    My Trip Report

**Note... due to the amount of alcohol consumed and the way time flies and sometimes becomes a blur, I'm sure some details and time lines are not accurate. Also several details have been changed or omitted to protect the not so innocent** :ssst:

Also, please excuse the poor grammar, change of tense, etc. I'm not an English major...*LOL*

I was awakened early Tuesday morning by a friend who would be in town later in the day. We decided to meet up, as long as coffee was brought in exchange for waking us up so early. Luckily I was able to drift back to sleep for a few hours.

I finally woke up & jumped in the shower and barely had time to get dressed & ready before my friend arrived. We had quite a bit of Sheridan's with the coffee (so yummy!) & talked for an hour or so, then Patti decided she wanted to get something to eat and joined MGinCo at the Paris buffet.

We hung out a while & got caught up before strolling over to Caesars to get my friend checked in. We hung out in the room for a while before freshening up and heading downtown for the poker meet at Binions. We were in the cab line near the front when we received a phone call from Patti & MGinCo offering us a ride downtown. We decided to meet them at the back Flamingo valet near the pool. We waited and waited and still didn't see them. A few phone calls and what seemed like an eternity, we found out the Paris valet lost her car for about 20 minutes. Finally they showed up and were were off to downtown.

We arrived about an hour late and poker was already underway. Everyone seemed so serious; it didn't look like anyone was having much fun and I felt out of place. I suggested we go get something to eat from Binion's snack bar. We all had a burger & Patti had the Manhattan style clam chowder. Everything was really delicious. Not sure if it was because it was the first meal I'd had all day or if it was really that good.

After eating we headed back to the poker room and things seemed a little bit more alive. Got to get caught up with some old friends and meet new ones. The gentleman that offered to buy Patti the shoes if he won made it to the final table, but three of them decided to split the pot, so no new shoes for Patti.

We wanted to play cards so we headed in search of a good BJ game. Found one at the Plaza and played for a couple hours. I started drinking my obligatory AMF's (Adios Mother Fu#@er) out of my glow in the dark penis straw. After a couple of them, I started slowing down a little so the blue of the drink starting settling in the balls area of the straw. Guess you had to be there but it was pretty funny to me at the time. Someone kept calling me blue balls.

We played a bit longer and had some good laughs before heading outside to wander around a bit downtown before heading back to the strip. I had so much fun and laughs my sides were hurting, and also made some great memories that night.

Woke up early on Wednesday morning and realized my cell phone hasn't been charging for the last three days, so is nearly dead. Wished my friend good luck and farewell before heading off to search for a new charger or at least to see if the problem is with the phone or charger. Stopped at the ABC store in the Planet Hollywood mall & they were unable to find a charger for my phone. I decided to go back up to the room to find the nearest Cingular location.

Before heading out I got a large mug of ice water. Seems I was really dehydrated and all the drinking and carousing the night before didn't help matters. I grabbed a cab and headed towards the Cingular store nearest Planet Hollywood. They looked at my phone and charger & boy did I feel stupid. It turns out the end that plugs into the phone had somehow got switched with the end that plugs into the part that plugs into the wall. Geez....you think I would have thought of that before taking a cab all the way over there. Oh well, I was thankful at least it was an easy fix and I didn't have to buy a new phone.

Called the cabbie that dropped me off and was headed back to PH in no time. Went back up to the room and made a few phone calls and made plans to meet a friend for lunch. Headed down to the mall and got some things for my mom at The Body Shop, she adores that place. Did a little more window shopping before meeting up with my friend at the Oasis for some lunch. I wasn't all that impressed with my cheeseburger, but everyone else seemed to be enjoying them. Maybe it's because I left off the Thousand Island Dressing?

We wandered around the mall a little and had a couple drinks from Fat Tuesdays before saying our goodbyes. I headed back up to the room for more drinks & to wait for Patti to finish getting dressed. We caught a cab to the Palms for the Margarita meet at the Blue Agave Bar.

Wow! What a great turn out. Met some really nice people from other message boards that I'd been wanting to meet for a while. Had a great time visiting and playing VP while drinking some pretty good Patron margaritas. We also had fun flirting with the cute bartenders and I told one of them to watch what happened when I called Patti's cell phone..hehehe. She always jumps & gets somewhat of a thrill. Kikky showed up after work and joined in the fun.

We were hungry and decided to go to the Cortez Room at the Gold Coast since we were right across the street. We enjoyed an excellent meal and drinks for a very reasonable price. The service was pretty good also. This place is truly a hidden gem!

After the meal I threw a twenty into some penny slot machine and wasn't playing max credits at first and Patti yelled at me & told me to play full coin. So of course I did and wouldn't you know it, I hit a bonus round and cashed out for $136! Yippee! My ONLY gambling win of the trip! Thanks Patti!

Both Patti & Kikky tried their luck too but no real wins. We were dropped off at Planet Hollywood to freshen up our make up for the night. Caught a cab downtown. We played some VP at Binion's before heading to the Plaza to play some BJ. Played there for a few hours and used Patti's $10 comp from the night before at the snack bar because the Upper Deck was closed due to it moving downstairs. Caught a cab back to PH and called it a night.

Here's a pic of Patti, me & Paula.

Can they still call it the Upper Deck if it's on the ground floor now, and won't poor Johnny get lost on his way to work now? :confused2:

Sounds like a fun trip so far!

*LOL* That's what we were wondering.

Thanks, yes it was a great trip. The gambling gods were not kind though. I should have known better after the decent luck I had in February & March.

Yes I know....been working all week trying to get caught up, plus I've been sick.

Had a great time! I'm trying to piece together certain events from the last night. I know I pissed off a pit critter or two in addition to harassing a dealer....but it was fun. :evillaugh

Glad u ended up playing the max for that win
I'm also glad u enjoyed the Cortez Room. It is a hidden gem.
Enjoyed my time with u and look forward to seeing u again.

The Upper Deck is now called the Great Moments Cafe. It has a new menu and the employee's have to wear black dress pants and white shirts. They told me that the gourmet restaraunt is now the Centre Stage at the Plaza and alot of the Great Moments staff r over there now. No one was sure what they are going to do on the upper floor. They didn't know if it was top secret or if the new owners just haven't decided yet.
The new owners r changing the look of the casino to a Carribean style. Some of the changes have already been made. The bar up front was being renovated when I left. I was told the sports theme has to be re-licenced before they can use it and it will take a year hense why the new theme but an application was put in to have the sports stuff as well.

Me too! It was a pleasure as always Patti! Too bad we didn't do our "usual" cab ride with the windows down. Maybe next time...lol

Thanks for the updates on the changes at VC. It's a shame I never got around to eating at the Great Moments Room. I hope they don't mess with the food too much, especially the soups.
