Recently got the TR Visa - mainly to keep my RCs active since Horseshoe Cleveland is no longer part of CET. I have not played much this year and only have 237 TCs. After 1st purchase, I get upgraded to Platinum.

As you all know, the normal way to achieve Platinum is earning 5,000 TCs. And Diamond is 15,000 TCs

    My question is ....

Does this mean when I go to Vegas in October that I "only" need to earn 10,000 TCs to become Diamond since I am currently technically Platinum?

No. The way that I understand it, your TC do not change, you are just "awarded" platinum level.

    You start at 0 TC.

That is correct. You still need to EARN the points. When you get Plat, you do not get any points.
Do not forget the bonus opportunities.

Correct, although you get temporary Platinum Status as a result of the TR Credit Card, they do not actually deposit 5,000 tier points into your account, you remain at 0 tier points and need to earn them as everyone else does.

Now, having said that, they do offer cardholders a way to earn something called a VIP Card, which gives you many of the same benefits of being diamond (with the exception of entrance to diamond lounges). You'll have to research what the spend requirement is, but that may be another option if you don't plan on gambling enough to earn diamond.

With the Spring Bonuses, Tier Credit Mystery Multipliers, and bonuses for earning a certain tier credit amount in a day, I find accruing Diamond do-able. And, when you earn the benefits, you get a lot more in return than many of the other properties. I will say that Cosmos loyalty program isn't that far behind, but you have to be a big spender to make it up in rooms.

What are "tier credits mystery multipliers?" Do they have that in Vegas?

Might just be an Atlantic City thing, but essentially on some days you'll get multipliers on your tier credits that you earn that day. Other times, they'll have promotions at the casino where they lottery off tier credits. Someone won 15,000 TCs.

Interesting. I have NEVER heard of them multiplying TCs, I heard of and seen plenty of multiplying RC promotions, and I won 275,000 RCs last year in a promotion.

    I'd love to see it, but until I do . . . .

    Going from memory:

Earn 500 in a day get an extra 500
Earn 5000 in a day, get an extra 10,000

There are awards in between, too.

Those are standard bonus levels, not multipliers.

    Those bonuses are:

    500 - 125
    1000 - 1000
    2500 - 5000
    5000 - 10000 (corrected)

What he (spdandpwr) was describing was what I thought were the multipliers that they occasionally give for RCs. On a specific day, swipe your card and earn anywhere between 5X and 25X.

I got the VIP Access card last year. It's honestly nothing special. Platinum got me in the fast line almost everywhere as far as dining at buffets. It'll come with a little fold out pamphlet telling you where it's honored.

Thanks for all the replies. No big deal on Diamond or whatever. I mainly got the TR Visa to keep points active.

Is there a Platinum line for checkin at the Linq? or is it only for Diamond or higher?

I believe DaiLun means 5000 gets 10,000 bonus
