    My Trip Report

    Hello everyone!

Good morning, I hope everyone at home is having a much-less-painful Saturday morning than your fellow travelers out here in Vegas. I think I am the only one here who is *not* nursing a hangover at 7:30 am local time.

Why am I so lucky? Well, it might've had something to do with the marathon 48 hour session I put in on Wed/Thurs, and after several Spicy Beavers, shots of Patron, Jack Daniels, and a glass or two of "Sticky Juice" (Mandarin Vodka, Sprite, a splash of cranberry... oh hell yeah...) I opted for passing out in Angy's palatial suite around 1:00 am this morning after the party had started to wind down and I actually got several hours of sleep while the rest of the buffoons spent the balance of the darkness hours trying to drink their way out of the Imperial Palace.

But now I'm back in my own room, and after changing my shirt (someone who shall remain temporarily nameless came back to Buffoonery Central and decided to not-quite make it to the bathroom before giving back some of the previous nights' cocktails, and I just happened to be in the way....) I am sitting here at the desk taking advantage of the in-room internet access and providing an update.

Let's see... where did I leave off....

Oh yeah, after the Thursday night poker game and late-night/early-morning silliness at Angy's suite, I got back to my room, made the update, set my alarm for an hour later, and as soon as I laid down I realized that if I were to go to sleep I would probably not wake up until just before today's poker tourney and miss all of the action, so I hopped back up again, showered, shaved, got dressed, and got back on the road.

I stopped back at the house to get the cooler, then hit the grocery store for some Coke, 30 lbs of ice, chips and dip, and a big shrimp cocktail ring. I then spent 45 minutes driving the six miles between my house and the valet at the Imperial Palace. Yep, it was typical Friday-afternoon Vegas gridlock, with the every-three-minutes ambulance pass that bottled up traffic even more.

But I got the stuff to Angy's room, and spent a few minutes putting all the beer on ice and helping Angy with last-minute preparations. Everyone else was either still in bed or having an early dinner over at Maggiano's.

Once we got everything ready, we ordered a room-service pizza from Uno's there at the IP. It filled the hole, since I'd had nothing to eat in over 12 hours previous to that, but I certainly wouldn't make a point of going there.

The party had an announced starting time of 6:00 pm, but nobody really started showing up in earnest until almost 7:00. There were a few of us, but the bulk of the buffoons straggled in later.

But we put the music on, opened up all of the sliding doors to the balcony, enjoyed the view of the Mirage, Harrahs, and the Venetian, and I got behind the bar and got busy pouring my now-famous Spicy Beavers for anyone who said they needed a drink but had the bad sense to not be specific... heh...

By 7:30 or so we were at max capacity and in danger of having the fire marshall shut us down, but it was a hell of a good time. Eventually "Dead Money" and his buddy "Live Straddle" showed up (Doc Al and LV Terry) with custom made T2V MMIV shot glasses, and soon thereafter they were magically filled with Patron and a group toast was made.

The party was cranked up to a nice respectable level, and some great photos were taken, along with lots of YouTube material that's worth a laugh--especially the one with SanOnofreSurfer and 3Cats doing something that was oddly reminiscent of a scene from Forrest Gump, although only if you were listening and not watching..

Think Boy, your mama sure does care about your education...

But you'll have to wait for pictures, because they can tell the story much better than I can, and I'm not quite sure where my USB cable is right now anyways. Plus, there were dozens of cameras in attendance. The photos will start trickling in soon.

Angy, Terry, and Sin also did a fine job of rounding up random people from the elevator to join us, so we had a nice mix of strangers in the group and maybe a couple of new T2Vers will come of it. They certainly enjoyed themselves, and the company was top-notch.

The party carried on for several hours, and everyone had a great time. I had a great conversation with Chef about the history of the Madness as far as T2V is concerned, and I turned Stuffic into a goofy slobbering mess with several rounds of Spicy Beavers. I hope she makes it to the tournament later today. Andrea and Aaron showed up, and although I was afraid that they'd just make a quick appearance, a night out seemed to be just what she needed and they stayed for several hours. Don D was also there, although Jennifer couldn't make it, and it tempered his buffoonery just a bit. But we were glad to see him.

Sticky made it past her previous March Madness appearance record of 10 pm and outlasted me. While I passed out in the bedroom, Snert, Joe Vegas, and she went on a Pai Gow quest that came up short but eventually they merged with several other of the ir-Regulars and took over a poker table at the IP. Last I heard was that they pulled an all-nighter, so I'm hoping that the fact I'm the only one who got any rest will work to my advantage later this afternoon come tournament time. If I were more cunning and devious, I'd figure out a way to have everyone's wake-up calls canceled, but the tournament wouldn't me much fun with just me and the dealer sitting there...

Anyhow... that's the news. I think that at this very moment, I am the *only* member of T2V Buffoon Nation who is not passed out in a puddle of their own drool. So I might go grab some breakfast and maybe even find that slot machine that removes me from the working class once and for all.

As far as updates during the poker tourney go, I don't know if it's going to be possible, or what the people in charge of the room will allow, but we have a few spectators willing to photograph and video if given permission. Also, if you can believe it, the poker room at the IP is not a wi-fi hotspot, so I may just take notes with paper and pen and write it all up later. Back when the new laptop was just a good idea and not a reality, bringing it to the poker room with a bunch of drunken buffoons sounded like a good idea. But now that I have it, I don't want it within ten feet of a cocktail glass or an ashtray, so it might not make the trip. Plus, who wants to lug a laptop around when you're trying to get stupid? Not me... I'd probably end up losing it... doh!

Also, the battery only lasts about two hours off the charger, and the tourney from signup to awards presentation will probably go double that... so I'm leaning towards the pen and paper route... Maybe a few cellphone pics and text messages might make it here with preliminary reports from the final table, but I think the full-on update might have to wait until tomorrow...

Until then, y'all have a great day.

We're having a blast in Vegas. March Madness, T2V style, kicks absolute ass!

Ok, non attending members of the Buffoon Nation...

What Mikey so elequently stated, is that he was the first derailment of the party. And that will not be the only thing he finishes first at. Mikey will be first out of the tourney, and as a bonus, that will win him the IP buffet comp.

    Bring it bitch!!

Big Tips was out first, and tradition dictates that she wins the strippers shirt. Not fair, Jennifer washed it...

Mikey, thanks for posting the updates.

Bazootch, truthfullness is tough to muster when you're an early departure off the grain-train. Especially when you're Mikey and have to live up to his high standards.

Give us some more whenever you can.

    Correction...

Big Tips was *not* the first one out of the tournament, that honor went to Miss Chips when her pocket pair didn't quite hold up.

I'll post the full rundown later...maybe tomorrow, but right now I have to shower, shave, and get the casino funk off of me. We have dinner reservations for a group of 10 buffoons at 8pm over at Del Frisco's.

Teaser... a poker rookie won again this year. But two of the biggest smack talkers finished in the money. Oh, and I laid the Mother of All Suck-Outs on Sticky Fingers to knock her out of the tournament. I'm waiting to hear the end of it, but she doesn't have a mute button...

    Peace out...

    Mikey

    Darn!

Can't believe I'm missing this thing by a week!
What do I have to do to be drawn into this inner circle of T2V party goers?

Thanks for the update. It sure made me smile.

Well I'd attempt my own run down of what I saw at the tourny but I
    a. Can't remember many people's names
    b. Can't remember what happened
    b. can't remember how real names relate to the forum names

Was the best time I've ever had losing money. Incidentally, the tourny winner was responsible for taking me out so I've been consoling myself with psycho-babble about a certain jack-drinking someone signing a deal with a devil and my losing being nothing to do with lack of skills.

Thanks for a great time everyone.

    Excellent tournament

As Jer stated above, I'll let Mikey and those with better memories sum up the results. However, I'd like to state that Bazootch, who seemed to be the point-person in charge of organizing this event, did a GREAT job! An event that includes 28 people from all over the country doesn't just happen on a whim, so the planning involved is very much appreciated by all of those who participated.

As for the results, they debunked a popular theory as the "good guy" did finish first..........and second for that matter!

I wished I was with the others in Las Vegas. My name should be changed but I don't know how to do it. The only thing I could get to work on here was VegasKathy but I should have put NYKathy, :)

My shot of tequila last night was a big shot glass but I drank it all:licklips:

There is quite a short list required for membership.

    1. Be a member of T2V.

    2. Volunteer to pledge a few days a year to the buffoonery of the Buffoon Nation.

    3. SHOW UP!

Pretty easy to get in the club...
