafe Americano and Cafe Hollywood, you could get in with no wait if you went between the popular meal times.

Now the unwritten mask rule appeared to be that as soon as you were seated at a table or bar, you could drop/remove the mask and nobody would hassle you.

When I first started considering my upcoming trip about a month and change back, people on another site were warning me to get reservations for food. Especially at that time, I think it was due to long waits and lack of staffing, not explicitly covid-related. I've booked some reservations as a result, and there have definitely been some situations where no reservations were available, although I think it may be because the operating hours of certain restaurants are also ... fluid ... right now. Which again, I assume, is due to lack of staffing.

Does anybody have information about nightclubs? Are they still open? Do you have to wear masks inside?

Most are open. Masks are mandated indoors, but I saw an article over the weekend that enforcement varies widely in the nightclubs.

Heading to Fremont Street in Sep for a few nights. Are face coverings mandatory in casinos? What about outside under the cover on Fremont? Thx.

I would think gaming licensees would have the strictest enforcement since they are so highly regulated, followed a distant second by those with a liquor license.

Anywhere indoors, yes. Outdoors is not part of the mandate for NV, but best to check with the individual property you may be staying at to verify that it's not their policy.

The mandate for masks is for indoor spaces. That would mean inside downtown casinos, but not under the canopy on Fremont Street. It also means inside the casinos, but not at the pool areas or on Las Vegas Blvd.

However, there have been reports of some locations requiring masks while walking to and from the pool areas, bathrooms, etc. But not at your chair or while swimming.

I would check with whatever pool you're considering to be sure of their particular policy at the time.
