Someone posted a photo of the bar in the last few days, but I can't find it now. I'll keep looking. Edit - Nope. Can't find it. Hopefully they see it and repost it here.
Was there Tuesday. A nice improvement. Some craft beers I had not had. Bartenders OK but nothing compares to Jose and Oleg next door at MSS. Also hit a 4OAK and almost asked for my scratch off.
Where is this bar located? I can't imagine it replacing the San Francisco bar so must be the bar on the west side of the casino? Or upstairs on the 2nd floor.
Yea I do this all the time... except I proudly hold up my "4 fingers" at GN, 4Q, Wynn and Cosmo! The Bar staff always laughs at me and shakes their head? Jose trained me too well years ago?
Anybody know what the VP tables might be? If I remember correctly, they were only OK. I am guessing they are about the same. Also, what are the craft beers that they are offering?
Yes, I'm still confused from the pictures. Did this bar take over the same location as the San Francisco bar that was there previously? Did it move right next to the Keno area or stretch from the Keno area to the Binions/LVC entrance? In the picture I see a door in the area where the entrance should be, does this door allow access for the bartenders and opens up right by the entrance to the casino? just curious. Not sure when I will be going to vegas again, maybe in January. Interesting with the drinks, guess I could have a margarita when I'm on the tables (not that it wasn't available before, just that I didn't see the machine before).
This replaces the San Francisco bar. Remember, the bar didn't go right to the doors? It occupies exactly the same footprint, Keno is where it always was.
I guess so, the pics make the bar look longer than what it was before. I remember the bar would go up to the area by the entrance (there is a wall with machines) but I don't remember a doorway as we see in the pictures. No problem, not a big thing for me since I never go to the bar for drinks (usually order them at the tables). The only thing is that I really miss that lanai restaurant that was near the entrance. I would regularly eat or order from that place whenever I go to vegas. Was great, not that long a wait, not too long lines like you see at the Market St. Café and you could take it to your room. MSC charges you for take out. Was also great, I loved their chicken wings, very crispy and they give you a choice of ranch or bbq sauce to eat them with. Also loved their hamburger steak and bentos. Last time I visited vegas in March I ate out mostly so it's their loss that I will be spending my meal money elsewhere. Wish they would have asked the patrons what they thought before gutting that restaurant. They want us to go to the noodle house but because of the lanai restaurant getting torn down I will never eat at that noodle house.
Wait, the snack bar is gone?! Say it ain't so Charlie!!!! Loved me a bowl of Saimin, or Terri Bowl there. Not to mention the chili-dogs!!! I hope I read that wrong..... JW
Around mid April the former Snack Bar area reopened as just another typical casino slot area. It's a shame! No more Saimin!
You can still visit the market st. café to get your saimin. Not sure about the teri bowl or the chili dogs. The other stuff they had (munchies like caramel popcorn, chips, candy) are still available on the 2nd floor, at the Lapperts ice cream shop. I also heard that the market st. café and the noodle have a limited menu that they had at the snack bar but I'm not sure what they have to offer. yes, if you are referring to the Café that was near the entrance facing binions and lvc.....it is totally gone. they now have slot machines in that area. I also miss that greatly.
This looks like the location where the main Street Bar was on the ground level on the way to MSS. Hit the progressive there once for $1621.
No, this is not the Main St Bar location. As the other posters have said, it replaced the San Francisco bar.
Yep. Just got back from a solo trip at the Cal. The bar is more bright and lively now that there is a lot of graphics above the counter showing pics of tropical paradise. All nice, clean, and spiffy. Can't figure why they called the bar the "HoloHolo" bar. HoloHolo means "let's go out" or "leisure trip". They should have called it the "Hana Hou" bar. It means "One more time". Like one more drink? That makes more sense to me, lol!
